1x1 - Episode 1

January 21, 2008

Leung Choi County is raged by an Air Marauder recently. County Officer CHUN commands the inspectors to catch the convict; however, the inspectors hand over the case to CHAN SAI-MUI. MUI chances upon TSE WONG-SHEUNG who has just stolen his family’s “Treasure Bowl” for his friends’ appreciation. MUI has caught SHEUNG back but it has discontented the rice trader TSE CHONG-TIN who is SHEUNG’s father. TIN decided to boycott the County’s rice planter…. SHEUNG determines to be a Government Official but has been objecting by his father. TIN eventually donates to the Government and SHEUNG is then appointed as the Agriculture Official. He also hires TAI TSUNG-MAN, who has sworn not to speak anymore, as an advisor as well as several wicked inspectors for SHEUNG. During the fiesta in honor of the Dragon Deity, the sacrificial rice is suspected stolen.… ...

Having seen the peasants in Changsha City being oppressed by the local officers, MUI then confronted with them. Eventually she has been caught by the officers of LUI FEI-LUNG. SHEUNG agrees with the plan that proposed by MAN. He claims that he will pay 800,000 tael of silver for everyone’s freedom. In fact, he wants to buy more time to invite his teacher, who is a high official, to Changsha. MUI admires MAN and wants to please him. It makes MAN remembering the old times. MAN used to be an inspector. Because of his smart and cleverness, peers called him “Grand Old Master”. However, SO CHUN-TUNG, who is the superior of MAN, envied about MAN and insulted him by all means. MAN suggested SHEUNG to get into the prison and collect the criminal evidence of LUI. However, MUI breaks into the jail and rescue SHEUNG without further investigation. SHEUNG and every one blame MUI and MUI leaves gloomily.… ...

When MUI is hanging around, she meets TO PAK-KU that inspires her to suppress the strong and aid the weak. They are informed that SHEUNG’s teacher has died by an acute disease and wants to leave Changsha but LUI’s team holds them back. SHEUNG tells LUI that his family has the “Treasure Bowl”, which was presented by the Emperor. SHEUNG sends MUI and MAN back to Leung Choi County for the Bowl. MAN remembers the old times with his wife YUK-HAN. However, TIN brings the Bowl to Yi Zhou and is held up because of the flood disaster there. MAN proposes Treasurer Uncle Tim to pretend TIN. YUK-LAN, SHEUNG’s mother brings a fake “Treasure Bowl” but it is accidentally broken on their way to Changsha. While LUNG deals with SHEUNG’s team, SAI-MUI suddenly appears and invites LUNG & his son to meet in the restaurant. They decided to use an ordinary bowl to replace the fake bowl and deliberately make LUNG to break it.… ...

MAN request for SHEUNG’s approval of his vacation to his hometown. He hasn’t been back to his hometown for 5 years. Several years ago, he had a quarrel with his wife HAN who then drown herself into the river for suicide. In order to find YUK-HAN and to pray for the safety of his family, MAN swore not to speak anymore. MUI wants SHEUNG to hire her as farm security guard and keeps on disturbing him. They both fell into the water accidentally. When MUI comes to herself, she finds that her clothes have been changed. SHEUNG cheats her it is done by him and MUI says she is going to kill him. On the other hand, there is an assassinator who wants to kill SHEUNG. Luckily SHEUNG lands on his feet. The assassinator sneaks into TSE’s family and wants to poison them. TIN is then poisoned. The assassinator uses many concealed weapons but are all retained by YUK-LAN. In fact YUK-LAN was the well-known Double-Sword chivalrous lady.… ...

The assassinator is the professional armed escort LEUNG FEI-NGAN. She says that she did it because she wants to revenge her dead sister SIU-DIP – a famous prostitute in Hangzhou. After SHEUNG has gone through the case, he arrests TIN YAU-LEUNG. LEUNG confesses that he is the fake “SHEUNG” but denies killing her. SHEUNG goes to Hangzhou with the team and finds out there are many doubtful points. In the night, SHEUNG opens the coffin and wants to do autopsy secretly, but is stopped by the local official. SHEUNG hopes the new official TUNG can help reversing the previous judgment. In order to please TUNG, TIN and the team organize a big welcome party for TUNG. MUI wants to be the farm security guard but SHEUNG ask her to write an essay to explain her desire. Eventually MUI made it. TUNG goes to Hangzhou to carry out the autopsy and discover that DIP was poisoned to death.… ...

