MAN YAT LONG (Freeman) is transferred back to Hong Kong from his US headquarters. His family members include his parents, CHIU KIT and MEI SIN, two brothers, RAY and CHING, and most important of all his grandpa, MAN TAI LOI, who is a school principal and in charge of everything at home. After being bullied on purpose by his new boss Miss SZE, FREEMAN hurries to meet LOI for lunch and meets Miss SZE again on the street. To keep his bread and butter, KIT approaches his superior, CHUNG, and negotiates his transfer. Knowing CHING is a painting lover, KIT gives CHUNG a famous and expensive painting that belongs to LOI. After being fired, FREEMAN buys a ticket to L.A. to see his girlfriend, ANNIE. Unexpectedly, FREEMAN meets ANNIE, who has just returned, in Hong Kong Airport. KIT, who is not careful enough, throws up after eating some unhygienic food. LOI understands KIT needs to perform night shift duty and therefore allows him to attend the family meeting every Sunday morning. RAY is upset because he has got no reply for his job search so far. FREEMAN comforts RAY by saying that grandpa will support the whole family and tells him not to push himself too hard. Suspecting that he has Parkinson’s disease, LOI goes and consults the doctor, who points out that the report will only be ready in one week. LOI asks SIN whether KIT has a salary rise and gives more money for family expenses, to which KIT is unhappy. LOI also urges FREEMAN to find a job as soon as possible, to which FREEMAN muddles through. His hands are trembling so much that he cannot tie the shoelaces; he is frustrated. LOI goes to a senile citizen center, where a group of Parkinson’s disease patients are doing hand exercise. The next morning, they find out that LOI has not yet returned from his morning walk and worry that he might has got lost because of senile dementia.
