Greatly disappointed by Man's failure in the imperial examination, Hok forces Man to give up his studies and engage in business so that Man may inherit his wine-making business in the future. Having a strong desire for learning, Suet Ying appreciates Man’s profound and wide learning. They are congenial to each other. Ying has gradually developed a strong admiration for Man.
