1x1 - Episode 1

Some romances are not straightforward. BEN TING meets CHING TIN NAM at the airport in Australia due to a misunderstanding and NAM thinks that BEN is an erotomaniac. BEN is the Chief Executive Officer of Ting Fung Goldsmith; he accidentally meets NAM and then falls in love with NAM later. He visits Perth to complete the gold business deal and lives at the house of aunt Mary, who is the aunt of his close friend, CHOW HOK LUN. LUN is gay; but he still has a girlfriend named NAM. Although Aunt MARY encourages LUN to treasure NAM, LUN cannot change his sexual behavior. Ironically, NAM misunderstands that BEN has a different sexual interest. LUN takes BEN to visit the goldfield; meanwhile, LUN takes the chance to tell NAM the truth. NAM finds herself in confusion and runs to a dangerous mine carelessly. Hence, BEN follows and enters the mine to rescue her. BEN realizes that his uncle, CHAI, kidnaps his adopted father, TING WING BON.… ...

BEN and NAM meet again but in an opposite position now. NAM is disappointed to learn that BEN commits a crime. BON rebukes BEN to meet with CHAI secretly; however, his lawyer, CHIU MAN JACK declares that he is confident for this lawsuit. NAM realizes that BON is a triad in the past and she feels pity for BEN to follow the pattern of his father. The close friend of BON, LAW KAI CHONG urges BON to remit the company fund that BEN has borrowed previously but BON is angry and ignores him at the moment. NAM visits the police office to collect more details for the case; whilst she hears about the conversation of HON and finds a woman smashes HON publicly. HON leaves a bad impression to NAM then. Conversely, the beauty of NAM attracts HON. The adopted mother of BEN, SUN YU BO prays for BEN at the temple. Unfortunately, she gets a divination, which shows negative for the future of BEN; yet, she has a second thought then.… ...

BEN chooses to take self-defense for the case and succeeds in turning back the downside situation by distracting the attention of judiciaries on moral ethics instead of the charge. Afterwards, BEN dates NAM for dinner to celebrate and develops further understanding. They prepare to eat at a famous Chinese dim sum ‘Pillow Stuffing’ on the next day. NAM helps a cop to arrest a thief; interestingly, the cop is her younger sister named YU. NAM knows that her father is looking for a lost tortoise; hence, she lies about the tortoise has gone for an adventure at the outer space. Her definition brings her mother laughter, YUEN HEI AH instead. On the press conference for a jewelry auction, the director of Ming Shek Jewelry Shop, HANGG PAK TO queries about the jewelers history of Ting Fung Goldsmith; which forces BEN to withdraw from the auction. On the other hand, NAM is angry that BEN does not show up for their appointment.… ...

NAM has a negative perception on HON; therefore, HON confronts with her directly. Meanwhile, the woman who previously smashed HON arrives and apologies to HON. Thus, NAM realizes that she has misunderstood HON in the past. HON and his colleagues LEUNG and CHOU play golf together. Coincidentally, they meet BEN at the course. Afterwards, a few men beat HON. Though BEN gives him a helping hand, CHOU suspects that BEN is the one who plots the attack. But BEN treats the accusation as a joke. Meanwhile, HON discovers the relationship between BEN and NAM, so he begins to query about the professionalism of NAM. Of course, NAM disagrees with his point of view. HON returns home with the wounds; thus, makes his uncle, WI KUK and aunt YU QUN YUK so worried. BEN picks up NAM to buy a cheesecake and parks his car on street illegally. Meanwhile, YU passes by and tends to charge him for illegal parking. NAM returns and argues with her sister.… ...

HON promotes to be a sergeant; KUK is pleased. At the same time, KUK is the chief editor of Lung weekly magazine. He writes a chapter and discloses the history of BON, CHAI and CHONG at the magazine; thus, offends BON. Meanwhile, BEN is surprised to learn the name of KUK. BEN visits the publishing company and meets KUK and HON by chance. He then tells his financial consultant as well as good friend, KIM WON HENG that he finds his biological brother and uncle. Moreover, he admits that he is the adopted son of BON only. BEN is excited to be union with his family soon; however, his adopted father, BON, who buys him snack despite of heavy rain, also touches him. BON admires the creative design of FU named ‘Spinning of fortune’ and decides to produce it massively. On the other hand, HON seeks for the legal advice from NAM on an ill-treated case. Their misunderstandings become history and they are co-partner at work now.… ...

