Police Special Task Force Senior Inspector SANG and Traffic Police Officer CHI co-habit happily. Regional Crime Unit Inspector FUNG receives some tips about a triad organization ‘Hung Ying’ recruiting some prostitutes from the Mainland. FUNG and his colleagues set up an operation to try to catch the black-hands behind the organization, but the suspects escape. Luckily, CHI helps them to arrest them all. SANG accidentally sends RITA an animated email to propose instead of CHI. She announces the news to the whole police station. SANG loses CHI’s silver whistle during an operation. She is cross and moves out. FUNG’s wife YUEN is CHI’s boss and best friend. She tries to persuade her to get back to SANG, but fails. SANG learns that a prostitute BING has found CHI’s whistle, so he looks for her. A sect leader of Hung Ying TUNG sees BING holding the whistle and scolds her for stealing customers’ property.

CHI intercepted some illegal immigrants and is praised by YUEN and the Chief Inspector CHAN. The head of Hung Ying KUEN’s daughter WING sets up some prostitution institutes right next to TUNG’s territory. TUNG finds WING stealing his customers deliberately. KUEN orders TUNG and WING draw a borderline in the territories. TUNG objects to KUEN’s decision which protects WING. He expands his business and sends out promotion leaflets. YUEN is pregnant again. She, FUNG and their daughter SA are all waiting for the newborn. The police organize an anti-prostitution operation ‘Burning Rose’, which involves Special Task Force, Regional Crime Unit and is led by Organized Crime and Triad Superintendent KEN to fight against TUNG’s prostitution business.

CHI stops a driver who runs through a roadblock. Apparently, the driver is CHUNG, who used to be a Traffic Police Officer. SANG meets BING again during the ‘Burning Rose’ operation. He falls down and is hurt when he chases her for CHI’s whistle, while she escapes. The operation is very successful. KEN calls for a press conference. FUNG’s subordinates are annoyed that KEN only takes the credits and does not care about SANG. CHI is worried when she learns that SANG is hurt. When he presents her the whistle, she is delighted. He proposes to her, but is turned down. She wants to get married after she is promoted. A prostitute KIU tells KEN that SANG lets BING go for the whistle. KEN asks SAN for an explanation. CHI and SANG look for BING. CHUNG visits CHI and tells her that he is now working as a reporter for a pornographic website, so she asks him to help looking for BING.

CHI begs BING to tell KEN the truth about the whistle, but she refuses. BING’s neighbor steals her son’s medical subsidy. Luckily, CHI helps her to get the money back. She agrees to explain to KEN about the whistle. YUEN falls ill. She is diagnosed of a rare pregnancy disease and the doctor advises her to give up the baby. TUNG attracts the police’s attention with his high profile prostitution business. KEN decides to hold another operation to eliminate it. TUNG causes a big loss to the organization, so KUEN forces him to hand over his business to WING. He sends his subordinate TONG to kill her. Luckily, her husband CHOI saves her, but he is injured badly. She knows that it is TUNG’s plot and wants to take her revenge. KUEN advises her to gather some evidence before taking any action. YUEN notices that CHOI’s injury is not caused by normal traffic accident, so she hands over the case to the Regional Crime Unit.

FUNG analyses YUEN’s information and realizes that CHOI’s injury is caused by a potential murder case, so he watches through the recorded videos and finds out that the suspect is TUNG’s subordinate TONG and has him arrested. During a sect leaders’ meeting, WING forces TUNG to admit his murder plot, but he denies it. KUEN orders him to hand out his account book to annoy him. KUEN is thankful to CHOI for saving WING’s life. CHI finds out that YUEN is using drugs to control her condition, so she encourages her to tell FUNG about it. The Regional Crime Unit Superintendent PANG announces that KEN is the new superintendent, FUNG’s direct boss. FUNG’s subordinates TING, FA and TAI are annoyed with KEN’s working attitude. KUEN is having a birthday party when KEN’s team arrests him and TUNG for suspected involvement in a traffic accident.

