Laxmibai promises Nelson that she will return to take back Jhansi from him. Seeing Ellis hold him at gunpoint, Nelson vows to destroy him. While Ellis is questioning Nelson, one of the British guard hits Ellis on the head, and Ellis collapses. Meanwhile, Laxmibai's confidantes bravely fight Hamilton and his men. Hamilton and Laxmibai come face to face with each other. She exhorts the residents of Jhansi to come out and fight the British, so they put up a valiant fight against them. Hamilton is held captive. Meanwhile, the Jhansi subjects request Laxmibai to celebrate Damodar's birthday in the temple of Jhansi. She presents Damodar with the soil of Jhansi. When Damodar bows to pray, Laxmibai sees Gangadhar blessing him and reminding her to get back the kingdom of Jhansi. Meanwhile, Nelson tortures Ellis and demands to know what his relationship with Laxmibai was that he went against his own people.

To repay her debt of gratitude to Vasudha, Laxmi Bai adopts Anand Rao. Nelson arrives at the court disguised as Sage Sudarshan and gives a box with a fake snake, which camouflages a real snake. He gives it for Damodar's protection and asks for it to be placed by the side of his cot. At night, Nelson has someone play the snake-charmer's instrument, which disturbs Anand Rao. Laxmi Bai and Gangadhar try to pacify him. The snake from the box gets activated and bites Damodar.

Nelson kills the snake so that it cannot be used to remove Damodar's poison. All the snake charmers of Jhansi play their instruments in an attempt to bring the snake back. Seeing Damodar's critical condition, the palace doctor suggests the use of an allopathic antidote. Nelson breaks the last bottle of the antidote and threatens the doctor. Ellis is informed about the presence of Nelson in Jhansi. Laxmi Bai and Tatya Tope arrive at the clinic and, with the aid of Ellis, look for the antidote.

Laxmi Bai finds a bottle of the antidote, which the doctor terms a miracle, but it is too late. Damodar breathes his last. Moropant reminds a grief-stricken Gangadhar about his duty as a husband and as a king. Laxmi Bai and Gangadhar recall Damodar's short life. Vahini Saheb asks Gangadhar to have patience. Damodar is given his last bath. Gangadhar takes Damodar's foot and hand prints and takes him to perform the last rites. Laxmi Bai breaks down, and Nelson rejoices at his victory.

During Damodar's last journey, Ellis warns Nelson. Happy with Nelson's success at killing Damodar, Lord Dalhousie reinstates Nelson and promises him the post of Assistant Governor General if he kills Gangadhar. Amidst tears, Damodar is buried with his toy horse. A mournful Laxmi Bai misses Damodar. She apologises to Anand Rao for immersing herself in her grief and neglecting him. Feeling dejected and incapable, Gangadhar finds no purpose in life. Laxmi Bai urges him to find solace in Anand Rao.

Unable to accept Anand Rao as Damodar's replacement, a broken Gangadhar lauds Laxmi Bai's inner strength. Ellis confronts the British doctor for aiding Damodar's murder. The public becomes violent and enters a church in their pursuit of the doctor. Ellis informs Gangadhar about the critical situation. Laxmi Bai motivates Gangadhar to take charge. Nelson instigates the crowd by firing at the people. Gangadhar is stabbed trying to rescue a child.

Moropant questions a restless Laxmi Bai. Seeing Gangadhar injured, Nelson gleefully asks Jhansi's ministers to prepare for his last rites. An angry Gangadhar pulls Nelson down from his horse. Ellis urges Tatya Tope and the ministers to take Gangadhar for the treatment of his injury. Gangadhar makes Tatya Tope and the others promise that Laxmi Bai will not be told about his injury. Gangadhar calls for an urgent meeting in the court wherein he declares Anand Rao as the next King of Jhansi.

Gangadhar interrupts Laxmi Bai's questions and tells Ellis to expedite the formalities concerning the legal adoption of Anand Rao. Gangadhar and Laxmi Bai perform the `puja' for Anand Rao's adoption. Ellis signs the legal document and, while countersigning, Gangadhar's strength wanes and his condition is out in the open. Nelson is unhappy to see Ellis arrive with the legal document proclaiming Jhansi's safety. Everyone offers fervent prayers for Gangadhar's recovery.

Laxmi Bai imagines Gangadhar's death and her widowhood. She is woken up from her stupor by a fakir, who urges her not to lose time. Nelson asks Rao Dulhajo to kill Gangadhar. Nelson instigates the people of Jhansi with false news about Gangadhar's death and the plan of the royalty to abscond. Nelson stabs the British doctor, and the dying doctor confesses the truth to Laxmi Bai. With the ministers trying to control the unrest, Rao Dulhajo gets the opportunity to stab Gangadhar.