NAM cannot believe her eyes when she discovers that BEN has such a close relationship with FU. She is shocked when BEN shows up as a hero and takes FU away from the dispute with TO. The subordinate and close friend of FU, TIN KA YIU delivers the abalone congee to FU on behalf of BEN. She often envies FU for having such a delicate soul mate; however, FU feels embarrass to tell her the truth. Suddenly, FU receives an emergency call from the hospital. She then rushes to the hospital at once. Meanwhile, CHOU discovers that FU has been ill-treated three years ago and finds BEN suspicious. He suggests HON to find more proof and defeats his love enemy. In the hospital, FU is so worried when she realizes that her younger brother, MING HANGG is in critical situation. YIU is aside and offers support to her. FU recalls her past and shares her dark side with YIU.… ...

It is certainly good news to FU to learn that BEN has got back the design of ‘Spinning the fortune’. She thanks BEN wholeheartedly. On the other hand, HON and CHOU are waiting for the criminal to show up; meanwhile, YU passes by and charges them for illegal parking. YU is aware to the weapon carried by CHOU; hence, she pulls out her gun against them right away. The criminal flees away eventually. Interesting enough, YU is promoted to CID and becomes the subordinate of HON. She is shocked when she notices about it. Meanwhile, HON is planning a secret mission named ‘Shrimp Haul’; but YU is cast out from the case. YU complaints about his revenge and requests a transferal from her supervisor, HANGG. HANGG explains to her the reason; hence, YU realizes that she has misunderstood HON then. HANGG announces that suspect; BALL is set free due to insufficient evidence. Yet, the victim, CHEUNG granny refuses to testify BALL for raping at court.… ...

Before trial, BEN breaks his statement and refuses to testify KAT. HON rebukes him for choosing the wrong decision. Meanwhile, NAM also queries BEN for over protecting BON. BEN refuses to explain but he begs NAM for her understanding sincerely. BON is upset when he notices that BEN has scarified the relationship with NAM due to the family background. NAM decides to tender her resignation. SIN disagrees with her reckless decision and suggests her to have a vacation instead. BON is aware to the sadness of BEN and encourages him to pursue NAM again. Furthermore, he promises to withdraw from the criminal deals with CHONG also. NAM leaves in the house of aunt Mary temporarily. At sudden, BEN arrives in a helicopter and proposes his love to her. BEN agrees to give up everything and starts a country life with her at Australia. NAM is content then.… ...

BON takes HENG to visit the gold factory. HENG is excited and feels interest in everything. Besides, HENG has a conflict with TSUI after he visits his pet ‘Son’. Afterwards, he finds that TSUI is chasing by a man, who claims TSUI for stealing. HENG has no alternatives but drives TSUI away from the scene.… ...

BEN tells HON that he is alike to his close friend; hence, he has a sense of familiar towards HON and wants to become his friend. HON believes that it is an opportunity for him to investigate the background of BEN then. BEN urges FU to design a star collection of jewelry to please NAM; meanwhile, proposes his love. But his passion on NAM pierces the heart of FU unintentionally. On the other hand, BON would like HENG to take up the management role to oversee the operation of Ting Fung; meanwhile, shares the workload of BEN before he immigrates to Australia.… ...

Mother, BO decides to report the kidnap of YAN to the police once she receives the bad news. However, HENG forbids her and tends to solve it privately. BON is stunned to learn that YAN is kidnapped. At the same time, the subordinate of CHONG, KAI LUCK invites BON to Lobster Bay for a deal. BO fails to have mercy from CHONG to release YAN and is driven away instead. On the other hand, BEN has a different opinion on the leniency of BON. He thinks that CHONG will take further advantage on their leniency; yet, he makes up his mind for a proactive step. Meanwhile, HON is aware to the tension of BEN and tends to find out the truth. But, he does not success in getting any information from BEN. The incident becomes chaos due to the mess up of HENG. CHONG tends to throw YAN into the sea as revenge; therefore, BEN shoots at him without serious consideration. Just when BON and BO are worrying for the danger of both BEN and YAN at home, they hear the voice of YAN suddenly. Sorrow disappears at once. The police officers find the dead body of CHONG and a teddy bear at the yacht. HON uses the teddy bear as evidence and accuses BEN for murder in the rescue of YAN. However, BEN refuses to confess and finds the evidence inadequate. NAM returns to Hong Kong and hears about the new upon her arrival. YU tells her the truth at once. NAM wonders if BEN has committed murder of CHONG; yet, the answer of BEN is disappointing. NAM is upset though she has broken up with BEN already. Meanwhile, HON tries to cheer her up. The subordinate of CHONG testifies for the police that Ting Fung Goldsmith is helping CHONG to spend the corrupted money.… ...

