1x1 - Episode 1

June 6, 1991

LI CHUN KAU is a police-sergeant. He is honest and kind. Though he knows that KIT is only his adopted brother, he takes good care of him, treating him like his real brother. Moreover, he determines to hide this secret deep in his heart. KAU has to give support to KIT so that he can further his studies, thus he has delayed his marriage. His girlfriend KWOK YING is discontented and leaves him behind. MAY HAR worries much about him so she tries to embroides him and YIM HUNG. KAU receives the report of a robbery. The gangster does not surrender. KAU tricks him by making up a story. He manages to approach him and convince him to surrender. MAY HAR goes to mainland China to pay a visit. As KAU does not know how to do housework, it changes into a mess. At the same time, WAI’s athlete’s foot becomes a topic being laughed by his colleagues. PETER and KIT are keen competitors. Both aim at being the best sales?man.… ...

June 7, 1991

YAN indulges in fine Arts. She wants to further develop her talent in music but TOY NA just wants her to marry a rich man. KWOK YING has married NGAI KWAN CHI. He devoted most of his time on his career. Moreover she has few friends as she is bad-tempered. She feels lonely and she always visits KAU. YAN meets KAU and due to misunderstanding, the gap between them further widens. KAU has no chance to explain but he is impressed by her beauty. TOY NA is running a boutique. Most of her customers are working in nightclubs. On seeing this, WAI takes her as a prostitute too. KAU knows that KWAN CHI is not behaving properly. He warns KWOK YING but she trusts her husband. She scolds KAU. KIT is KWAN CHI's subordinate. He dares not to make him angry and he tries to keep secret for him. KWOK YING suspects KAU of hoping to spoil her marriage. She is so angry that she declares to ignore him.

1x3 - Episode 3

June 10, 1991

YAN is attacked by a sex maniac and she faints. Fortunately KAU arrives and saves her. As she is herself again, she only sees KIT and thanks him, thinking that KIT has saved her. KAU promises to help a lame old woman to prosecute HO CHUNG YI. Knocking her down, CHUNG YI neglects her. As he is very busy, he sends KIT to take care of the old woman. This deeply impresses YAN. TOY NA does not want YAN to further her studies. She persuades her to participate in beauty competition so as to get with rich families. She wants YAN to follow KAT's example. However KATE does not pay her back, so she has to rely on YAN. KATE thinks that she can have good living after her marriage. However CHUNG YI is so autocratic that he always beats her hard. Since KATE has no talent, thus she has to tolerate the torture. YAN thinks that KIT is a good musician. Once she plays music with KAU.… ...

1x4 - Episode 4

June 11, 1991

One day when KAU is on duty, he witnesses KATE being slapped by CHUNG YI. KAU stops him and this makes them become enemies. To flatter her mother, YAN joins the beauty competition. KAU has not seen YAN for a long period. He misses her much and suddenly he knows her joining the competition on the magazine. He is shocked and attracted by her beauty. KIT's company is one of the sponsors of the competition. He has chances to talk with her and they become friends. YAN and KATE go to the cinema together. By mistake, they buy tickets of a film in the third category. There she comes across KIT, they are embarrassed. KAU sees KATE fighting with CHUNG YI. He rushes to stop them. Inciden?tally YAN and TOY NA are there. Although the case is settled down, they know CHUNG YI's behaviour. CHUNG YI's filthy behaviour is known by KATE. She questions him but this arouses hi s anger. He warns her not to question him. KATE has to tolerate.

1x5 - Episode 5

June 12, 1991

YAN learns her lesson from KATE's experience. She wants to retrieve and resign but TOY NA objects. YAN is criticized as she loses her chance in winning the competition. Fortunately KIT supports her. YAN can no longer conceal her love. After communication, YAN understands KAU but she has been attracted by KIT. KIT has a business trip. As he is away, YAN approaches KAU, hoping to know more about KIT. However KAU mistakenly thinks that YAN is turning to him. MAY HAR arranges YIM HUNG to stay with them. However love does not germinate between KAU and her and their marriage is of no hope. KAU requests KIT and YAN to help him. By mistake he locks them up and this creates a chance for them to be together. Love drastically blossoms between them.

1x6 - Episode 6

June 13, 1991

KIT knows that WAI and MAY HA are not his parents. He questions them and they admit it, making him shocked. Fortunately KAU reminds him that they have been taking good care of him. This relieves him but it still makes a scar in his heart. YIM HUNG knows that KAU will not marry her so she decides to migrate to the USA. On leaving, she encourages him to work hard. YAN YAN wins the support from a ricj. merchant who is willing to make her an actress. This is a milestone to her career. On the other hand TOY NA discovers her love affair with KIT. She tries to separate them, thinking that it is a stumbling block to her success. KAU feels guilty as he has disclosed KIT's secret. He determines to help him in every aspect, even embroiling him and YAN YAN whom he admires. Due to his eye problem, WAI has to retire and his colleagues hold a party for his leaving. KWAN CHI's improper behaviour is observed by KAU.… ...

