Don Alberto's clue takes Onofre to Barcelona, where he discovers that he is now an accountant in a cabaret. Onofre returns to Paradas confused since the clues he follows do not give any answers. In 1975, Picazo investigated the estate's accounts on behalf of Don Alejandro, obtaining compromising information that the Marquis could not allow to reach the hands of his father-in-law.

In 1977 Doña Concha, worried because Onofre has been talking to her mother, sends the Marquis to silence him. Thus the final confrontation between the Marquis and Onofre takes place.