YUEN blacks out suddenly. Her mother MUI and FUNG’s mother KAM try to persuade her to give up the baby, but she insists to give FUNG a son. KEN has to let KUEN and TUNG go because of lack of evidence to charge against them. Later, KEN arrests KUEN again after he finds out that KUEN’s restaurant is involved in suspected corruption. MUI learns that SANG is renovating his flat and thinks that he is going to get married. She tells the news to her daughters SZHEI and YUEN, but she finds out that is just a misunderstanding later. YUEN gives birth to her son by caesarean. KUEN falls ill in a detention centre and worries WING. CHI chases after a speeding car even after her duty. Her motorcycle suddenly dies when she speeds it up and she loses the other car. She takes it to her father HUNG’s garage for a check-up and finds out that SANG asks him to put a speed gauge into her motorcycle.

CHI stops HEI, the son of a renowned departmental storeowner, for speeding. He is shocked by her beauty. KUEN dies in the detention centre. WING inherits his leadership of the organization. HEI meets CHI again in HUNG’s wife, SUM’s pub. They chat and realize that they have similar likings. He loves her from the first sight and pursues her. He makes SANG very nervous. On KUEN’s funeral, WING and TUNG have an argument. FUNG arrives in time to settle the incident. TUNG forces WING to hand over the leadership. Meanwhile, ex-leader FOOK arrives and supports WING. SANG investigates some shoplifting cases in department stores. HEI is aggressive in pursuing CHI and bothers SANG. HUNG warns SANG to be careful that he may lose CHI.

Her male partner is not decided yet and SANG wishes he will be elected. HEI lies to CHI that he is terminally ill to get her sympathy, but she is not fooled. She turns him down sturdily and disappoints him. The heaters that HEI’s store sell are returned by customers and causes a great loss to the company. He is scolded by his father YIP and feels enormous pressure to please him. He hurts a pedestrian when he is drunk driving. He asks YIP’s personal assistant NAM to erase all evidence and regrets for what happens.

KEN is elected for the ‘Male Crime Fighter of the Year’. SANG is only the second choice. YUEN investigates a traffic accident which involves an injured pedestrian. CHI finds out that the suspected car is the same model as HEI’s car. YUEN, CHI and an Identification Bureau officer inspect HEI’s car and the laboratory results show that his car has collision with the injured, TSUN. When YUEN is about to arrest HEI, NAM admits he was the driver that day. SA is upset because she cannot play the harmonica well. FUNG asks his subordinate HO to each her. TSUN dies and HEI gives his wife money for compensation. Identification Bureau finds HEI’s contact lens on TSUN’s body. YUEN and CHI are sure that HEI was the driver who killed him. YIP agrees to support NAM’s family if he agrees to take up the charges. The case is handed over to Regional Crime Unit as it involves TSUN’s death.

SANG tells CHI to keep some distance from KEN as he has an eye on her. But she scolds him for interfering with her personal life. HO loses some important document and is scolded by KEN. MUI’s staff CHUEN is chased after by TUNG’s subordinates PAU for some loan from illegal gambling. SANG has gathered enough evidence to prove that PAU is involved in illegal bookmaking. However, SANG aims to find the bookmaker. TUNG’s subordinates TAN and KAI beat up PAU because he does not give TUNG all the money from the bets. Some loan sharks mess up MUI’s restaurant when they try to find CHUEN.

SANG expresses his worry of losing CHI to HUNG. HUNG suggests him to get CHI pregnant to keep her. He asks his subordinate RITA about ways to get CHI pregnant quickly. FUNG finds out that TUNG is the bookmaker of an illegal gambling organization. However, he cannot charge him because of lack of evidence. He has to leave her in the hotel. He wants to get CHI’s heart again, but she proposes to put their relationship aside. Hung Ying organizes many high-profile illegal gambling activities. In order to destroy them completely, KEN orders HO to be an undercover in TUNG’s territory. YUEN knows that CHI is bothered and finds out that she and SANG are having a cold war. HO succeeds in becoming an undercover. FUNG worries for him and has nightmares often. SANDY is rude to CHI again and KEN breaks up with her. TAN and KAI see PAU having contact with SANG and worry that he will tell him their illegal gambling business, so they plan to murder him.