Laxmi Bai hides Gangadhar and puts the doctor's body in Gangadhar's place. Laxmi Bai catches Rao Dulhajo's feet, but he escapes. The public unrest increases and they demand to see Gangadhar. Jhansi is overjoyed to see Gangadhar. Nelson and Rao Dulhajo are shocked. Laxmi Bai encourages Gangadhar, who has lost the will to live. To find the attacker, Laxmi Bai presides over the court. Rao Dulhajo tries to blame Raghunath for the security lapse. Laxmi Bai attacks Nelson in the commissary.

Lord Dalhousie promises Ali Bahadur the throne of Jhansi within 10 days by crippling Jhansi with economic pressure. Gangadhar approaches the merchants to loan him money on interest to set up a large army. Ali Bahadur bribes the greedy merchants, and they defect. The merchants decline Gangadhar's proposal. Ali Bahadur presents himself in the court of Jhansi as their ally. Ellis reads a message from Lord Dalhousie stating the East India Company's decision to make Ali Bahadur the King of Jhansi.

Ali Bahadur is arrested. Laxmi Bai tries to dissuade Gangadhar from going to Kanpur, but he leaves to meet Lord Dalhousie. Consumed with greed, Ali Bahadur states his overconfidence in getting the throne of Jhansi to Rao Dulhajo. Lord Dalhousie deceives Gangadhar into believing that, in return for the British flag being reinstated on the commissary, he would maintain Gangadhar's rulership and give the merchants' money to him. Laxmi Bai threatens Ali Bahadur. Rao Dulhajao helps him escape.

Laxmi Bai saves Tatya Tope from the attackers. They find a lifeless Gangadhar in the lake. Tatya Tope blames himself for the lapse in security. Whilst everyone gives up, Laxmi Bai refuses to accept the fact. Everyone's hopes are revived when they see some movement in Gangadhar. An unconscious Gangadhar is brought back to Jhansi and a deathly silence welcomes them. Lord Dalhousie refuses to believe Ali Bahadur till an official statement is issued from the palace regarding Gangadhar's death.

Gangadhar refuses to consume the allopathic medicine given by Ellis's doctor. Everyone is pleased to see a conscious Gangadhar. Gangadhar tells the priests to chant the mantras for the crowning ceremony and places his crown on Anand Rao. Gangadhar breathes his last longing for Damodar. Jhansi is grief-stricken. Losing the desire to live, Laxmi Bai states the desire to give up everything. Vahini Saheb comforts her. Dalhousie rejoices and welcomes Ali Bahadur to be the King of Jhansi.

Laxmi Bai requests to be left alone with Gangadhar's body. She cleans his wound and readies him for his last journey. Remembering her special moments with Gangadhar, Laxmi Bai's sole thought is to join Gangadhar and Damodar. The people of Jhansi plead with Laxmi Bai not to abandon them. Ali Bahadur motivates his soldiers to capture Jhansi and, putting his flag in the British commissary, heads towards the fort. Gangadhar is laid on the pyre, and the widow's ritual begins for Laxmi Bai.

Raghunath and Tatya Tope urge a numb Laxmi Bai to defend Jhansi from Ali Bahadur. The people of Jhansi plead with her to save them. Laxmi Bai is woken from her stupor by Gangadhar's soul, who admonishes her for ignoring the pleas of the people and urges her to return to her identity of Kranti Guru. Rising like a phoenix, she orders Tatya Guru to combat Ali Bahadur while she pays her last respects to Gangadhar's lit pyre. Laxmi Bai threatens Ali Bahadur and forces him to run for his life.

Laxmi Bai cuts Ali Bahadur's arm with her sword. Dalhousie is angry at his plan being foiled again. Looking at her portrait sketched by Gangadhar, Laxmi Bai misses him and Damodar. Amongst Gangadhar's clothes, she finds his last letter written to her, and she breaks down. Laxmi Bai announces a warning to all the traitors, especially the merchants, that Gangadhar's ashes will not be immersed till the British are ousted from Jhansi. Hamilton, a cruel British officer, gets orders to go to Jhansi.

A furious Laxmibai asks Shyam Chaudhary and the other treacherous traders to leave Jhansi for supporting the British and not protecting their motherland. Shyam Chaudhary apologises to her and promises to lend her his support. Moropant tells Laxmibai that Anand needs to perform a ritual and be cleansed with Holy Water. When the ritual gets completed, Moropant and the others are shocked to see that Anand is missing. A worried Moropant informs Laxmibai that Anand is missing. Hamilton, who arrives in Jhansi, sees Anand alone and crying in the forest. He realises that Anand is the Prince of Jhansi. Later, the East India Company flag is hoisted at the Commissionerate by Hamilton. Just then, he sees Anand crying and his dogs barking at Anand. Meanwhile, Laxmibai pleads with her subjects to help her find Anand. Ellis too promises to trace Anand. The wicked Hamilton decides to set his dogs loose on Anand.