1x7 - Episode 7

June 14, 1991

As he finds some glues relating to KIT I s birth, KAU goes to visit YI KO, hoping to find KIT I S parents. MAY HA worries much as in fact KIT is her son. She gave birth to him with her secret lover. She made up the whole story in front of WAI with the support from LI HO who has mercy on her. As she has such a secret, MAY HA is blackmailed by YI KO I s husband. She r asks LI HO to help her. This makes KAU believe that LI HO is her secret lover. KAU tells WAI and he is in great anger. WAI questions them and the whole fact can no longer be covered. LI HO scolds him as the problem originated from WAI inability to have a baby. WAI deserves such a punishment because of his former filthy behaviour. In fact MAY HA has no fault. She is a sufferer. MAY HA is afraid that KAU cannot tolerate the shock about his birth so she begs WAI to keep the secret. On b'1e other hand, WAI cannot accept her thus he drives her and KIT away.… ...

June 17, 1991

KAU is promoted to be a CID. In a case, he meets CHEUNG KWUNG, a rich merchant and his daugther Ll TAl. KWUNG does not trusts the others and he is alerted when the identity of KAU is observed. WAl finds a secret advertisement on the newspaper. After investigation, he finds that KWUNG is a killer who killed a police-captain. He wants to prosecute him but is stopped by LI HO. Thirty years ago, KWUNG eloped with FUNG KIU and arrived at Hong Kong. r They could not find a living and he was forced to break the law. KWUNG robbed a bank but was arrested. His boss wanted to set him free by bribing the police-captain. He agreed to arrange his escape by manipulating a traffic accident. However another team of policemen arrived. In chaos, the police-captain was killed by KWNG who escaped then. Then KWUNG went to Malaysia, leaving FUNG KIU behind. WAl found her and they had mercy on her. They took good care of her and KAU.… ...

June 18, 1991

After driving MAY HA and KIT away, WAI feels lonely and thus he does not want KAU to leave him. He dares not to tell KAU the truth. LI HO understands his feeling and promises to keep the secret for him. LIN TAI becomes KAU' s good friend. As she wants to buy a new car, KAU introduces KIT to her. However they have conflicts and LIN TAI complains to his boss and he is dismissed. KIT is unemployed and WAI forces him to pay the debt. He is in bad mood. Meanwhile YAN YAN wants to marry him so as to run away from heavy work load. However KIT refuses and this widens the gap between them. LIN TAI feels guilty and KIT is fired. She invites him to join her company. KIT knows the weak points of her character and he tries to flatter her and he manages to affect her decision. TOY NA wants to open a new boutique. She has her new shop opened in the city centre. The rent there is high but her business is bad. She asks CHUNG YI to give her a hand.… ...

June 20, 1991

All the others are shocked on hearing that KAU is KWUNG is son. KWUNG can't take it completely. At the time being, the police rush in and arrest the thief. KWUNG feels suspicious as WAI knows so much about his past. WAI is afraid that he will be identified so he lies to KWUNG. As FUNG KIU is not in Hong Kong, there is no evidence to prove WAI’s saying, so he does not believe. WAI is happy to see it. KAU makes mistakes as he is so depressed. He is dismissed and shocked. KAU promises to help KIT to pay his debt. However he makes mistakes, making KIT be beat up by the loan-sharks. Episode 12 To say TOY NA, YAN YAN agrees to act for a pornographic film. She is unwilling to do so and when she argues with the director, KAU saves her but he is insu1ted. KAU tries to pretend to have no problem. YAN YAN is impressed on under?standing his difficulties. To say TOY NA, YAN YAN agrees to act for a pornographic film. She is unwilling to do so and when she argues with the director, KAU saves her but he is insu1ted. KAU tries to pretend to have no problem. YAN YAN is impressed on under?standing his difficulties. She persuades him to work more for his own sake. With mutual encouragement, KAU and YAN YAN manage to live happily, over?coming financial difficulties. YAN YAN is tired of being an actress, she determines to find a clerical work. However she is green-handed and she becomes very busy. Moreover she has to tolerate others' criticisms. She is subjected to great pressure. Although KAU loves YAN YAN, he takes no further step as he is afraid that she still loves KIT;

1x13 - Episode 13

June 24, 1991

KWUNG has once been serious sick. This makes him alert that he should have someone to inherit his fortune. He wants to prove whether KAU is his son. LIN FONG brings KAU to the laboratory for tests. By mistake, KWUNG thinks that KAU wants to deceive him. LIN FONG indulges in the love with KIT. They plan for their marriage. They want WAI and MAY HAR to attend the ceremony but WAI refuses as he is still angry. KAU has no courage to date YAN YAN. Incidentally they come across each other on Chrisman Eve. They share their happy time together. YAN VAN's boss BRIAN returns after his business trip. He is a handsome and talented merchant, YAN YAN is attracted. After being together, YAN YAN finds that KAU loves her. She is in a maze as she does not realize whether she loves him or not.