CHI is moved that SANG cares a lot for her and gets back with him. They attend to a ball together. He meets SUNNIE at the ball and worries that she will tell CHI that they have been to a love hotel, so he hides from her. TAN and KAI force PAU to hand out all the money from his illegal gambling business. With no way out, he calls SANG for help and promises to be the police witness to charge against TUNG. However, there is a fire at the place he is hiding and SUNNIE finds out that he is murdered. KEN and CHI finally finish the filming and they celebrate together. TUNG’s illegal gambling business brings in the organization good incomes. His name gets bigger than WING’s. WING is annoyed and drinks in a pub but meets some troublemakers. FUNG helps her out. SUNNIE recognizes SANG. He asks her to keep the love hotel event secret in case CHI will know about it.

KEN is a playboy. He likes to pursue models and actresses. His name often appears on magazines. Therefore, some reporters take pictures of him and CHI walking together. SANDY is an actress. She tells a magazine that CHI has stolen KEN from her. When CHI is stopped by some reporters in front of the police station, SANDY humiliates her in public. Her boss LEE is annoyed and assigns her a desk job. KEN is sorry for her punishment. CHI learns that SANG and SUNNIE have been to a love hotel and scolds him of unfaithful. FUNG receives some intelligence and wipes out TUNG’s illegal gambling business. KAI wants to destroy some evidence against TUNG, but is arrested. SANG begs for CHI’s forgiveness. Meanwhile, SUNNIE appears and CHI leaves with jealousy. CHI joins a rock climbing class. Coincidently, KEN is her tutor. She is thrilled when she gets to the top of the mountain.

She suggests breaking up with him for he does not trust her. SUNNIE recombines some burnt paper, which reveals TUNG’s account book for the illegal gambling activities. KAI takes up all the charges. However, TUNG still worries that he will betray him and sends a hit man to kill him, but fails. KAI decides to turn around to be the police witness. TUNG suspects that there is an insider who tells the police about his plan to kill KAI. WING tells FUNG TUNG’s movement which arouses his suspicion over her intention.

TAN sets TUNG up to flee Hong Kong. FUNG and his subordinates arrive in time to stop them. TUNG resists to be arrested. They have a gunfight. FUNG wants to post HO to the Regional Crime Unit, but KEN wants to keep him undercovered in order to destroy Hung Ying. He sees SUNNIE when he wakes up and is shocked thinking that they have sex. MUI sees SANG and SUNNIE are close and thinks they are going out. CHUNG works for a food magazine and interviews MUI’s restaurant. SANG cooks many dishes especially for the interview and invites SUNNIE to taste. MUI praises SANG for his input in the restaurant. SUNNIE finds him caring for his family and likes him. The police force holds a shooting competition. SANG is proud of his shooting skills. He learns that KEN joins the competition and decides to compete with him. On the competition day, SUNNIE takes care of SANG. WING gives FUNG present for no reason and puzzles him.

He sends some officers to follow her. He follows her to a pub and is drugged. He has sex with her and regrets it. KEN sets up a special team to investigate the serial killing. Therefore, SANG searches his flat to find some evidence, but retrieves nothing. SUNNIE admits to SANG that she loves him, which bothers him. CHUNG is thought to be shoplifting by mistake in a model shop. Luckily, CHI helps him out. HUNG is secretly meeting his ex-wife, SHAN. SUM thinks that he is having an affair. HUNG lied to CHI that her mother was dead when she was young. The sudden appearance of SHAN, who determines to meet CHI again, puts HUNG in a dilemma. SHAN wants to reunion with HUNG, CHI and her mother LAN. However, HUNG cannot forgive her leaving without a word before. KIT’s ex-husband WAI meets her in her parlor. He is about to sexually assault her before her assistant LING yells and stops him. LING is attacked afterward. The police suspect that WAI has his revenge on her. When CHOI finds out that she is going out with FUNG, he advises her to quit it as it might lead to troubles. During the banquet, SHAN tries hard to please HUNG and LAN, which annoys SUM. HO learns that WING is going to have a drug trade soon, so he sends a message to notify FUNG in Morse code. When he finds no one at the meeting place, he realizes that WING has tricked him. She starts to suspect someone in the organization tips off the police. CHOI expects FUNG to take action, so he tricks him to another meeting place.

