In the '80s, new ownership saved the franchise from leaving Cleveland. New management brought in the right people to form a promising young contender, the so-called "Team of the '90s." But Cleveland's rise coincided with that of Michael Jordan, and after MJ snuffed out the Cavaliers' late-'80s postseason runs, the "Team of the '90s" self-destructed. Let's remember how Jordan's dominance drove the injured, frustrated Cavs to some bad moves that sunk them back to rock bottom, extending their historic drought through the end of the century.