As expected by SHEUNG, the secret person wants to bury DIP’s corpse. MUI fights with the secret person. The team decides to bring the corpse back to Leung Choi County. TIN YAU-LEUNG’s family tells SHEUNG that the true murderer should be FU’s younger brother TIN TAI-KWAI. MUI and the team pretend to be the dried fish trader in order to cover the stinky smell from the corpse. TIN lets SHEUNG to meet with TUNG, but during their quarrel, MAN is smacked. When SHEUNG comforts MAN, MAN’s wife suddenly appears. TSE’s family finds MAN a bit lost when returning to his room. SHEUNG explains that HAN had a furtive relationship with another man and got pregnant several years ago so she drowned herself into the river for suicide. When she knew that MAN made a vow, she urged to tell him the truth. While every one is worrying about MAN, MAN decides to persuade the county’s citizens to stop TUNG from putting LEUNG to the guillotine.… ...

SHEUNG leads the team to protest and TUNG decides to oppress by military force. TO, the Prime Minster of the Interior suddenly appears. TO decides to have SHEUNG and TUNG be the co-judges of this case. MUI brings the corpse back to the court. MAN and SHEUNG find another wound during autopsy of the body. While MAN wants to prove that KWAI is the murder, the guards arrest WONG SAU-MUI, the owner of the prostitute house in Hangzhou. Evidence proofs that she is the murderer. The case is now “One corpse with two murderers”. There are many mistakes during judging on the day after. TUNG blames SHEUNG in public. Eventually they pawn their Black Gauze Hat as a bet. SHEUNG invites YIU to the court and resemble the case dramatically. He tackles all the suspicious points one by one. TUNG loses as well as his Hat. SHEUNG passes this to MAN and convinces him to bring it back to TUNG during the dinner party.

MAN hasn’t sent back the Black Gauze Hat, moreover he blames TUNG is a brutal official and tread on the Black Gauze Hat. TUNG vows revenge for it. TO says TUNG will be relocated soon and decides to promote SHEUNG. In order to thank the team, SHEUNG brings them to Jade House. They meet with the singers TONG SHUI and HEUNG SHUI. TING loves TONG SHUI in the first sight. SHEUNG discovers that the Treasury is empty. Also, he finds out that TIN has not paid tax for 20 years. SHEUNG plays some tricks and get back the tax from TIN eventually. SHEUNG donates half of his annual salary and hosts a fiesta during the Lunar New Year Festival and invites all of the citizens. MUI accompanies SHEUNG to join the party and finds out that she loves SHEUNG. TIN chances upon HEUNG SHUI on the way back home at night. He also helps her to kick away the curs. TIN looks a bit unusual when he comes home.… ...

While TING investigates the case of burned corpse, he takes the opportunity to present a kind-hearted him to TONG. HEUNG’s mother CHAN HAU reports lost of her daughter. From the relics, they come up with a conclusion that the corpse is HEUNG. MAN determines that HEUNG is being murdered. The team assists TING to get close to TONG. However TONG’s grandmother TONG YI thinks she has good rapport with TING, the team poisons YI and YI fells into unconsciousness. The situation is awkward. SHEUNG finds out that HEUNG’s lover TSUI YIU-SHING is suspicious. Meanwhile, HAU tells them she meets HEUNG’s ghost at night. TONG invites TING for a meal of noodles and tells him that she has seen HEUNG at the night that HEUNG was killed. Also, she heard that TIN proposed to stay with HEUNG for one night. TING tells the co-workers about what TONG said. Every one are shocked. Suddenly SHEUNG knows that and interrogates his father.… ...

