DARLING in the FRANXX (2018)
In a post-apocalyptic future, humanity has created a mobile fort city known as Plantation. Inside, pilots are bred and reside in a place called Mistilteinn, often referred to as the "birdcage." These children are kept in ignorance of the world beyond their walls and the endless sky. Their existence is defined by the battles they undertake, fighting against the enigmatic giant creatures known as Kyouryuu in humanoid mechs called Franxx. The act of piloting a Franxx validates their very existence. A youngster named Hiro, also known as Code:016, was once a prodigy but is now considered redundant. In this world, not piloting a Franxx equates to non-existence. That's when "Zero Two," a girl with a pair of horns growing from her head, mysteriously enters his life.