Ellis arrives at the nick of time and rescues Anand from Hamilton's dogs. Hamilton introduces himself as the Special Political Agent of Jhansi. Hamilton accuses Ellis of not annexing Jhansi and promises to set things right now. Meanwhile, Laxmibai is delighted to hear that Anand is safe. Ellis then informs Laxmibai about Hamilton and his motive to create problems because the throne of Jhansi was now empty. After hearing about Hamilton from Ellis, Laxmibai decides to hold a coronation ceremony for Anand. He is renamed Damodar Rao Nevalkar and crowned the king. Hamilton informs her that the East India Company has refused to accept the adoption as legal, and that's why as per the Doctrine of Lapse, Jhansi would be annexed. She vows not to ever give Jhansi away. Ellis then tells Hamilton that the Queen of England had the right to reject Lord Dalhousie's new order, and that Laxmibai could challenge it.

When Laxmibai talks about war, Hamilton mocks her about her inferior weapons compared with the might of East India Company, but she warns him that every child in Jhansi would fight the British and drive them out. Shyam Chaudhary arrives then and declares that the traders would sacrifice everything they have to protect their motherland. Keeping the impending implementation of the Charter Act in mind, Lord Dalhousie realises that he cannot afford to take a wrong step, so he decides to appeal against Laxmibai instead. Laxmibai hires her trusted lawyer and confidante, John Lang, to fight her case in England. Three years pass by, and there is still no verdict about the case. On the other hand, the East India Company continues to create havoc and annex Bundelkhand and other weaker states so that they are unable to help Jhansi.

Lord Dalhousie gets anxious hearing about the revolt arising in his army, so he decides to use the enmity between the neighbouring states of Orchha and Jhansi to his advantage. Hamilton asks him to fuel the bitterness between Ladai Sarkar, the Queen of Orchha and Laxmibai. Meanwhile, John Lang informs Laxmibai that the Queen of England has rejected her appeal, so Laxmibai willingly accepts the verdict and promises that a united India would create a revolt that would drive the British out of India. However, she is disheartened to see the malfunctioning ammunitions in Jhansi and is informed that Ghaus Khan makes the best cannonballs. On the other hand, while Ghaus Khan fires the cannon to test it, Hamilton watches him and quietly puts a part of the wreckage inside the Orchha border.

The King of Datia welcomes the royal members to the game and thanks Ladai Sarkar and Laxmibai for participating. Ladai Sarkar gets furious when the spectators assure Laxmibai that she will emerge victorious again. She vows to have the flag of Orchha fly high this time. The game begins and the two queens take a different route. During the course of the game, Laxmibai tries to broker peace but Ladai Sarkar vows not to befriend Laxmibai because the Nevalkar family had betrayed Orchha. Laxmibai tries to convince her to return Ghaus Khan but Ladai Sarkar asks her to return Jhansi to her! Laxmibai then tells her that it was a ploy by the British to annex not just Jhansi but Orchha as well.

The two queens prod away on separate ways, and a scream is then heard. Meanwhile, in Jhansi, Raghunath informs his army that Laxmibai has been held captive by Ladai Sarkar and readies them for a war against Orchha and its queen. The informant tells Nelson about the turn of events. Nelson is happy. When Hamilton informs Nathey Khan, who is like a brother to Ladai Sarkar as well as the commander of her army, about the unfolding events, he is surprised at the irresponsibility of his sister to take on the mighty Laxmibai. Just then, he is informed that Ladai Sarkar's life may be in danger and she may have been held captive by enemies. Hamilton instigates Nathey Khan against the King of Datia for joining hands with Laxmibai. Nathey Khan readies his army for a battle against the King of Datia. Hamilton is happy.

Raghunath and Tatya Tope release Ghaus Khan from prison. Back at the playground, the spectators laud Ladai Sarkar when they see her approaching the finishing line. However, her happiness is short-lived when she hears Laxmibai tell her that she was carrying the flag of Jhansi! Laxmibai emerges as the winner and she posts the flags of Jhansi and Orchha on the finishing line. She tells the King of Datia that her motive was to have a united India to drive the British away. Hamilton arrives then and informs Ladai Sarkar that Tatya Tope had entered the palace of Orchha with his battalion. Ladai Sarkar is enraged with Laxmibai for betraying Orchha once again and declares war. Laxmibai tries to explain to Hamilton that the British want to create internal enmity, and urges Ladai Sarkar to join forces against them.

Ladai Sarkar tells everyone that Jhansi and Orchha were united now. Hamilton asks Ladai Sarkar to check out the truth in Orchha, so she slaps him and has him arrested. Laxmibai promises him that there would soon be a day when all of India would unite and he'd have to run! Laxmibai prays that Raghunath and Tatya Tope are in Jhansi and not in Orchha. Ladai Sarkar takes Laxmibai to her ancestral temple and narrates tales about her lineage. Back in Jhansi, Moropant is shocked to learn that Laxmibai and Ladai Sarkar have become friends, so he senses a conspiracy. Meanwhile, Ladai Sarkar takes Laxmibai near her palace and orders that she be arrested! Ladai Sarkar warns her that Jhansi will once again belong to Orchha. Laxmibai is stunned at being betrayed.

