June 6, 1991

KO CHEUNG, who is famous in gambling, is not satisfied with his career development in Hong Kong, so he goes to explore his 'business' in Philippine with LUO YAT FEI and AU YEUNG FUNG. KEI KIU is dissatisfied with KO CHEUNG of not having a stable job. She often advises him not to spend too much time in the casino and even threatens him of going away. Finally, KO CHEUNG promises her to give up gambling after he has earned enough money in Philippine. He also claims that he will be back to Hong Kong when their youngest son reaches the age of nine months. KO CHEUNG cooperates with YAT FEI in gambling and they have earned a lot of money. They all feel very excited. In the night before they leave Philippine, YAT FEI brings KO CHEUNG to entertain in the nightclub. They break into quarrel with a gang of Philippines. YAT FEI kills one of them accidentally……

KO CHEUNG often gets along with YAT FEI. He often mentions about their friendship and those 'venture' days in the past. This makes VAT FE! feel very dissatisfied. He instructs SUPREME to look after him aiming only to stop him fr6m speaking too much. SUPREME misunderstands that YAT FE! is dissatisfied with him of having too many part-time jobs and delegates KO to look over him. As a result, he is very cautious from KO. Later when he finds out KO of having no authority, he often fools him. Once KO CHEUNG intends to beat SUPREME for his disgusting behaviour, he sees his wife KE! KIU in the queue for buying flats. Just when he approaches the queue, there is a sudden confusion. Two of them are being separated. By observing that SUPREME and KEI KIU must have some relationship, KO CHEUNG carries out an investigation and finally discovers that KEI KIU is SUPREME's mother……

KO CHEUNG meets KEI KIU by chance. She feels happy and' angry. She also claims to kill him. As KO CHEUNG has no chance to speak in defense of himself, he has to wait for the next chance. KO CHEUNG invites SUPREME to have a meal intending to identify himself. However, SUPREME meets KA LING. He is attracted by her beauty and pays all his attention to her. This creates no chance for KO to talk to him in detail. KA LING is a typical greedy woman. As intending to speculate in force and stock, she entices SUPREME aiming to get some advantages from him. SUPREME loses control as thinking that he can get her love very easily. ‧ Originally, KE! KIU feels hopeless about KO CHEUNG and intends to spend her rest life in grasping for money. But after KO CHEUNG appears, she feels very frustrated. HUNG SHUI YAN is an inborn bad luck symbol where her parents have already been dead……

After several times of conversation, KO CHEUNG still fails to get the forgiveness of KEI KIU. She even warns him not to see their children as this will interrupt their normal life. Feeling very disappointed, KO CHEUNG decides to leave Hong Kong. Before he leaves Hong Kong, he asks their children to work hard but nobody seems to listen to him. Instead they scold their father in front of him and this makes KO feel very sad. KO CHEUNG says goodbye to KEI KIU and drops down an old family photograph carelessly. She observes this and believes that KO still loves their family. She feels so impressed that she allows him to see their children for one month but restricts him to disclose their relationship. Without alternative, KO accepts this arrangement. KO CHEUNG moves to live in KIU's house by-all means. He feels very jealous after seeing the intimate relationship of TIN CHEUNG and KIU's family……