1x14 - Episode 14

June 25, 1991

BRIAN treats YAN YAN kind. As he knows that TOY NA is still behind bars, he brings her out without notifying YNA YAN. She is deeply touched. As YAN YAN wants to study music in New York, BRIAN suggests to sponsor her. YAN YAN is in a dilemma and she is rather depressed. On KIT's marriage day, YAN YAN promises to present. KAU knows that she still loves KIT and worries. YAN YAN agrees to accept BRIAN as advised by TOY NA. KAU us shocked but he realizes that is a good decision. However he still feels sad.

1x15 - Episode 15

June 26, 1991

KAU finally understands that one should work for his own sake, instead for ideal and others. KAU wants to have his father again. He works in KWUNG1s company. To flatter him, he tries his best to make achievement and even works with (CHUNG YI, his former enemy. He has a polar change in his character. KWUNG gradually accepts KAU but he does not want to take him. This brings special situation between them. WAI is jealous to see KAU and KWUNG together. KAU us trapped between them and is very confused. KAU can do nothing to abridge WAI and MAY HAR as both do not declare their forgiveness for their fame.

1x16 - Episode 16

June 27, 1991

KWUNG has good impression of KAU as he finds him intimating his character. WAI is sent to hospital. When he is in bed, MAY HAR takes care of him rest?lessly. This thaws the iron curtain separating them. KIT becomes a famous merchant, being KWUNG's son-in-law. He is aggressive but this is stopped by KWUNG who is more traditional-minded. He feels upset. CHUNG YI makes use of KIT to fulfill his task. He wants to swallow KWUNG's business. LIN FONG suspects KIT as she finds him going out frequently and spending huge sum of money. Later KIT manages to convince her, making her give him a helping hand to start off his new company.

1x17 - Episode 17

June 28, 1991

KWUNG finds that WAI is the policeman who pushed him down slope. He hates him and wants to curse him. After WAI’s explanation, hatred disappears. KIT and CHUNG YI promote their sales-method successfully. This brings them fame in a short time. KWUNG discloses CHUNG YI and KIT's secret plan. He is terribly angry and feels lonely. To have thorough understanding of KAU, KWUNG invites KAU to live with him. This causes discontent of WAI. MAY HAR tries to calm him down. KAU copes with KWUNG successfully. Moreover he is more accepted as he has changed his character, following KWUNG closely. This brings success to his career.

1x18 - Episode 18

July 1, 1991

KAU and KWUNG are hurt in a traffic accident. KAU suffers serious injury and KWUNG feels guilty. He send KAU overseas for treatment and makes him his son and inherit his fortune. KAU does not want to return, in fact he is excited as he is surrounded by, fortune and fame. LIN FONG thinks that she is pregnant. However KIT is not happy to see this. This arouses suspicion in her mind. KIT argues with his wife. He rushes out of his house and meets YAN YAN in the street, YAN YAN returns because BRIAN has disclosed his real face after his bankruptcy. YAN YAN cannot further her studies and returns. As LIN FONG sees KIT together YAN YAN, she thinks that their love rejuvenates. She informs KAU. KAU is jealous as YAN YAN does not turn up in front of him.

1x19 - Episode 19

July 2, 1991

After so many problems, YAN YAN finally understands that KAU is the one deserves her love. However she is ashamed of her former decision. KAU does not mind and begs for her love. YAN YAN is deeply touched and turns back to him. KIT suggests divorce with LIN FONG as he has got what he needs. This is a terrible shock to LIN FONG. KIT incidentally discovers that KWUNG is CHEUNG FAT. He blackmails KWUNG, getting shares of his company. KWUNG thinks that WAI has betrayed him. He wants to compromise with WAI. This makes WAI suspect him. Therefore WAI goes to the police and be the witness. This causes trouble and LT HO is hurt in a gang fight. He is sent to hospital.

1x20 - Episode 20

July 3, 1991

KWUNG is afraid of being imprisoned. LIN FONG suffers too. She wants to kill herself. KWUNG wants WAI not to be the witness but his attempt is in vain. KWUNG is worried and sends KAU to stop him. KAU wants to win his trust r and he kidnaps WAI. WAI is sad about KAU1s behaviour. After treatment, LI HO regains his memory. He stands up, telling the truth about the policeman's death. KWUNG is set free. YAN YAN leaves KAU as she does not want to see KAU perish. KAU has nothing. Everyone abandons him. He regrets having done all those fi1thy acts. Finally he determines to leave Hong Kong, hoping to find YAN YAN. Can KAU reunite with YAN YAN? Go and find the answer in the final episode.