Nelson sends Laxmibai to her cell. On the other hand, Hamilton vows to annex Orchha along with Jhansi to seek vengeance for getting slapped by Ladai Sarkar. Meanwhile, Ladai Sarkar calls for Laxmibai to be presented in court. She taunts Laxmibai that she could make the British as well as her dance to her tune, and that the British would give her their army if she needed. Ladai Sarkar then goes to burn the flag of Jhansi but Laxmibai retorts that the flag belonged not just to Jhansi but to entire India. Laxmibai then jumps on the burning flag and salvages it. She accuses Ladai Sarkar of becoming a queen only after being the lackey of the British. Laxmibai also accuses her of being a coward. Ladai Sarkar then accepts Laxmibai's challenge for a battle.

Laxmibai and Ladai Sarkar address their respective armies and goad them to fight the enemy, although with stark different perspectives. A fierce battle ensues between Orchha and Jhansi. One of Orchha's soldiers throws a spear at Laxmibai and she falls from her horse. Laxmibai is held captive. She then recalls Anand preparing her for the battle and asking her to return victorious. Laxmibai fights back with renewed vigour. However, the enemy traps her into falling in a pit. To her surprise, she sees Acharya come to her rescue. The battle again continues and by sunset it is declared that Laxmibai's army is the winner for the day. Laxmibai reminds Ladai Sarkar that she must release one of her jailed warriors. Raghunath Singh is released and he thanks her. A furious Ladai Sarkar tells her confidantes that they must win the war, by fair means or unfair!

Laxmibai's aim was to win the battle without deceit, and was more worried about the role the British would play in this fight. However, Ellis assures her that the East India Company would not interfere in the battle unless Ladai Sarkar had other plans. Meanwhile, Hamilton refuses to help Ladai Sarkar and warns her that Orchha and she will be ruined. Laxmibai sends Rao Dulajo to ensure that Ladai Sarkar too would not seek any help from the British and asks Ellis to be the witness. Ellis leaves the Orchha palace after getting the document signed by Ladai Sarkar. Ladai Sarkar orders that Rao Dulajo be duly entertained. In a drunken state, Rao Dulajo confides to the courtesan about the Adivasi tribes' poisonous arrows which Laxmibai refused to take but could destroy an entire army.

The battle begins, and Laxmibai's first line of men fall prey to the deadly arrows used by Ladai Sarkar, so she orders her second line of soldiers to attack the enemy. However, their arrows fail to hurt the enemy, so Laxmibai bravely wards off their arrow. Just then, Laxmibai's Women's Army arrive to fight. When Raghunath sees his soldiers dying one by one, he pleads with Laxmibai not to put her life in danger. The Prime Minister too pleads with her. Just then, the bugle is blown, and a triumphant Ladai Sarkar announces that victory was hers today! Laxmibai is devastated to see the dead bodies of her soldiers. As per the conditions laid, Ladai Sarkar orders that Tatya Tope be brought to her to be killed. When the cremation of the soldiers is on, Laxmibai recalls Bandu talking about the fatal arrows.

Rao Dulajo tells Laxmibai and her confidantes that Nathey Khan is the bravest of the soldiers and it would be tough to capture him. Laxmibai says that her motive was only to end the war, and for that, all she needed was Ladai Sarkar, dead or alive. She declares that victory would be theirs the next day. Laxmibai and Ladai Sarkar engage in a fierce fight and Laxmibai overpowers her. However, the latter manages to escape. She holds Nathey Khan captive and promises him that he would fight for Jhansi now! She warns him that when the commander is held captive, the morale of its soldiers gets shaken. Nathey Khan threatens that Ladai Sarkar will never bow or get defeated. Laxmibai vows to have his illusion broken the next day. Nathey Khan says that she cannot harm him because Tatya Tope was in a prison in Orchha.

Ladai Sarkar gets furious with Tatya Tope for slapping her. She orders that he be imprisoned. An enraged Tatya Tope taunts her that Laxmibai can win the battle without him but she cannot win it without Nathey Khan! Ladai Sarkar then goes to Hamilton to seek the help of the British Army. He refuses and says that he had warned her against fighting Laxmibai. Ladai Sarkar reminds him that Laxmibai was the only woman who had shaken the East India Company, so even he wanted Laxmibai defeated. Ladai Sarkar seeks gunpowder from him in huge amounts. Meanwhile, in Jhansi, Damodar refuses to eat anything from Moropant's hand. At Laxmibai's camp, a messenger from Orchha reads a letter from Ladai Sarkar for Laxmibai saying that she was willing to exchange Tatya Tope for Nathey Khan in the battlefield.