KEN orders FUNG to suspend his work for internal investigation. PANG worries about HO’s safety and wants to pull him out from undercover, but KEN objects. SANG takes over the serial killing case. He suspects that the killer will visit LING again. When WAI is arrested for harassing KIT, the police suspect that he is the killer. But soon it proves that he is not. KIT pays WAI to keep him quiet about her previous marriage. SANG advises YUEN to forgive FUNG and helps him to overcome the present difficulties. HO is sorry for causing FUNG’s suspension. He is in danger as WING finds out his identity. FUNG has lost contact with him and worries that he is killed.

WING takes HO hostage and meets FUNG in a warehouse. She wants him to leave Hong Kong with her. Things get physical when FUNG tries to save HO. Meanwhile, WING’s gun misfires and hurts HO and FUNG. HO falls into a coma. HO falls into a coma. Suddenly, CHOI appears and is disgusted with WING’s addiction in FUNG. He kills her by mistake and sets FUNG up for WING’s death. When YUEN visits FUNG in the hospital, he tells her the whole truth, which she believes. KEN insists that FUNG kills WING for revenge. SUNNIE is ill, but she continues working hoping that she can help to prove that FUNG is innocent. SANG and her go back to the crime scene to look for more evidence. She finds some bloodstains on a wooden box. However, she faints just when she is about to examine it. She keeps on working even when she is ill, which moves SANG.

KEN feels sorry for HO getting hurt during his undercover career. KIT pays WAI in a love hotel. Coincidently, some police officers come in to have a regular registration check. WAI and KIT’s history is revealed, which outrages TING. KIT is heartbroken and prepared to close down her massage parlor. When she and LING are packing up, LING spills some disinfectants and the smell arouses CHUNG’s killing rush. Apparently, CHUNG has split personality. When he smells disinfectant, he will become a brutal killer. After he kills LING, KIT suddenly shows up. He wants to kill her too, but TING arrives in time and saves her. TING forgives her. During HO’s coma, he responds to stimulation, so YUEN arranges a brain electro-pulse test for him. The test result shows that FUNG is set up. However, KEN reminds her that the result is not accepted as court evidence, which disappoints YUEN, SANG, and CHING.… ...

CHING finally finds out the weapon which kills WING and shows that FUNG is not the suspect. He is released and waits to be back at work. MUI invites CHING for dinner for her help in freeing FUNG. She encourages SANG to date her. KEN tries to get more information on WING’s death from HO with the electro-pulse test. However, HO dies during the test. When FUNG learns that HO is dead, he scolds KEN for only caring about the case but his subordinates’ safety. KEN starts to question his working style after that. CHING dates SANG. Meanwhile, her mother FAI appears to check him out. FAI can see that CHING is in love and asks her their development. FUNG is back at work and is assigned to investigate the serial killing. People from Hung Ying plan to kill FUNG as they think that he killed WING. They elect CHOI to take over the organization.

CHOI thanks KWAN for giving a false statement to prove his absence at the crime scene. He loves WING and believes that FUNG has killed her. CHING brings SANG to see FAI who gives him a foot massage and makes him laugh. FAI thinks that SANG is not very healthy. As she lost her husband early, she wants CHING to find a healthier man. CHI chases after the serial killer, but he escapes and leaves a motorbike behind. SANG learns about another murder case. The victim also has trace of disinfectant. CHING visits CHUNG and finds newspaper clippings and photos about the victims. CHING uses disinfectant often and the smell triggers CHUNG to try to kill her. She suddenly goes missing which worries SANG. CHI worries about SANG after he turns depressed when CHING goes missing. KEN comforts her and reveals his feelings to her.

CHUNG’s condition deteriorates. He cannot believe what he does subconsciously. He tells CHI that something is strange in his house and asks her to investigate. When she arrives, she sees CHING being tied up. He suddenly attacks her. She manages to call SANG for her. He takes CHING up to the roof. SANG and CHING both fall down from there. Luckily, they are only slightly injured. CHI has an internal bleeding. However, there is no matching blood in the hospital. HUNG knows that SHAN has the same blood type as CHI, so SANG rushes to find her. However, she is away from Hong Kong for business. KEN leaves a message on SHAN’s company website. When she learns about it, she rushes back to save CHI. CHUNG is hospitalized for mental treatment.

