RUNZHI challenges him with three difficult questions of XIAOMEI, including word games, XIAOMEI's nickname and the location of XIAOMEI's hairpin. When everybody is looking for the hairpin, DAMEI discovers that JICHANG is drunk. JICHANG reveals that he feels regretful for leaving DAMEI before and DAMEI is deeply touched. He gets to know the scholar HAN YUAN and the others and they drink together. RUNZHI and DONGPO go the White Dragon hot spring respectively and they see each other naked by accident. RUNZHI hints to DONGPO that she wants to marry him but DONGPO still misses his deceased wife and he doesn't want to start a new relationship with other women. DONGPO asks the emperor to taste RUNZHI's new dish "Messy". The emperor's cousin Princess SHOUAN invites LIU YUE'E and her husband CHEN JICHANG to taste it together. The emperor appreciates the dish very much. He grants DONGPO and RUNZHI a pair of firecrackers. SHAOYOU therefore asks XIAOMEI to pass the question to DONGPO. DONGPO ponders over Madam YUE's matter and he finally finds a way to solve SHAOYOU's riddle. DONGPO discovers the workshop for making fake banknotes and he is captured. Madam HAN worries that he will tell the others and she wants DONGPO to collaborate with her. She also decides to release DONGPO after the wedding of HAN YUAN and RUNZHI. On the wedding day, RUNZHI fails to see DONGPO and she refuses to get married. Madam HAN finally brings DONGPO and XIAOMEI to the main hall. RUNZHI abducts HAN YUAN with her hairpin. When they arrive at the fork, SHAOYOU helps to abduct HAN YUAN and draws away the chasers.… ...

RUNZHI and Sis JIAO present DONGPO's favorite lamb pot at the same time. Everybody praises Sis JIAO for her outstanding cooking skills. The emperor reveals to DONGPO that the imperial chef is not as good as his home chefs. He wants DONGPO to send his chef to the palace so that she could train the imperial chef. DONGPO asks RUNZHI and Sis JIAO to have a contest. The loser needs to work as a chef in the palace for one month. On the contest day, RUNZHI discovers that the pork is rather sweet and she realizes that someone has replaced the salt with sugar. DONGPO finally announces that Sis JIAO has lost the contest. However, Sis JIAO doesn't want to go to the palace and she burns her hand at the stove. DONGPO invites the emperor and ANSHI to taste some new dishes at the restaurant. In order to alienate SU MAI from RUNZHI, Sis JIAO tries to make SU MAI believe that RUNZHI is a bad woman. DONGPO goes to the park with RUNZHI and he meets ANSHI and his wife there. DONGPO invites the ladies to play word games and he discovers that RUNZHI is not good at it. He therefore asks SU MAI to teach RUNZHI. RUNZHI doesn't know couplet at all and SU MAI wants to punish her. Sis JIAO suggests RUNZHI to bring SU MAI to the market so that she will not be punished and they meet a strong slave on the street. DONGPO reports the case to the emperor and he suggests to stop the trading of slaves. ANSHI objects it for he thinks that this is a matter of the Liao Kingdom. SHAOYOU and HUNG SI discover that a storyteller is telling the story of DONGPO and Madam HAN. The storyteller is not mentioning SHAOYOU at all. SHAOYOU and HUNG SI visit DONGPO. After learning about his situation, DONGPO wants to give him money and rice but SHAOYOU rejects him. RUNZHI doesn't want to manage the financial matters of the family and she wants to pass the job to DAMEI again and YUE'E supports the idea. The fan shop's owner suggests to sell the shop to DAMEI. DAMEI is interested and she wants to borrow money from DONGPO. During the time, Pork Vendor RONG suddenly returns money to them and DAMEI finds that the money is just enough for her to buy the fan shop. DAMEI's case is discovered and DONGPO scolds her. DAMEI promises to return the money in three days. DAMEI meets her ex-boyfriend JICHANG and JICHANG is willing to invest in her shop. DONGPO believes that SU MAI is playing tricks on RUNZHI and he scolds him. SU MAI complains that he is being wronged and he runs away from home. They try to hint to DAMEI that she should name the fan shop as "Tied Together Fans" and DAMEI accepts DONGPO's suggestion. DAMEI sends JICHANG a fan and YUE'E is very jealous. JICHANG tries to return the fan to DAMEI and DONGPO thinks that YUE'E is unreasonable. DONGPO doesn't want DAMEI to meet up with JICHANG again and RUNZHI quarrels with him. Sis JIAO is happy and she reveals to DONGPO that RUNZHI seems to have close relationship with SHAOYOU. XIAOMEI suddenly visits RUNZHI. She discovers that SHAOYOU and Sis JIAO are sitting on the bed. After learning the status of WANG PANG, YUE'E is jealous for DAMEI has a rich and powerful friend. DAMEI invites WANG PANG to meet up with DONGPO. She discovers a carriage arriving and her elder brother SU ZHE and his wife SHI MI are returning to