Yatabe Katsuyoshi (谷田部勝義) is a Japanese screenwriter and director born July 11, 1956 in Tokyo, Japan. After graduating he joined the Department of Arts at Nihon Daigaku in 1975. In 1978 he joined Ad Cosmo but felt that as subcontrctractor there would be no real productions done and thus went on to join Sunrise in 1979. There he learned under Tomino Yoshiyuki and Takahashi Ryousuke before becoming freelancer. He also uses the aliases of Futa Morita (森田風太) and Kota Morita (森田光太), which are the names of his sons.

The Brave of the Sun Fighbird

It's the good, old, cliched battle of good-versus-evil on a mainly human scale as Prof. Amano settles a lifelong grudge match against his former colleague Dr. Jango, while Fighbird squares off with Draias and his men.