HUNG thanks SHAN for saving CHI. NAN forgives her after that. CHOI brings good money to the organization from selling soft drugs. CHERRY is a waitress in SUM’s pub. She helps CHOI’s subordinates TIGER and MARK to sell drugs in the pub to pay back her debt. SUM is unhappy seeing CHI, SHAN and NAN are back together again. CHI is discharged from the hospital. KEN tries hard to please her. However, HUNG plays trick on him. SUM’s pub is vandalized after CHERRY starts selling drugs there. Her boyfriend CHIKIT is HUNG’s student. He throws away all the drugs when he learns about it. FUNG is laughed at by his subordinates when he reports his locations to YUEN. KEN orders FUNG to check out all the entertainment premises for drugs which affects CHOI’s business.

CHING and SANG are dating. FAI criticizes his health and forces him to work out and follow a custom designed diet. He cannot sleep through the hunger and CHING cooks some night food for her. CHEERY and CHIKIT hide from MARK because they lose some drugs. However, they are found out eventually. MARK threatens CHERRY to pass some drugs to dealers in the pub. KEN cancels a date with CHI for investigating a drug deal. She is upset that he puts his career before her. CHERRY persuades some clients to join a lucky draw. She hides some drugs inside the prizes to pass onto some dealers. SUM worries that SHAN and HUNG will get back together. A bar attendant BILL comforts her. She is caught by the police for possessing drugs during a delivery, which she cannot explain.

FUNG finds a lot of drugs inside SUM’s pub. The evidence points against her. HUNG asks KEN to release SUM, but fails. CHERRY and CHIKIT are both missing. HUNG asks SANG to help locating them. CHI tries to talk to KEN about SUM’s case. However, KEN advises her to avoid getting involved. He invites Forensic to examine some evidence from the pub and hopes to set SUM free earlier. SUM has passed the detention. HUNG picks her home. SANG survives the dieting. His body weight and fitness reach standard. CHING buys her a big dinner. They have a romantic night. She even gives him her first night. She tells him that she likes to marry him which moves him. FAI asks CHING how she is doing with SANG. SANG tells FUNG that he is not sure that CHING is his ultimate love.

SANG has a psychological test which shows that he has reservation towards CHING. SUM is outraged when she find out that HUNG does not accompany her to report to the police because he has to meet SHAN. Later, she realizes that he asks SHAN to hire a famous lawyer HUNG CHING for her. CHERRY and CHIKIT are both confined. SHAN and SUM asks a fortune-teller YAM to find out about her future. He tells SUM that she is going to win the case but is likely to lose her marriage. HUNG knows that CHERRY and CHIKIT’s missing is linked to CHOI, so he asks CHOI to release them. CHOI worries that CHERRY will tell the police about their secret, so he orders MARK to kill her. Luckily, FUNG saves her and CHIKIT. She tells the police how she is forced to sell drugs. FUNG arrests MARK and CHOI and ruins their plan in signing an important contract with a big company. KEN works overnight on SUM’s case, which moves CHI.

MUI falls ill. CHING volunteers to take care of her and the restaurant. SANG panics when she treats his family well. SANG tells HUNG that he is not prepared to marry CHING. HUNG advises him to delay the wedding. He feels horrible when he remembers the good time with CHI and his hesitation over CHING. CHOI loses a big contract and swears to take revenge on FUNG. He poses some intimate pictures of FUNG and WING on a magazine in order to ruin his credibility. KEN asks FUNG to take some leaves. Some reporters bother FUNG. Luckily, YUEN defenses him which he is very grateful for. CHI asks SANG to show her some cooking in order to please KEN and he agrees. SANG still has feelings over CHI and he feels bad seeing her loving KEN so much.

CHING lies to SANG that she is pregnant to test if he will be responsible for her. He suddenly proposes to her which pleases her. They discuss with their families about the wedding arrangement. SA finds some pictures of FUNG and WING on the Internet and is very upset. He tries to explain to her and asks for her forgiveness. FUNG re-investigates WING’s case. He finds something suspicious with the photo which proves CHOI’s absence at the crime scene. It is proved later that the photo is a fake. CHI is confused after learning that SANG is going to get married. KEN asks the Forensic to re-examine all evidence of WING’s case. SANG accompanies CHI to buy some cookery books and bump into CHING and FAI. CHING finds a killer’s hair inside some of the evidence. CHOI foresees that KEN will find some new evidence, so he fakes a kidnap. CHING tidies SANG’s flat and throws away a lot of old items.… ...