PAK KOO brings her team to the court and requests SHEUNG to investigate the case with detachment. TING initiates to investigate TONG but he enters into her grandmother’s room mistakenly. He eventually can slip out by pretending himself to be a masked rapist. SAI-MUI keeps sight of SHING and finds him preparing herbal tea but he is not sick. Thus, she brings the herb’s residue back to MAN for investigation. SHEUNG asked TIN to testify for himself but LAN holds them back and fights with MUI. The team would like to hypnotize them but is finally being hypnotized back. Fortunately MUI convinces them. In the court, TIN doesn’t tell the truth. SHEUNG put him in jail for further investigation. MAN is inspired by the butcher while analyzing the case with SHEUNG. They re-examine the burned corpse and come up with another conclusion that the corpse is not HEUNG.… ...

SHING leads the team to find HEUNG. They find out the one being murdered is CHUI, the cousin of HEUNG. The reason of this incident is that HEUNG owed CHUI 3000 tael of silver. SHEUNG sympathizes them but they are finally sentenced to death and will be executed after autumn. TING uses investigation as an excuse to get closer to TONG but is discovered by TONG’s father TONG TAI-HOI. TING is scolded by HOI. HOI suddenly intrudes into TSE’s house and claimed that as the matter of fact, TIN has stolen a bowl of rice from HOI’s family and shared half to the Emperor (who is a young monk) many years ago. HOI’s family got poorer and poorer afterwards. From that time, HOI kept disturbing TIN and TIN was forced to move to Leung Choi County. TONG is also instigated by HOI to set TIN up. HOI finds out that TIN is really rich. Because of his greed to TIN’s wealth, HOI requests TIN to indemnify him for 140,000 tael of silver.… ...

When SHEUNG carries MUI, he hears a guy’s name in MUI’s somniloquy. The team decides to find out who is the person admired by MUI. TUNG was promoted 3 grades within 3 months. He is now the Provincial Governor. The first place he wants to inspect is Leung Choi County. All the people know that TUNG comes with hostility and they all get themselves well-prepared. In order to revenge the insult, TUNG brings his brother CHUN-NAM with him. All the citizens claim that SHEUNG is a good official in his birthday party. SHEUNG draws a painting in order to thank all. NAM says there is some derogatory sense behind the painting offending the Emperor. Luckily MAN helps to solve this issue finally. The 2nd victim is CHOP SUI. By the assistance of the citizens in the county, SUI is proved guiltless. But at that time SUI has already been beaten. TING uses the excuse of business to date TONG but they suddenly meet HOI.… ...

With no other possible solutions, SHEUNG resorts to marry MUI in order to save her life by the “Treasure Bowl” given by the Emperor. Every one proceeds at top speed. SHEUNG and MUI successfully get married at the prison. MUI is saved, nevertheless, NAM asks his brother to complain against SHEUNG. NAM bribes all the high officials to attack TSE’s family. MO is appointed by the Emperor to investigate the case. TUNG presents a couple of famous paintings as well as 200,000 tael of silver as a gift to MO. MO agrees to help. On the other hand, MUI swears that she will be a vegetarian and wishes TSE’s family can overcome. SHEUNG is deeply grateful. In order to save the team, MAN visits MO again. But he disappears. MO takes the responsibility to judge TSE’s family. However, MO acquitted them of all charges eventually.

SHEUNG doubts that the “MO” in front of him is pretended by MAN. He asks “MO” many questions at night but “MO” affirms that he is not MAN. “MO” says he suffers from hemoptysis during the meeting with TUNG’s brothers and he wants to be a good official before his death. Another homicide case has been reported at that time. CHAN MEI-OR accuses that WONG has killed her sister. The neighbors also point out that WONG has physically abused her daughter-in-law (i.e. OR’s sister). When “MO” hears about this case, he proposes to co-investigate with SHEUNG. During investigation, SHEUNG finds that “MO” has well versed techniques and doubts his real identity again. By their painstaking investigation, they find out the murderer is…… SHEUNG keeps investigating “MO’s” real identity and worries that MAN has killed MO and replaced him in order to save TSE’s family. “MO” is angry and has a big quarrel with SHEUNG.… ...