Acharya advises her to heed Damodar's wish and stay back. Her confidantes assure her that they would not only bring back Tatya Tope safely but break Ladai Sarkar's arrogance as well. Raghunath and the Prime Minister confront Ladai Sarkar in the battlefield and demand the release of Tatya Tope, and ask her to abide by the conditions laid. Tatya Tope and Nathey Khan start walking toward their respective camps when fire is lit near the ground filled with gunpowder. Ladai Sarkar gestures to Nathey Khan to run towards the galloping horse. Tatya Tope too runs but, unfortunately, steps on the ground covered with gunpowder and dies in the blast. Raghunath and the Prime Minister are shocked at his death. Acharya declares the end of the battle for the day.

Laxmibai is totally shattered to see Tatya Guru's dead body. She declares that she can no longer fight this battle. Rao Dulajo informs Ladai Sarkar that Laxmibai will not fight the battle anymore. Ladai Sarkar is delighted that she will be able to capture Jhansi soon, and invites Rao Dulajo for the celebrations. On the other hand, Ladai Sarkar vows to Tatya Tope that he will become the commander of her army, but he promises to sing praises only of Laxmibai. Ladai Sarkar then informs him that Laxmibai was mourning his death. However, Tatya Tope warns Ladai Sarkar that Laxmibai will surely come in search of him. Meanwhile, Laxmibai promises Acharya that Tatya Guru and she will write history in the battle the next day, because none other than Kranti Guru would rescue Tatya Guru!

When Laxmibai asks Acharya if she was being amoral in her strategy, he assures her that she must abide by the duty of a disciple. Laxmibai tells him that she will be taking a few members of the Women's Army and asks him to create a special chariot for her. Acharya and his disciples make a chariot with sharp spokes near its wheels. Meanwhile, Ladai Sarkar continues to torture Tatya Tope but he vows to confront her in the battlefield the next day! Laxmibai dons herself as Kranti Guru and leaves to save Tatya Guru. She promises a sleeping Damodar that she would free Tatya Guru by the next morning. Laxmibai sets out to achieve her mission with her Women's Army. On the other hand, at Ladai Sarkar's camp, celebrations are on, and Rao Dulajo too participates in it. Laxmibai lights torches along one side of the hill. Seeing this, a guard informs Nathey Khan that they are going to be attacked.

Nathey Khan orders his men to head towards the lit torches to fight the army from Jhansi. Laxmibai's Women's Army set the camp area aflame. Ladai Sarkar orders all her soldiers to attack, including those guarding Tatya Tope. Rao Dulajo decides to escape. Ladai Sarkar and Nathey Khan go in two different directions with their soldiers. Laxmibai threatens one of the soldiers near the camp to tell her where the prisoners were held. Kranti Guru sees Ghaus Khan and Bandu, and reveals her true identity to them. However, they say that they were not aware about Tatya Guru's whereabouts. She asks them to free the other prisoners, and then sets to fight the soldiers to search for Tatya Guru. She promises to make a sacrifice to appease the goddess. Laxmibai proudly declares that she has brought back Tatya Guru. Rao Dulajo is shocked. Ladai Sarkar is desperate to find out about Laxmibai's strategy and enters the tent where Tatya Tope was held prisoner. She senses something beneath her feet and unearths an inscription of Goddess Durga. She tries to decode the drawing. Tatya Tope explains to Laxmibai and his confidantes the strategy for the next day. He asks his men to change the war tactics and not offer support to the queen. He says that their first aim would be to surround Ladai Sarkar. On the other hand, Ladai Sarkar manages to decipher the drawing and tells Nathey Khan about Jhansi's battle plans. She orders her men not to attack the warriors until Laxmibai was close to her. Ladai Sarkar explains her counter-strategies to them.

Ghaus Khan tells Tatya Tope that he needs to test the cannonballs before using it in the battle. A worried Laxmibai sees images of Gangadhar asking Damodar to wait and wonders why he's asking his son to wait. Laxmibai tells Tatya Tope about her nightmare. He assures that she and he would not let any harm befall Jhansi. Meanwhile, Rao Dulajo informs Nelson that only Moropant and Damodar were in the palace. Nelson gives Rao Dulajo a letter for Laxmibai supposedly written by Ellis. When on his way, Ellis sees a veiled woman crying but to his shock, masked men surround him. A fight ensues but Ellis gets hit on the head and he collapses. On the other hand, the British attack the soldiers inside the Jhansi Fort.

