Muromi-san (2013)
Mukoujima Takurou is a lonely teenager who spends his time fishing at the pier and, to his incredible surprise, fishes up Muromi, a mermaid. Muromi first off doesn't realize she's a mermaid until she meets Takurou. Not only that, she is incredibly dense and crazy and has a drinking problem to top it off. Levia-san tells Muromi-san that that toothed whales returned to sea after having evolved into complete land mammals, which means her ex-boyfriend either evolved into something else or became extinct.

Takkun tries to help them out, but things don’t go too well on that front. A night of drinking together with Levia-san may have helped, but we may never know...