the capital. The imperial examination is coming. The emperor asks SU ZHE to return so that he could help to draft the questions for the examination. DONGPO presents the sericulture report but ANSHI suspects if the contents are accurate. When SHUMEI wakes up, she loses her memory completely. There are thunder and lightning in the evening. SHUMEI asks XIAOMEI to stay with her. XIAOMEI shows her the hairpin for SHAOYAO. On the next day, DONGPO discovers that his father's beloved vast is broken. XIAOMEI discovers that her hairpin is missing. SHUMEI teaches XIAOMEI to find the hairpin with blood spirit. DONGPO is surprised that SHAOYAO is supporting ANSHI. DAMEI urges DONGPO to bring RUNZHI back as soon as possible. She suggests him to prepare RUNZHI's favourite dish to please her. DAMEI falls asleep in the day and YUE'E scolds her. When DAMEI tries to answer back, she suddenly vomits and collapses. It is found that DAMEI is pregnant. RUNZHI rejects her and Madam HON threatens her that she will kill DONGPO. HON YUAN explains to RUNZHI why Madam HON wants her to marry him. He suggests that RUNZHI could ask DONGPO to sign the divorce agreement first so that Madam HON will be pleased. There is an outbreak of epidemic disease at Silk Village and the emperor asks SHAOYOU to investigate it at Silk Village with two imperial doctors. XIAOMEI discovers that SHAOYOU has forgotten to take his gloves and she asks HONG SI to go to Silk Village with her. SHAOYOU arrives at Silk Village and he discovers that Dr LI is the origin of the disease. Dr MA tries to feel ANSHI's pulse and he discovers that ANSI's symptoms are similar to Dr LI. SHAOYOU realizes that this is an infectious disease and he tries to quarantine all the patients at the relay station. When XIAOMEI arrives, her finger is wounded by a female patient. XIAOMEI is infected. She gets mad and attacks SHAOYAO. Some patients want to escape. SHAOYAO tries to stop them and he is wounded by them as well. WANLI arrives at the village entrance with soldiers to monitor the situation and they are prepared to burn the whole village. DONGPO arrives to stop WANLI and they start a quarrel. The incident is over and DONGPO comments that SHAOYAO has done a great job. The emperor resumes SHAOYAO's post. The Taoist helps SHUMEI to practice black magic. He says that the victim will definitely die if SHUMEI stabs the grass puppet with needle and lets this person drink the charm water. SHUMEI put XIAOMEI's name inside the grass puppet and she gives it to Ms WU. SHAOYAO returns home to discover that XIAOMEI has farted and the room is very smelly. RUNZHI visits JICHANG at Spring Wine Restaurant to inform him that YUE'E is sick. JICHANG visits YUE'E at the temple for he wants to take care of her but YUE'E rejects him. YUE'E visits RUNZHI at Su Mansion and RUNZHI asks her to stay there at night. GAO GUI tidies up the garden in the morning and he is shocked to discover a dead body in the well. The dead person is SHUMEI. WANLI carries out investigation at Su Mansion. The soldiers discover iron chopsticks in RUNZHI's room and they capture her for further investigation. DONGPO, SHAOYAO and HONG SI go to drink at the pub. He has got inspiration suddenly and he writes a poem. When they return, SHAOYAO is overjoyed to learn that XIAOMEI is pregnant. The storyteller tries to tell the story of DONGPO and QIN CAO with DONGPO's new poem and the emperor is very angry about it. DONGPO is very tired and he resigns to the emperor but the emperor rejects him. DONGPO, SHAOYAO and HONG SI go to drink at the pub again. DONGPO has got inspiration suddenly and he writes a poem with four sentences on the table. DONGPO returns to the Chancellor Temple to worship the god. The old monk gives advice to him and DONGPO is enlightened. When DONGPO leaves the temple, many soldiers suddenly arrive to arrest him. The emperor visits DONGPO at the prison.… ...

With the help of HONG SI, DONGPO meets up with SU MAI and XIAOMEI. DONGPO asks SHAOYAO to take care of all family members. SHAOYAO repents to RUNZHI that he has wrote the last two sentences of the rebellious poem. SHAOYAO surrenders himself to the emperor. The emperor reveals that he has knew it already and RUNZHI is the one who told him everything about the poem. RUNZHI believes that DONGPO is in love with QIN CAO and he is not loyal to both the emperor and herself. She thinks that DONGPO should be killed so that she could eat his meat. DONGPO is sentenced to death by boiling his body. RUNZHI visits him at the prison and DONGPO suggests to divorce her so that she could marry another man. The emperor disguises himself as an ordinary man to check out his people with ANSHI. He learns from the storyteller that DONGPO has written a rebellious poem to influence the people. He also discovers that the people are arguing about DONGPO's matter.… ...