Tatya Guru allows Laxmibai to leave for Jhansi. Laxmibai tells him that she was entrusting her camp to him. Just then, Rao Dulajo come and informs her that all was well in Jhansi. Rao Dulajo shows her the letter apparently written by Ellis. Laxmibai asserts that her victory the next day would be Damodar's gift for his next birthday. Meanwhile, Ladai Sarkar discusses the next day's strategies with Hamilton and says that she will get back Jhansi. Ghaus Khan shows Laxmibai and her confidantes the power of the cannonballs created by him. At the break of dawn, Orchha and Jhansi armies assemble on the battlefield. Laxmibai tells her soldiers that she never wanted to wage a battle against fellow Indians but Ladai Sarkar compelled her to. When Hamilton reads Nelson's message that he has captured Jhansi, he is delighted and directs his army to head to Jhansi. Meanwhile, a triumphant Ladai Sarkar says that Jhansi would soon belong to Orchha. Her happiness is short-lived when she sees Hamilton and his men retreat. Laxmibai reminds Ladai Sarkar that they British are their enemies but Ladai Sarkar goes to kill her. However, Laxmibai drops her to the ground and she faces a humiliating defeat. Tatya Tope enchains Ladai Sarkar and Nathey Khan and takes them to Laxmibai's camp. Nathey Khan manages to free himself and stabs Laxmibai in the back. She collapses. The physician tells Tatya Tope that Laxmibai is in coma. Even in her comatose state, Laxmibai continues to dream about Gangadhar and her past. A dejected Tatya Guru tells Laxmibai that Jhansi awaits her.

Tatya Tope tells Laxmibai that Damodar will not be able to live without her. Moropant realises that he must find a way to convey the news to Laxmibai about Jhansi's annexation. So one of the soldiers pretends to be dead and the British soldiers drag him out of the palace along with the other dead bodies. He then escapes from the fort. Meanwhile, Acharya tells Tatya Tope that something untoward has happened and he will have to revive Laxmibai. At the other tent, Nathey Khan starts laughing aloud saying that only Ladai Sarkar was the queen because Laxmibai would not survive. Tatya Tope decides to teach Nathey Khan a lesson and drags him with a rope. Tatya Tope announces to Ladai Sarkar and Nathey Khan that Laxmibai is still alive. Nathey Khan pleads for mercy but Tatya Tope reminds him how he had backstabbed Laxmibai in return for her kindness.

Hamilton and Laxmibai come face to face with each other. She exhorts the residents of Jhansi to come out and fight the British, so they put up a valiant fight against them. Hamilton is held captive. Laxmibai gets Ellis treated. When she realises that Tatya Guru is not pleased with her decision, she promises to get back the fort. Lord Dalhousie seeks to have huge reinforcements sent to Jhansi to help Nelson protect Jhansi Fort. Laxmibai tells her confidantes that there were very few British soldiers inside the fort presently and thus, it was the best time to attack. Ghaus Khan gets his ammunitions and men towards Jhansi. At the camp, Laxmibai decides that she will attack and not wait for Ghaus Khan's army or hers to arrive. Laxmibai decides to enter Jhansi Fort secretly but wonders how. Meanwhile, Nelson's strategy is to surround Laxmibai's army. Nelson revels in the royal luxuries and dons the king's attire. Nelson even enters Laxmibai's chamber and throws away her painting with Gangadhar. Laxmibai narrates about Gangadhar's and her life to little Damodar.

Nelson goes down the secret passage and is delighted to see the tunnel end at Jhansi town. Meanwhile, Ghaus Khan orders that the huge boulders be moved so that they can reach Jhansi faster by this route. Laxmibai is shocked and angry to see Nelson dressed as a king and strutting in the palace. Unknown to Laxmibai, Nelson informs Rao Dulajo about the secret tunnel and tells him to ask Laxmibai, Tatya Tope and Raghunath to enter the fort from the tunnel so that anyone accompanying her would get killed. Laxmibai too talks about the tunnel to her confidantes, including Rao Dulajo. Rao Dulajo suggests that she take either Tatya Guru or Raghunath along too but she says that she will enter the fort alone. However, Tatya Guru insists that she not go alone, so she decides to take Rao Dulajo, much to his shock! Rao Dulajo immediately sends a note asking Nelson to stop his plans but Raghunath comes just then and he drops the note.

Laxmibai's men inform Laxmibai that there is a huge boulder kept above the tunnel. A very worried Rao Dulajo tells that they are doomed because there is no escape. Meanwhile, Nelson triumphantly watches the mayhem in Jhansi. Inside the tunnel, one of Laxmibai's soldier's legs gets stuck under a boulder, so she asks Rao Dulajo to remove it. The soldier begs her to carry on but she promises to take him out of trouble and they succeed. Laxmibai finally manages to find an escape route. Hamilton decides to lay a trap for Laxmibai's confidantes and orders that the fort gates be opened so that his soldiers can kill Tatya Tope and the others. However, Tatya Tope and his soldiers fight bravely the British.

