New teacher of Wan Ting Po-shui Memorial College WONG YEUK-SZE is appointed the Assistant Class Teacher of Form 4A. On the first day of the new school term, SZE’s partner and the Main Class Teacher of 4A TSANG CHING-LEUNG turns up late for work. The Principal is shocked to hear that the school has lost another batch of some sixty students. He is so appalled by the news that he has fallen down in a faint straight away. KAR TSAI-CHOI, who has just returned from his business trip in the United Kingdom, bumps into LEUNG at the car park and CHOI’s antique tea set is soon broken. CHOI requests compensation from LEUNG and LEUNG’s uncle FONG CHI-KEUNG, but in vain. He gets even more irritated when he knows that LEUNG is his next door neighbor.… ...

Since he is repeatedly picked on by CHOI, LEUNG believes that he will be the one to be sacked and therefore plans to look for a new job. But with the economic downturn, it is really hard for LEUNG to secure a post. He is left with no alternative and has to continue to put up with CHOI. CHOI is so impressed by SZE’s enthusiasm and commitment and has decided to adopt her proposal, which has irked a number of teaching staff. Two students have got into a fight at school. CHOI tries but fails to settle the dispute, and worse than that, he has further angered the lads. FUNG opines that CHOI does not at all understand teenagers. CHOI’s uncle KAR WAH-BIU moves into CHOI’s home in order to look out for him, which has, however, caused CHOI a great deal of trouble. CHOI is so annoyed that he has finally sent BIU to a guesthouse. CHOI passes by when SZE and LEUNG are having a composition lesson with their students.… ...

CHING is going to take her life. Thankfully, SZE and LEUNG arrives in time to stop her, during which they are so surprised to learn that CHING is in love with her teacher CHOW CHUNG-CHAI, who is already married. CHAI shifts all responsibility onto CHING, which irks CHOI so much that he has decided to fire him. Thinking that the staff reduction program has come to an end, LEUNG feels much relieved. CHOI, however, reminds him that he will have to continue to do his job properly. To make as much money as possible, CHOI decides to offer a school place to a disruptive student AU YEUNG SHAN, which worries FUNG enormously. With the encouragement of his colleagues, P.E. Teacher NG YUK-TAK begins to woo SZE but he ends up making an utter fool of himself. FUNG wants to expel SHAN from the school after he has had a fight with his schoolmates, but SZE, who is later found out to be SHAN’s stepmother, tries her best to intercede for him.… ...

The guesthouse where BIU is staying is on fire. CHOI is so worried about BIU that he decides to let him move back into his home. BIU is good at repairing electric appliances, which makes him incredibly popular among his neighbors. Believing that SHAN is a good-natured lad, CHOI is sure that he has made the right decision to accept the student. SHAN thinks SZE has spoken ill of him in front of TAK. To take revenge, he steals his own test paper from the teacher’s desk and claims that it is SZE who has misplaced it. LEUNG knows SHAN is lying but SZE, for some undisclosed reason, pleads with him not to tell CHOI anything about it. CHOI discovers that a caretaker has been stealing the school’s resources. FUNG intercedes for the caretaker and begs CHOI not to call the police. CHOI agrees to her request and dismisses the caretaker eventually. LEUNG meets a kind-hearted young girl LAM WING-YAN and falls for her at once.… ...

YAN’s class is interrupted by a disruptive student. Meanwhile, LEUNG passes by and manages to save her from embarrassment. YAN is therefore very grateful to him. To cut expenditure, CHOI plans to close the school library, which is strongly opposed by SZE and YAN. CHOI then requests LEUNG to submit a proposal to improve library services. While LEUNG and YAN are looking for reference books in the library, SZE comes in to disturb the peace. This has irked LEUNG a little bit. LEUNG asks YAN out to watch a film but YAN is so busy and finally turns him down. Thinking that BIU has revealed her nickname “Sexy Chick” to the students, FUNG has become furious. LEUNG makes up an excuse to ask YAN out again. This time around, YAN accepts his invitation, which gives LEUNG a great thrill. While reporting to KWOK-WING on the administration of the school, CHOI realizes his position has been shaken and he is very upset by this.… ...