KEN finds no clue to CHOI’s kidnapping case. He suspects that CHOI plans it to delay the police’s investigation on WING’s case. He sends an officer to collect some of CHOI’s hair from his flat. NAN has an acute appendicitis. CHI asks SANG to visit her in the hospital for her as she is working. CHI has lost contact with KEN and worries. SANG tells her that he has seen him in a pub. Apparently, KEN meets SANDY in a pub. Later, she gets drunk and forces him to stay overnight for her. CHI is touched that SANG cares for her family even after they broke up. CHOI threatens FUNG’s family. His hair sample matches the one retrieved from WING’s case. KEN reckons that CHOI is the real killer. CHING finds out that SANG takes back the items, which includes some of CHI’s belongings and the silver whistle, that she has thrown away and asks SANG to bring their wedding forward.

FUNG dreams about YUEN and SA getting killed and is scared. He proposes to KEN that he would rather drag CHOI out to kill him than wait for him. FUNG makes use of the media and poses an article to reveal how he and WING get together. CHOI is outraged seeing the article and claims that FUNG has made up a false story. KEN secretly starts seeing SANDY again after her nagging. He cannot go to water the flowers in a hillside with CHI because of SANDY. SANG proposes to go with her. FUNG expects CHOI to visit WING’s grave on their wedding anniversary. KEN plans to arrest him that day. However, CHOI sees through their plan and KEN’s operation fails. FUNG knows that SANG still loves CHI. However, SANG claims that he is not meant to have her. CHI finds out that KEN is seeing SANDY and is heartbroken.

CHI leaves home in a rage and sits on a street to drink. SANG comforts and supports her. She realizes that she still loves him. KEN messes up some of CHOI’s nightclubs and pubs in order to drag him out. One of the Hung Ying’s branch leaders BIU proposes to elect another head as CHOI has gone missing for a long time and the organization needs a head. In fact, BIU wants to take over the power. KEN asks for CHI’s forgiveness. However, she rejects him and tells him that she still loves SANG. SANG and CHING shop for FUNG’s birthday. On the day, CHOI attacks FUNG and pushes him and his car into the sea. KEN receives a report that someone finds FUNG’s wallet and the police finds FUNG’s car. However, they cannot find FUNG. KEN finds CHOI at where FUNG fell down into the sea. The police arrest CHOI and KEN claims that he knows CHOI is related to WING’s death.

CHOI sets a fire to burn some of the important evidences in WING’s case. SANG delays the wedding for investigating FUNG’s case. CHING understands his situation and cancels her leaves to help with the investigation. There are lots of bloodstains which belong to FUNG inside FUNG’s car. SANG tries to find FUNG no matter day or night. He finally falls ill and CHI takes care of him. YUEN hears that someone has seen FUNG on an island and rushes off but finds no one. YUEN asks YAM, who is a fortune-teller, if FUNG is still alive and he is. BIU wants to reveal the truth that CHOI has given false statement to the police. CHOI kills him before that. CHOI asks YAM to find WING a new grave to avoid FUNG. SANG has suspicion seeing MUI giving a lot of money to YAM to help praying for FUNG. He investigates YAM’s background.… ...

KEN works with the Special Task Force to investigate FUNG’s missing. KEN tells SANG that CHI still loves him which shocks him. SANG asks her why she leaves KEN and she replies that KEN will not be a good husband. YUEN hears many people reporting seeing FUNG, but she cannot find him. CHI feels sorry for YUEN and FUNG being split up and cries on SANG’s shoulder. CHING sees it all. SANG finds out that CHOI deeply believes in fate, so he works with YAM to set him up. YAM tells CHOI that he has an ultimate enemy. CHOI believes that it is FUNG. Meanwhile, he hears that FUNG is saved and sent to a hospital. He tries to kill FUNG, but is subdued by FUNG’s subordinate FA, who pretends to be FUNG. CHOI struggles and is eventually shot by SANG. Just before her wedding, CHING suddenly leaves Hong Kong. CHI encourages SANG to chase after her. YUEN believes that FUNG is still alive and looks for him.