Once SHUI YAN is robbed. By that time, CHAK KOW just passes by and is being robbed also. CHAK KOW is often neglected by his family. He has a pure character and this strongly attracts SHUI YAN. She often excuses to get close to him. CHAK KOW is not greedy but in order to curry favor for his family, he pretends to love money very much. Seeing CHUN YIN has close 'relationship with another girl, KO?CHEUNG knows that he doesn't love MARBLE faithfully. -So he tries to stop their relationship~ However, MARBLE feels very - dissatisfied for KO's disturbance. As SHU! YAN treats him very good, CHAK KOW treats her as good friend. However, she misunderstands that he wants to court her and she feels very happy. One day, CHAK KOW meets KA LING and is attracted ~Y her beauty. As he obtains KA LING's information from her, SHU! YAN feels very disappointed to discover that CHAK KOW loves her cousin rather than her. CHAK KOW pursues KA LING bravely. When SUPREME knows that CHAK KOW competes with him in courting LING, he shows enmity towards KOW. In fact, KA LING has a bet with someone on CHAK KOW's love on her. Finding that KO CHEUNG concern KEI KIU very much, TIN CHEUNG misunderstands that KO CHEUNG likes housewife. So he inte:1ds to change a prostitute SIU FUNG into a housewife and introduc8s her to KO CHEUNG where he can entrust his emotion. After CHAK KOW gets back the profit of his investment in the family business, he intends to open a computer shop but still lacks enough money. SHUI YAN realizes this and promises to support him. After cheating MARBLE a huge sum of money, CHUN YIN disappears. Upon investigation, they discover that he is actually a swindler of sex and money. This breaks up MARBLE's dream of becoming a rich man's wife. SUPREME and MARBLE pity for each other. Once they have been drunk and make disturbance in the street. They are then caught by the police. When KEI KIU finds SUPREME's strange behaviour at home, she brings him to consult the doctor with KO CHEUNG. The doctor confirms that SUPREME has nervous breakdown for the stock market crisis and he needs a long rest……

However, he finds that she still loves him and he finally decides to stay here. As CHAK KOW feels that he has now been successful, he plans to buy a new flat and intends to live with SHUI YAN. She is very pleased of having this ideal boy-friend . After KO CHEUNG realizes that CHAK KOW often gambles in the casino, he feels regretful and strongly advises him to stop gambling. However, he doesn’t accept his advice. After many years of working as policeman, TIN CHEUNG. is ordered to receive training again in the training camp……

As KO's family has now been rich, CHAK KOW decides to redecorate TIN CHEUNG's old flat so that he will possess a comfortable home after being back from the training camp. CHAK KOW accompanies SHUI YAN to participate in a luxurious ball, she feels uncomfortable. Due to her lack of social skills, she makes a lot of mistakes and feels very embarrassing. SUPREME meets VAT FEI in a charity auction. In order to show them his wealth, he competes with him in the auction of an antique and he finally gets that antique with very high price. CHAK KOW feels very dissatisfied for SUPREME's ambition of excelling. As VAT FEI i~ suspicious of SUPREME's source of money, he requests KA LING to get close to him and does the investigation. On the other hand, MARBLE and SUPREME are also very interested to know CHAK KOW's way of earning money……

After being back from the training camp, TIN CHEUNG observes that KO CHEUNG shows great concern for KEI KIU. As he loves KEI KIU, he feels the threat from KO and decides to court her with more efforts. However, at the same plot on TIN CHEUNG. KEI KIU misunderstands that TIN CHEUNG bring SIU FUNG back to have sexual relationship instead. TIN CHEUNG intends to arrange K.EI KIU to spend the holiday with him alone in the Lantau Island. However, she has invited Ko CHEUNG and CHAK KOW to go with her. This makes TIN CHEUNG feel very disappointed. As TIN CHEUNG shows great concern for KEI KIU, KO CHEUNG has also made up his mind to compete with him. This makes KEI feel very troublesome. TIN CHEUNG is instructed to investigate in the case of illegal casino 6perated by the triad society. He discovers that KO CHEUNG and YAT FEI are very famous in gambling in the past years. He decides to do more investigation as to gather more evidence for the crime of KO CHEUNG……