CHI reveals the mother-son relationship between SZE and SHAN, which shocks all teachers to the core. SZE visits BIU who is still recuperating in the hospital. There she meets CHOI. She explains to CHOI that SHAN is disgusted at his father’s second marriage and has since become more and more rebellious. SZE asks BIU for forgiveness but CHOI insists on expelling SHAN. SZE decides to resign, which makes CHOI change his mind at once. LEUNG and YAN have both seen the TV commercial for the Inter-school Chinese Studies Competition. They suggest their students should take part in it but most teachers strongly object to their proposal. Thinking that it may help to promote the school, CHOI takes LEUNG’s and YAN’s suggestion and appoints them to take charge of the whole project. SHAN comes to apologize to BIU, where CHOI tells the lad that SZE has thought of resigning for his sake.… ...

SZE decides to look after SHAN while CHI is staying in hospital, for which she has drawn up a number of rules with the lad. TAK tries to find out more about SZE from SHAN, which irks the lad a bit. SZE has bought SHAN a new computer. She asks him to wait at home for the delivery but SHAN doesn’t take it too seriously. SZE hurries home after getting a call. When she sees SHAN lying on the sofa listening to music, she comes to understand why he fails to acknowledge receipt of the computer equipment. She is filled with anger and picks a quarrel with SHAN. To enhance the school’s reputation, CHOI decides that the school should take part in the Inter-school Fixture. He goes to watch the Hong Kong Youth Athletics Championship, through which he hopes to find some elite student athletes. He, however, ends up being humiliated and teased mercilessly. CHOI is robbed while wandering in the street.… ...

LEUNG shows BIU a photo of YAN and himself and offers to buy YAN a lot of snacks and drinks while YAN has also got LEUNG a sandwich for breakfast. LEUNG and YAN move away from each other awkwardly as other teachers step inside the staff room. They go out for lunch and happen to meet their colleagues. Their relationship is then revealed. SZE is surprised to hear that the scholarship will be awarded to WAH and not to the impoverished MAK KING-KEI. Immediately she goes to see CHOI and asks for his explanation. KEUNG asks YIN for money so that he can buy a gift for his mistress HUNG LI. BIU who suffers from low back pain visits a massage parlor, where he spots KEUNG and LI. Without delay, he reveals to LEUNG what he has seen. LEUNG questions KEUNG about his affair but KEUNG denies it. KEUNG brings LI home, saying that she is the wife of his workmate.… ...

CHOI, with a basket of fruit in his hand, makes a formal apology to CHOI-WAN but is rejected. CHOI and SZE go to see WAH trying to get him to say sorry to CHOI-WAN. To their surprise, WAH is peddling in the street and is later arrested by police. WAH is rebuked by his father. CHOI tries to encourage WAH with his own story but WAH is not at all grateful. WAH gets injured when he tries to save TUNG. The lads have then made up and become friends. TUNG persuades CHOI-WAN to let WAH and CHOI off but CHOI-WAN warns him not to be too tender-hearted. TUNG flies into a rage and locks himself in the laboratory, finally managing to change CHOI-WAN’s mind. LEUNG advises BIU to lure LI with money and LI ends up being trapped as expected. Thinking that BIU has stolen his secret lover, KEUNG is overwhelmed with jealousy and publicly reveals his affair with LI. This has infuriated YIN immensely.… ...

CHOI asks about the competition results as soon as he wakes up. He is chuffed to bits when he hears that both WAH and the cheering group are awarded medals. Having become more confident, CHOI wants his students to take part in basketball competitions as well. He sifts through all teachers’ CVs trying to look for a coach. Knowing that LEUNG used to play basketball, CHOI decides to appoint him the coach of the school basketball team. LEUNG has no choice but to accept the offer. LEUNG doesn’t seem very interested in the training at first but when YAN comes to see them practice, he suddenly becomes serious. CHOI organizes a basketball match between the students and the teachers, causing a lot of grumbling among the male teachers. SHAN’s basketball has hit YUET accidentally. To vent her anger, YUET means to get his basketball T-shirt dirty. As the T-shirt is left by his late father, SHAN is so furious with YUET.… ...

