Local patrol leader Lun Junwen is devoted to his mother Lun Bashen. They run a candle shop together. Junwen's close friends include Niu Bainan and his uncle Yu Luming. Still unmarried, Junwen pursues his fellow townsman Jiang Lihua, who returns to find her missing brother and sister-in-law, unaware that Junwen is involved in their disappearance. MAN and his mother, PAK SUM, live on selling incent sticks. Although he has already been thirty, he is still single since PAK SUM requires that her daughter-in-law must be able to play mahjong with her. MAN is very obedient and never rejects his mother. He always arranges to have some girls to play with his mother. However, his mother always dislikes them. AU PAK LAM knows a prostitute, AH LOK, by chance. They develop a pure relationship then. After becoming a member of the family Chau, he becomes an officer of the military department and always suppresses the villagers. However, when he is at home, he is controlled by his wife, TUNG TUNG. Therefore, he opens a brothel secretly in order to relax himself. After NGOR and PO are separated, NGOR searches PO and reaches the military department. She meets CHOI there. However, CHOI wants to rape NGOR. However, in the fight, CHOI hurts NGOR's head, making her lose her memory. CHOI thus sends NGOR to the brothel……

WAH tries to find her brother and sister-in-law everywhere. She meets TAK by chance. TAK is attracted by her beauty and thinks that it must be arranged by FAI. Therefore, TAK tries to rape WAH but is hit by WAH instead. After TAK knows the truth, he is still interested in her. Therefore, he asks his followers to catch WAH so as to give him the chance to pursue WAH. WAH does not like TAK because she loves MAN and she dislikes TAK's behaviour. This makes TAK very disappointed and decides to force WAH to obey him.

Finding that WAH is being locked up, MAN thinks that this is supported by PEI. Therefore, he leads the villagers to parade in the village to protest against PEI. At that time, PEI returns to the village and becomes the head of the bad guys. In fact, PEI is ordered by the emperor to return to the village to investigate the disappearance of CHIU and PO. He pretends to be mad. However, he knows that his sons-in-law, FOOK and CHOI, are very wicked. They not only destroy his reputation, but also want to get his wealth and co-operate with FAI to exploit the villagers. At first, FOOK and CHOI also suspect PEI. However, testing him for several times, they find that he is really old and thus neglect him. PEI dislikes FOOK and CHOI's behaviour. He secretly steals money from the gambling dens to help the poor, using the name of 'VAN CHE TO'. He then becomes the admirer of the villagers but the enemy of the bad people……

WAH discovers by chance that NGOR works in the brothel and is mad. WAH is very surprised. She determines to sell herself to the brothel in order to help NGOR to regain her memory and find PO. Although WAH tries her best to cure NGOR, she is in vain. This makes WAH very worried. WAH feels very helpless in the brothel. She feels that TAK likes her. Therefore, she toady TAK in order to get his help to cure NGOR. When MAN knows that, he thinks that WAH has changed her mind and is very anxious. MAN takes a chance to ask WAH to marry him. However, WAH takes the excuse that it is not the suitable time and rejects MAN. MAN thus suspects WAH. LAM helps MAN to trick TAK. However, WAH thinks that this is done by MAN and is very angry. She even suspects MAN's honest behaviour. On the other hand, WAH gets along with TAK for a longer time and finds TAK's merits gradually. She even sympathizes TAK for being tricked.

MAN finds that TAK intends to cheat WAH. He tries to persuade WAH. However, WAH mistakes that MAN is envy of TAK. Their conflict thus grows deeper. TAK finds that he really loves WAH and is very anxious. He even asks someone to test WAH. However, FAI is afraid that TAK will then destroy his plan to get the throne. LAM is afraid that WAH will be obtained by TAK. They then try to arrange a marriage for them. However, MAN does not know that. WAH is very angry when she is forced to marry into MAN's family. She scolds MAN and leaves angrily. In order to ask WAH to forgive him, MAN tries to save enough money to find WAH in the brothel. However, he can only see WAH for a short while.

PAK SUM does not want WAH to leave MAN because of this misunderstanding. She therefore explains everything to WAH. Finally, WAH forgives MAN. Actually, WAH knows that TAK is not real to her. She only tries to test TAK in order to know the truth. When she knows everything, she loves MAN more deeply. PEI suspects that CHIU is killed by FAI and TAK. He then tells everything to MAN and asks MAN to collect the evidence for him. Finally, they find the evidence and wait for the chance to disclose them. PEI then writes to the emperor and tells him FAI and TAK's plan. However, FAI succeeds in explaining the guilt and even declares that PEI has created the trouble. However, the emperor believes FAI and punishes PEI by taking away his power. FAI and TAK then receive the message from the emperor that they should return to the palace to succeed to the throne. FAI is very happy and takes the chance to admit more followers to strength his power.

When FOOK and CHOI know that FAI has got greater power, they try to toady him in order to become an officer. When they recall their past experience in family Chau, they break the relationship with PEI and send him away. PEI is in a difficult situation and all villagers dislike him. MAN understands him and accepts him in his house. Although MAN knows that FAI and TAK's offence, he could do nothing against them. He is even angrier when he knows that they are going to return to the palace to get their reward. When FAI knows NGOR's real identity, he is afraid that NGOR will destroy their plan if she recovers. Therefore, he brings NGOR to the palace together. WAH is worried about NGOR and takes the initiative to follow them. WAH wants to persuade TAK to turn a new leave. Finally, TAK admits that he is just controlled by FAI. MAN is very worried. At that time, PO appears suddenly……