Nelson is shell-shocked to see his wife Mrs. Rose Nelson and his sister Ms. Jane Nelson with Laxmibai. Laxmibai orders that his soldiers surrender and that he release the prisoners of Jhansi. A frightened Nelson asks his men to drop their weapons. Laxmibai then orders that he vacate the palace and promises him a safe passage. When Nelson accuses her of kidnapping innocent women, she retorts that he too had seized her palace, holding Damodar at gunpoint! Rose pleads with Nelson to leave Jhansi but Hamilton refuses to vacate the palace, and orders Laxmibai to kill Nelson's family! The people of Jhansi too demand blood for blood but Laxmibai asserts that she will not kill them. Laxmibai assures Nelson that she will not harm his family but not release them either unless he vacates the palace.

Laxmibai assures Damodar that they would get back their fort today. Damodar promises never to let the British ever enter their fort again. A British officer, Dunlop, spots Ghaus Khan approaching with his men and attacks them but Ghaus Khan manages to escape. Laxmibai asks Nelson to take the safe passage but Hamilton warns Nelson not to. Nelson gets furious with Hamilton and holds him at gunpoint. Nelson asks his soldiers to drop their weapons first and leave the fort. On the other hand, Dunlop orders his men to enter the fort from the same gate from which Nelson will leave and thus corner Laxmibai. Unaware to Dunlop and his men, Ghaus Khan overhears this. Meanwhile, Nelson reaches the gate from which he will leave and asks Laxmibai to release his family. Laxmibai obliges. Nelson then asks Laxmibai that the gate be opened, so she asks her gatekeeper to do the needful.

Before Ghaus Khan is able to inform Laxmibai about the British ploy, a knife is thrown at his back. An injured Ghaus Khan informs Laxmibai that all their soldiers have been killed. Seeing the British Army outnumbering theirs, Tatya Guru tells Laxmibai that they must leave Jhansi but looking at the atrocities being inflicted on her subjects, she decides to fight them. Tatya Guru says that Jhansi would be orphaned if anything untoward were to happen to her. Chimnabai says that their homes have been set afire and vows never to forgive Laxmibai if her unborn baby was hurt. Laxmibai asks Tatya Guru and the others to escape but decides to stay back herself. Laxmibai vows to die for Jhansi. Nelson says that Jhansi is theirs and they only need to finish off the Queen of Jhansi. Rose scolds Nelson for wanting to kill the woman who had saved his family!

Nelson and Hamilton rejoice at their victory. Nelson promises Hamilton that there will be song and dance, and gets Motibai to court but she refuses to comply to his wishes, so Nelson whips her. Nelson orders that she bent sent to the dungeon. Later, Rose meets Motibai in prison and apologises. Motibai pleads with her to help Laxmibai. Laxmibai wakes up with a start and wonders where she is. Sunder informs Laxmibai that the British had surrounded Jhansi and she was brought here for security reasons. A furious Laxmibai demands to know who dared to bring her here. Sunder replies that it was Tatya Tope. Meanwhile, Nelson tries to lure Rose with the riches and luxuries of Jhansi and says that the royal bed was now theirs, so she slaps him.

Tatya Guru tells Laxmibai that giving up one's life for one's motherland was a matter of pride but intentionally walking into the jaws of death was not bravery. Laxmibai warns him she cannot save her life while her subjects were being inflicted to atrocities. Meanwhile, Nelson mentions his strategy to attack Laxmibai so that there is no escape this time. Tatya Guru and Laxmibai continue to fight, when Rose asks them to stop fighting amongst themselves and let her husband's motive succeed. She tells Laxmibai that someone from their group has informed Nelson about her whereabouts and that Nelson would be here with the British Army. The next morning, Nelson, Hamilton and Dunlop arrive with their respective armies to Laxmibai's hideout. Nelson gets furious with Rao Dulajo when he finds the premises empty. If any of them had possessed even an ounce of the love that Laxmibai had for her motherland, then India's history would have been different! Fear of the British and greed for power made all the kings of the other princely states decline from offering help to Laxmibai. In Jhansi, Kranti Guru is surprised to hear about a reward from the British on her head as well as for anyone providing information about her. Meanwhile, Karma who is accompanying Dunlop to Gwalior with Jhansi's treasury, asks his soldiers to take a tea break. He then writes a letter to Mangal Pandey saying that Jhansi's treasury was being taken to Gwalior and that it must be returned to Queen Laxmibai. Karma also states that he regrets to have raised his hands on his dear queen and vows to protect his sister. However, the letter falls into the hands of Dunlop! Raghunath and Tatya Tope decide to implement their next plan of action. On the other hand, Nelson tells the subjects of Jhansi that the Queen of Jhansi was inside the barrel. When they refuse to believe him, he opens the barrel as proof.

Due to a nearly dead Dunlop's scribbling on mud, Nelson assumes that Jhansi's treasury is in Rampur. Laxmi Bai's plot hoodwinks Nelson into thinking that she has it somewhere else.

At Lord Canning's orders, the British loot the trade provisions going out of Jhansi and look for Laxmi Bai's allies. Nana Saheb accepts the pension which Hillersdon, the Collector of Kanpur, offers him to leave Bithoor. Under the disguise of Rana Bankura, Laxmi Bai surrounds Nelson and is surprised to see another Rana Bankura present.