In order to know the truth, SHEUNG swears to give his life to “MO” if he has wrongly recognized him. However, “MO” proofs his real identity with evidence. While TING is confessing his love to TONG, they find out HOI has owed 500 tael of silver for gambling debt. TING agrees to be liable for his debt and uses his sword as collateral. On the other hand, SHEUNG discovers something so he accompanies with MUI to further investigate in MAN’s hometown. He finds him in love with MUI during the journey. Having arrived, they find another “MAN”. Actually he is the real MO. When SHEUNG is back home, MAN tells him that he will attack corruptions. They say farewell to each other. TONG invites TING to dine in her home. HOI asks TING to pay 50,000 tael of silver as a cash gift if he wants to marry TONG. TING is shocked to speechless. NAM accompanies with TUNG to go to MAN’s hometown. They dig MO’s coffin and want to trap SHEUNG’s team.

After TUNG has departed, TIN and LAN propose to find another wife for SHEUNG. SHEUNG confesses that he is in love with MUI. On the other hand, NAM brings MO’s body to Leung Choi County and accuses SHEUNG and MAN for replacing MO by tricks. NAM writes a letter to MAN urging him back to Leung Choi County at once. According to SHEUNG, MO’s body is the key for this case. Thus, MUI wants to steal the body but is fallen into the enemy’s ambush. NAM interrogates MUI and lets her go after alienating MUI and SHEUNG. NAM uses TONG to threaten TING and takes the letter to MAN written by SHEUNG. TUNG detains TSE’s family and holds the “Treasure Bowl” in custody. While TUNG wants to torture SHEUNG to confess, MAN is back stopping them. Nevertheless, NAM has already invited the Prime Minister to Leung Choi County……

As many of the corrupting relatives were executed by MAN, the Prime Minister would like to take this chance to attack the fake “MO”; MAN pretends losing his rational thought slashing at the Prime Minister with his sword which frightens him to leave. Afterwards, the eunuch CHAN, who is cosseted by the mother of the Emperor, comes to Leung Choi County and takes charge of this case. When MAN discusses with SHEUNG in the resting zone, he shows SHEUNG a pack of poison and tells him about his suicide plan as the last resort. SHEUNG threatens SIU CHUN-TSZ, who is CHAN’s subordinate, to reveal the reason that driving CHAN to Leung Choi County and successfully browbeating CHAN. CHAN commands to execute TUNG’s brothers. However, NAM can survive by grasping CHAN’s secret. SHEUNG finds out MUI has gone while having the meal prepared by her. TSE’s family rush to MUI’s hometown.… ...

After back to the capital city, NAM instigates all the officials to strike and take leaves in order to force the Emperor to attack MAN. Someone assassinates MAN and SHEUNG. MUI saves them but is injured and lost conscious. After knowing HOI would like to let TONG to marry a person in Chiang-su as his 4th wife, TING immediately gets there and makes trouble. He boasts that he can pay HOI with 8,000 tael of silver within 3 days and beats HOI until he fells into coma. HOI is then imprisoned in a house on an isolated island. After HOI’s disappearance, YI and TONG are worried about him. They finally report lost in the Magistrate’s Office. Having questioned by SHEUNG, TING confesses that he has imprisoned HOI illegally. TING then brings every body to the small house in order to release HOI, however, they find that HOI was dead because of shortage of water and food. In fact, TING has prepared water and food in the house for HOI.… ...

The real murderers are in fact HOI’s cousin MAK TSAU-SUN and his sons. HOI bit the hands that fed them many years ago and it is the reason why MAK took revenge on him. MUI is come back to conscious but she cannot remember she used to stay in TSE’s family. NAM brings a stranger to Leung Choi County and that stranger is in fact the Emperor CHU YUAN-CHANG. The Emperor tells them he has commanded MAN to gather in Leung Choi County. When the Emperor asks MAN a question, MAN confesses that he has been pretending MO. SHEUNG refutes for MAN. While NAM is feeling complacement over the issue, Emperor Chu tells him that he has already knew the devilments done by NAM and gives order to execute him. While MAN is memorizing the past in the prison, MUI reminds him that it’s time to execute him. In the place of execution, SHEUNG gives order…… MAN finds out he is in the suburb area at that time.… ...