LEUNG proposes to YAN but is rejected. He is therefore very upset. Knowing that LEUNG is in a bad mood, the students mean to get him and YAN to go bowling, which offers the pair a chance to make up with each other. YAN has fallen behind schedules with her teaching and is blamed for this by FUNG. She insists that students should be taught according to their ability so that they can progress at their own pace. Her view is supported by LEUNG and SZE. YAN has been looking forward to studying in England, through which she hopes she can achieve her dream of becoming a professional teacher. LEUNG does not want to be apart from YAN and is going to resign and leave with her. YIN has not only fallen sick but also suffered financial loss in her food business, which worries LEUNG terribly. Since he is not really interested in furthering his knowledge, he finally decides to stay in Hong Kong.… ...

YIN’s food business has been going down, so LEUNG turns to CHOI for advice. LEUNG suggests YIN should close her business as her workers and machines are too old to cope with any large-scale production. His suggestion is however not accepted by YIN. CHOI is suddenly informed that the school council will come for a school visit two days later. In order not to lose face, CHOI gets the whole school involved in preparing a school show and exhibition within a very short period, which is sheer torture to everyone. The day before the school council members come, some decorations and displays have been deliberately damaged, thus driving everyone into a state of panic and anger. While they are busy fixing the decorations, CHOI gets a call from the school supervisor saying that the school council will not be able to come. This has come as a great relief to the whole school. CHOI has called for an investigation into the incident.… ...

While CHOI is trying to express his love for her, SZE receives a phone call informing her that SHAN is again arrested for possessing drugs. SHAN insists that he is innocent but SZE does not trust him. Feeling deeply frustrated, SHAN stomps off in a huff. SZE is in a bit of a bad mood. CHOI wants to give her a hand and asks LEUNG to help persuade SHAN to return home. SHAN gives LEUNG a call but LEUNG is not articulate enough to convince him. This has irked CHOI profoundly. The school is burgled and the booty is left on SZE’s desk. SZE believes that it is all planned by the students who are against her. She is totally disappointed and decides to resign. CHOI asks her to stay but is rejected. PAU gets back to the school to turn himself in. He explains that he broke into the school to steal money but got so remorseful as soon as he spotted the bookmark he gave SZE.… ...

CHOI tries every possible way to please SZE, which makes him an object of ridicule for SHAN. Having been mocked continually, CHOI starts to feel discouraged. CHOI offers to help HO who is lured into debt by DIANA. HO is therefore very grateful for his assistance. HO seeks help from other teachers but is rejected. CHOI is the only one who gives support. This has reinforced SHAN’s impression of CHOI as a lady-killer while SZE very much appreciates his generosity. Knowing that student KONG LAP-YING is very into dancing, LEUNG brings her to the TV station to watch a dance rehearsal, hoping that this will inspire her to pursue her dream. BIU has got YING a number of books on dancing. YING is deeply touched and promises to do her best. She is unaware that this is actually all planned by SZE. YIN is almost knocked down in the street but is saved by KEUNG in time.… ...

CHOI asks YIN to provide the school with lunch boxes and YIN accepts the offer. YUET and SHAN argue about how to distribute the lunch boxes, almost causing a fight between the boys and the girls. CHOI hurries to the scene to settle the dispute. YIN guesses that someone falls for her but LEUNG doubts it. YIN has lost some valuables and LEUNG suspects they are stolen by KEUNG. LEUNG follows KEUNG and finally proves that he is the thief. The two of them have since fallen out. SZE and many students suffer from food poisoning after having enjoyed the lunch provided by YIN, which worries CHOI much. YIN discovers that KEUNG has not only cheated the supplier out of money but has also produced lunch boxes with illegal meat, which is the main cause of the food poisoning. CHOI goes to see SZE at the hospital but is stopped by SHAN. Feeling guilty for getting SZE into trouble, LEUNG offers to take up her job while she is on leave.… ...