June 27, 1991

Seeing that CHAK KOW becomes very rich, SHU! YAN is afraid that her poor dressing will make KOW lose his face. So she requests KA LING to bring her to an image institute to learn the dressing and cosmetology. However, this makes her appearance become more worse and CHAK KOW feels dissatisfied. SHUI YAN is strongly pursued by one instructor in the image institute. As she is afraid that CHAK KOW will be dissatisfied, she hides the secret. However, KA LING points out that SHUI YAN should make use of this chance to make CHAK KOW feel jealous he will then care about her more strongly. In fact, this is only a plot made by KA LING so that she can sweep away SHUI YAN. Then she can get close t6 CHAK KOW more easily. When SHUI YAN pretends to get close to the instructor, ‧she is made to be drunk one night. KA LING arranges CHAK KOW to see the scene of YAN and the instructor together in a room ……

KA LING tries to get close to CHAK KOW and she speaks ill of SHUI YAN again so as to break their relationship. By using her beauty, KA LING has influenced CHAK KOW a lot. After KEI KIU knows that CHAK KOW indulges in gambling, she is very angry and misunderstands that this is due to his father's influence. As she is afraid that he will follow his father's footmark, she goes to quarrel with KO CHEUNG. In confusion, she falls down from the stair carelessly and is. being sent to the hospital. After KEI KIU wakes up, she is still angry of KO and discloses the fact that KO is the father of CHAK KOW unintentionally. This surprises everybody. SUPREME and others misunderstand that KO CHEUNG has intention to cheat them. They all feel very angry. He can no longer live in their family and has to go to live under the shelter of AU YEUNG FUNG……

July 1, 1991

After SHUI YAN discovers the relationship of CHAK KOW and KA LING, she feels very sad and decides to leave him. As SUPREME realizes YAT FEI's plot, he wants to blackmail him but in vain. Then he requests KO CHEUNG to teach him the gambling skills so as to disrupt FEI's plot but KO also refuses. CHAK KOW wants to buy a large flat for KEI KIU so that she can live more comfortably. As he is afraid that she will refuse to accept, he uses SUPREME's name to buy the flat instead. KEI KIU finally discovers that CHAK KOW is the real buyer of the flat and she refuses to accept. Their relationship is getting worse. On the other hand, TIN CHEUNG tries his best to maintain the relationship of the family members. In order to stop CHAK KOW from indulging in gambling, TIN CHEUNG sweeps away VAT FEI's various illegal casinos desperately so as to force him to loose his hold for KOW……

July 2, 1991

After getting the blow, SUPREME expresses his regrets to KEI KIU for often taking advantages from CHAK KOW in the past. KEI KIU forgives him and decides to search for KOW corporately. Under the influence of KA LING, CHAK KOW is willing to be utilized in participating the Gamble King Contest. As TIN CHEUNG has no other ways to defeat YAT FEI, he finally thinks of requesting KO CHEUNG to help. He intends to let KO CHEUNG use his elite gambling skills to defeat CHAK KOW so as to suppress his confidence. However, due to his poor health condition, KO CHEUNG is so nervous in the casino that he cannot concentrate in gambling. Being very disappointed, KO CHEUNG finally thinks of training SHUI YAN to compete with CHAK KOW and he will control the event in remote. As SHUI YAN has been misunderstood of being unfaithful, she feels very embarrassing to see CHAK KOW again……

With the support of KO CHEUNG at the back, SHUI YAN enters the final competition unexpectedly and this surprises the audience. As YAT FEI feels the challenge of SHUI YAN, he realizes that her master is KO CHEUNG and intends to request KO to quit the competition with force and money. However, KO CHEUNG refuses. At the Gamble ‧King final competition. SHUI YAN is in the upper hand. As YAT FEI is afraid that she will disrupt his plan, he delegates someone to kidnap KEI KIU as to force her to disclose the location of KO CHEUNG. After YAT FEI finds KO CHEUNG, he stops him for the remote control of SHUI YAN immediately. Being so helpless, SHUI YAN loses all her advantages. However, with SUPREME's encouragement, she rouses her courage and finally‧ manages to become the Gamble Queen. On the other hand, CHAK KOW feels very disappointed. Being very depressed, CHAK KOW still gets pressure from YAT FEI……