Laxmi Bai sees Nelson arresting and whipping Rana, taking her to be Laxmi Bai. When she tries to save Rana, Tatya Tope stops her from exposing herself. Laxmi Bai asks everyone to keep Rana's arrest a secret and let them continue to believe that Laxmi Bai is arrested. Rana writes a letter to Laxmi Bai asking her to stop worrying about her. When Rana's husband comes looking for her, Laxmi Bai realises that Rana is Jhalkari Bai. Laxmi Bai promises to save Jhalkari Bai.

The people of Jhansi try to stop Nelson and his men from taking Jhalkari away, and Laxmi Bai gets ready to leave for Kanpur. Nelson puts a sword against Jhalkari's neck but is interrupted by a messenger who informs him that Lord Canning will execute Jhalkari the next morning. A drunk Nelson finds a letter by Laxmi Bai saying that he will release her. Aided by her comrades, Laxmi Bai appears before Nelson who is shocked to see her free and runs to check. Laxmi Bai hits him and rescues Jhalkari.

Nelson's superior warns him that he will have to exit India ignominiously if he doesn't nab Laxmi Bai. Laxmi Bai tells Jhansi's cheery locals that the Britons had never held her hostage. Nelson finds a 'mangalsutra' and suspects that it could belong to Laxmi Bai's lookalike. Laxmi Bai tells Rose what a 'mangalsutra' means.

Jhalkari Bai tells Laxmi Bai about her missing 'mangalsutra'. Rao Dulhajo informs Nelson about a secret way to Jhansi. A goldsmith tells a disguised Nelson that the 'mangalsutra' is Jhalkari's. Nelson's bundle with Jhalkari's 'mangalsutra' in it, falls down. Laxmi Bai gives it to him. She tells Tatya Tope to scan Jhansi to track Nelson. A drunk Pooran tells Nelson's Indian traitor about Jhalkari and Laxmi Bai's friendly bond and agrees to take them to the palace for Jhalkari's 'gauna'.

Laxmi Bai urges Tatya Tope to watch out for Nelson's presence. A disguised Nelson joins Pooran's entourage to attend his wife Jhalkari Bai's marital 'gauna' and sneaks into Jhansi's royal palace to see Jhalkari Bai. After Laxmi Bai sees him, Hariya takes him away. Laxmi Bai applies 'tilak' on the entourage's members, including Nelson. Karma soon confirms her evidential suspicion that he is indeed Nelson. A blackened Jhalkari is presented to the guests as part of a ritual, which fools Nelson.

The anglicised Yuvraj hears his pro-British father assuring the British governor that they would help the Britons nab the pro-people rebel Rana Bankura. Laxmi Bai rules in favour of a widow's remarriage. Tatya Tope informs Laxmi Bai that many anti-British states are in touch with Jhansi. As his mother says that she has found a bride for him, Kunwar reminisces lovingly his encounter with Manu as a child.

A disguised Karma saves a gypsy Laxmi Bai from Nelson. As Ran Bankura, Laxmi Bai vows to explain the treachery to barrister Yuvraj. Karma, disguised as Ran Bankura, throws grenades in Yuvraj's gig's path, uprooting him. As Nelson and his sepoys follow Karma, Laxmi Bai, disguised as Ran Bankura, berates Yuvraj for being a traitor. Their fight makes Yuvraj almost fall off a cliff. As Laxmi Bai and Karma flee with Yuvraj's legal handbag, Nelson shoots her, but the bullet kills King Shivraj.

A disguised Karma overhears Yuvraj telling Nelson that Mangal Pandey's secret hanging will occur in Chirgaon. As Karma drives Yuvraj and Nelson to Chirgaon, a philosophising fakir annoys Yuvraj and Nelson. The fakir later hands Karma's message to Laxmi Bai, which reveals the way to the hanging site. Yuvraj and Nelson's soldiers ambush Karma. En route to the site, Laxmi Bai's loyalists and pro-British troops fight bloodily. Laxmi Bai opens a gig thinking that Pandey is inside, but finds Yuvraj.

After the Peshwa fights Modh's king, a sore Ran Bankura and Modh's king start a three-round sword fight. A hurt Tatya Tope, Ghaus Khan and Raghunath seek to free Laxmi Bai and Karma. Ran Bankura wins the first round, during which Nana Saheb recalls Manu's sword fighting. In the second round, Ran Bankura's sword poisons King Yuvraj. Rousing people's fury for Ran Bankura, Tikka Singh, who had poisoned her sword, summons a mad elephant to kill her. Karma is dragged to be hung.

In a secret meet with her royal Indian allies in Rao Dulhajo's presence, Laxmi Bai declares her plan to detonate an explosives-filled cake during the peace ball on June 1 to kill top British officers, and she gets popular backing. Queen Victoria authorises Rose to finish Laxmi Bai.