CHOI knows something strange is going on when he sees LEUNG pick up an earring for SZE. He tries to find out from BIU whether LEUNG is still in contact with YAN, hoping that it will give him more hints about the development of the relationship between LEUNG and SZE. LEUNG, SZE and SHAN go to buy a new pair of training shoes, during which they happen to meet CHOI. In order to minimize contact between LEUNG and SZE, CHOI offers to take up their job and arrange the Speech Festival. YUET is so desperate to win in the Speech Festival that she keeps on trying nutritious drinks so as to protect her voice. YUET gets a terrible stomach-ache and has to withdraw from the Speech Festival, which disappoints CHOI greatly. SZE and LEUNG point out that CHOI is so concerned about winning the Speech Festival that he has put his students under incredible stress.… ...

Knowing that LEUNG and SZE will go camping with their students, CHOI decides to join them. He again challenges LEUNG to a fair competition to see who can win SZE’s heart, which is overheard by SZE who passes by. CHOI seeks every chance to approach SZE but SZE seems to be trying to keep away from him. LEUNG and YUET are assigned to prepare lunch while CHOI and SZE are to make breakfast. LEUNG teaches YUET how to chop an onion up, which makes YUET admire him more and more. CHOI and LEUNG have a badminton match and CHOI, although has finally defeated LEUNG, is totally exhausted. The next morning while preparing the breakfast, SZE comes to learn that CHOI has disappeared. She runs into LEUNG while on her way to buy breakfast. She tries to avoid him but LEUNG has already spotted her. LEUNG introduces SZE to Steamed Rice Pudding, after which they have a nice chat about their favorite food.… ...

SZE is so confused. When she is back to school, she meets FUNG who advises her not to rush to make a decision until she has spent some time with CHOI and LEUNG. SHAN’s supervision order has finally completed. After visiting the tomb of his late father, SHAN encourages SZE to open her heart to a new relationship. LEUNG and CHOI ask SZE out for a date and SZE, who claims to want to expand her social circle, accepts their respective invitations. LEUNG sees YUET and her classmates in the street. He scolds the man who sells second-hand books, thus saving YUET from embarrassment. YUET is so grateful and has completely lost her heart to LEUNG. SHAN’s biological mother SHIU CHING-YUNG has come back suddenly. She hopes to bring her son to Australia but SHAN seems so indifferent to her. YUNG goes to see SZE at the school. She regrets leaving her husband and son, and turns to SZE for help in persuading SHAN to make up with her.… ...

Knowing that SZE’s birthday is coming soon, LEUNG has got a plan in his head. YUET tries to find out how well she will get on with LEUNG by divining with their dates of birth. To make sure their relationship will work, she has even stolen LEUNG’s hair as a lucky charm for love. CHOI and LEUNG have their respective plans to celebrate SZE’s birthday. As they are about to ask SZE out, SHAN calls her up. She accepts SHAN’s invitation, thus disappointing the guys a lot. SHAN and his classmates have organized a birthday party for SZE, which has deeply touched her. CHOI and LEUNG present their gifts to SZE outside her flat and her building respectively. Having felt so much stress from their complicated relationship, SZE turns down both presents.… ...

SHAN sees YUNG off at the airport. He asks LEUNG to go with him and arranges a dinner between SZE and LEUNG. SZE feels guilty for having dirtied LEUNG’s shirt. Two teachers from CHOI’s school have been caught in a love triangle. CHOI seems to have been inspired while trying to sort out their problem. SZE goes shopping with her female colleagues, during which she has bought a shirt for LEUNG. FUNG points out that SZE has already made a decision. CHOI appears when SZE is passing the shirt to LEUNG. CHOI knows he has no hope of winning SZE back and offers to withdraw from the relationship. LEUNG and SZE have overcome the biggest obstacle and finally become lovers. WING’s assistant WINSON wants to have an audit of the school’s accounts. He claims that he will be promoted to the same rank as CHOI, which alerts CHOI to the fact that his position is under threat. CHOI hopes to improve the school’s reputation by holding a grand open day.… ...

