The journey starts in Vienna, the cultural stronghold of Johan Strauss. More culture can be found in St. Polten and Innsbruck. Then we arrive in the pilgrimage site of Mariazell. The Zillertalbahn and the Achenseebahn take us to the heart of Tyrol.

From Cape Town we travel to Pretoria by luxury steam train. We enjoy the beautiful South African environment and go back in time to the diamond mining at Kimberley. Naturally we make a real safari trip during this trip.

This episode takes us on a journey through the southern islands of New Zealand, where we visit the modern cities of Greymouth, Christchurch and Queenstown. We will experience what happened in the colonial past and the gold rush.

Historical narrow gauge railways lead us to the Trimmelkam and Ampflwang. Via Gmünd we travel further under steam and pass the 'Waldviertel' a stone's throw from the Czech Republic.