CHOI is going to join LEE SIU-CHIU’s corporation as a senior member of staff. SZE and LEUNG support his decision although they are sad to see him go. Impoverished student MAK KING-KEI has won the National Essay Competition and is awarded a scholarship for further education. CHOI is very pleased for KEI while FUNG speaks highly of CHOI for his contribution to the students and the school. Knowing that CHOI has been suffering from spinal pain, the students decide to design a personal massage device for him. YUET, who has been in love with LEUNG, means to make herself look more mature hoping to bridge the gap between herself and LEUNG. Her classmate FUNG YAN-TUNG points out that she should not have fallen for LEUNG. BIU tells FUNG that her stern face would only scare her students off. He suggests she should try to build up a closer relationship with her students.… ...

YUET cannot make a go of her relationship with LEUNG and has got so depressed. Her academic performance has also been affected. SZE and LEUNG host a home party for their students, during which YUET has been so rude to SZE. SZE understands that YUET is angry with her for LEUNG’s sake. All members of the school are going to bid farewell to CHOI. Everybody is sad to see him go. In an interview with the press at the school, the students who have won the Top Design Award speak very highly of CHOI. CHOI knows he is going to miss the school and the students. BIU asks him to stay but he refuses for he has already accepted the new offer. FUNG goes to see WING, hoping that he will convince CHOI to stay. WING appreciates CHOI’s enthusiasm for education and agrees to FUNG’s request. CHOI finally declines CHIU’s offer and carries on with his role as the Principal.… ...

CHOI enjoys the massage device designed by the students. He looks so proud of his students and himself and gets teased about this. Caretaker NGO is not feeling well. CHOI is pleased to grant her sick leave and even asks YIN to substitute for her. This, however, makes NGO believe that CHOI is going to dismiss her. A fake photo of LEUNG and YUET and some fake news stories of their relationship have been uploaded to the school’s website, which drives WING into a rage. WING needs CHOI to carry out a thorough investigation. Everybody at the school is talking about LEUNG and YUET. YUET suspects it is done by TUNG but TUNG denies it. TUNG works with the teachers trying to find out who is causing the trouble. With the efforts of both the teachers and the students, it is found that this is all a trick by a student called TING. TING has been in love with TUNG and disapproves of YUET for teasing TUNG all over again.… ...

LEUNG remembers that he was chosen as the bone marrow donor for KWONG but that he did not show up for the bone marrow transplant as he had an urgent matter to deal with. He suspects that KWONG was the patient waiting for his bone marrow and he feels a deep sense of regret and guilt towards KWONG. LEUNG tells YIN that his parents died many years ago and their last wish was to visit the Three Gorges of Yangtze River, also known as Chang Jiang San Xia. To fulfill their last wish, LEUNG went on a tour to Chang Jiang San Xia, from where he also got a stone as a souvenir. LEUNG is in a bad mood and loses his temper for no reason at all, which surprises SHAN greatly. BIU is astonished to realize that FUNG is fond of him. He is at a loss and turns to CHOI for help. CHOI encourages him to woo FUNG but he explains that he has no feeling for her. TING is isolated by her classmates.… ...

SZE and LEUNG have been downcast about their separation. In order not to affect SHAN in any way, they have decided to keep it secret. SHAN notices that SZE and LEUNG have not been on speaking terms. Believing that SZE still cannot get over KWONG, he suggests she should forget the past and look ahead to the future. SZE can only give him a wry smile. LEUNG knows SZE has been in a bad mood. He doesn’t want to affect her work and plans to resign. SZE gives him a dressing-down and reminds him to work for the good of the students. FUNG has applied for sick leave. BIU is a bit worried about her but does not dare to pay her a visit. SHAN and his classmates promise to visit FUNG on behalf of BIU but BIU has to offer them a great deal of money in return. FUNG offers her resignation but she makes it clear to CHOI that BIU has nothing to do with her departure.… ...

SHAN is diagnosed with Leukemia. CHOI tries to console SZE who is devastated by the news. SHAN remains quite calm although he knows he is suffering from a fatal disease. He is so optimistic that he even tells SZE not to worry about him. CHOI calls on all students and teachers to go for a bone marrow test, in the hope of identifying a suitable bone marrow donor for SHAN. Feeling so guilty towards KWONG, LEUNG is resolved to locate a bone marrow donor for SHAN. FUNG donates the profits from her book to SHAN to cover his medical expenses while his classmates offer to visit him at the hospital. WAH has won recognition from the Coach of the Hong Kong Athletics Team. To ensure entry to the Hong Kong Team, WAH states that he will not undergo the bone marrow transplant even if he is found to be a suitable donor. Everybody reckons that he is so selfish.… ...

SHAN’s operation is a success, which thrills everybody utterly. SHAN is very grateful to CHOI and considers him one of his greatest friends. This makes LEUNG a little upset and jealous. WAH is allowed to join the Hong Kong Team but nobody offers him congratulations. WAH works part-time as a hawker hoping to minimize his family’s financial burden. His classmate PAU YUK-MING walks past his stall and plays a trick on him. MING has accidentally injured WAH’s legs while teasing him. SZE is grateful to CHOI for having saved SHAN and has obviously changed her attitude towards him. CHOI is chuffed to bits while LEUNG is so upset. SZE brings SHAN to the doctor for a follow-up consultation but the rain comes down suddenly along the way. LEUNG is worried about them and hurries to the hospital to pick them up. LEUNG is shocked to see CHOI who has arrived earlier than he has. Feeling disappointed and embarrassed, LEUNG slips away in seconds.… ...

The students have begun a campaign to save the school and are trying to collect signatures from their schoolmates. CHOI presents to WING the signatures from the students and the annual report by the teachers. He pleads with WING to change his mind but WING, who is so attracted by the high profits, turns him down. FUNG remembers how enthusiastic WING was on the day the school was founded. She hopes to retrieve the video clips of the day. SZE and LEUNG look for the video tapes in the storeroom, during which SZE has accidentally slipped on the floor. LEUNG holds her up and both of them can feel the passion for each other. Despite CHOI’s efforts to please SZE, he cannot win SZE’s heart. LEUNG, on the other hand, is the one SZE has been thinking of. LEUNG wants to make up with SZE but lacks the courage to ask for her forgiveness. SZE runs into LEUNG in the place where they used to hang out.… ...

YUET is blamed for agreeing to WING’s request. WAH and SHAN give a few words of encouragement to their classmates. CHOI tries to convince the students of their power with the success of the vigil. All teachers have put their students on their top priority. They post the model answers on notice boards and toilet walls in order to facilitate students’ revision. All teachers concerned have arranged special tutorials for their students. Everybody is working so hard to prepare for the examination. CHOI and SZE go to have a celebration dinner after the HKCEE is over, during which they run into WINSON. SZE gives WINSON a good telling-off for slagging CHOI. A bride and groom are on their way to the wedding but their car breaks down suddenly. CHOI and SZE give them a hand and send them to the wedding venue. SZE gets the bride’s flowers after the wedding. CHOI grabs the chance and proposes to SZE but SZE shows hesitation.… ...

CHOI reveals that five students got an A respectively, adding up to five distinctions in total. WINSON claims that the school is bound to close and immediately gets told off by the teachers. WING attends a meeting at the school, during which he insists on closing the school. BIU presents to WING his examination results – to everyone’s surprise, he took part in the HKCEE as a private candidate and got five distinctions in one go. WING has finally changed his mind. The whole school has a celebration party. CHOI and LEUNG are so concerned about SZE who has a terrible stomach-ache. CHOI announces that he has offered resignation and is going to further studies. Knowing that WAH and YUET get on well with each other, TUNG who has fancied YUET for years has become so jealous. He blames WAH for stealing his dream girl and the lads have soon got into a quarrel. CHOI and LEUNG try to stop them but end up getting into an argument over SZE.… ...