BO prays for mercy and takes BON to visit a scientific doctor. The doctor prescribes 3 different kinds of medicine to BON. That night, BON suffers from pain and vomits severely. He faints and is sent to the hospital immediately. The doctor diagnosis that the cancer in BON’s body is spread; yet, no prescription can save his life at the moment. BON sends BO away to buy dessert for him; thus, he reiterates BEN to take care of the family and Ting Fung Goldsmith again. He passes away peacefully then. When BO and HENG return, they mourn towards the death of BON. Things might be entirely in the control of BON. When the lawyer announces the will of BON, MAN disagrees that BEN has the biggest share in Ting Fung Goldsmith. However, TUNG pacifies her and says that he has counter measure already. The close up of Ting Fung Asset Management arises the argument between BEN and other shareholders.… ...

Romance turns to friendship successfully between LUN and NAM. LUN promises NAM to go shopping and buys CD; however, LUN is not in the mood because he has a date with his new lover. Despite his inpatient, NAM fools him around instead. LUN is angry then. YU steals the edition CD from NAM and ruins it accidentally in the CD player of HON. On the other hand, TSUI encourages HENG to apply the position of dolphin trainees and sends him the application form. HENG utters with hesitation. BEN and FU support HENG to be the dolphin trainee, so that he can have more working experience. They convince BO sincerely; thus, BO finally compromises. Of course, HENG is happy and excited. In searching for the edition CD to compensate NAM, HON spends extra cost for the entertainment. YU misunderstands that HON does it for her and feels happy. Meanwhile, HON is aware to the intimacy between LUN and NAM.… ...

LAI and his father, HO, go to Ming Shek for her wedding crown. LAI likes FU’s style and she insists to see FU. TO is very embarrassed. BEN and FU feel finds YAN very pity as BO protects her too much. BEN and FU meet a young man, GUY. They find him very good at mathematics and brave. Later, GUY applies for a position in Ting Fung. BEN offers him a position. GUY is glad. TO tempts FU to return to Ming Shek to design the wedding crown. FU refuses TO. FU meets WAI who is dating another man, she warns WAI that TO is in the restaurant. YAN tries to return home by bus on her own. NAM assists YAN. Later, NAM finds out that BEN is YAN’s sister. HO meets his old girlfriend, BO. KUK learns that BEN is not BON’s real son from the boatman who helped BON escape away years ago. This boatman even tells KUK that BEN’s original surname is CHANGG. KUK sees BEN who is paying respect at his brother and sister-in-law’s tomb.… ...

KUK and BEN acknowledge their relationship. KUK suggests BEN to see HONG with an appointment for massage with YUK. HONG decides to find a new tomb for his father and brother. Ting Fung is appointed to design for LAI’s wedding crown. FU suggests hold an exhibition to promote Ting Fung. Sir HO sends HANGG and HONG to protect the event. HONG is shocked to see BEN at his home. HONG is very dissatisfied. YUK finds that there is something wrong between KUK and BEN. She then questions KUK. KUK tells YUK the truth. The exhibition runs smoothly follow up with a celebration. Unexpectedly, BEN receives a call and learns that the Wedding Crown was robbed. Sir HO suspends HANGG and HONG from office. All worry a lot. HENG suggests use a counterfeit crown. BEN opposes. TO’s subordinate takes the opportunity to spread the news particularly to the media. TO leads a team to check WAI. He slaps WAI. WAI knew that TO has had stolen the wedding crown. She has made up her mind. TO brings FU who was very drunk to his apartment. FU tells that losing the wedding crown ruins her future and she regrets to follow BEN. TO is glad. TO and FU have had a very romantic night. The next day TO finds that the wedding crown has gone and knew that he has fallen into FU’s trap. When HENG intends to give the counterfeit crown to LAI, BEN arrives. FU claims that she stole the crown when TO is away. BEN knew that she is lying. TO sees that WAI want to leave Hong Kong. He claims that he will not let her free. WAI scolds TO who is abnormal. TO is then aware that it was WAI who helped FU to steal the crown. TO hits WAI with a sculpture. All evidences are against HANGG for the losing crown case. HONG is proved innocent. HONG finds out that KUK has received five HANGdred thousand from BEN, he urges KUK to return the money to BEN.… ...

NAM asks HONG to buy some soft drink. HONG asks YU to buy soft drink instead. He even asks YU to leave. YU leaves angrily but she turns her ankle. NAM is shocked to see BEN in CHAN’s village. She pretends to be very clam and gets along well with him. HONG brings YU home. YU scolds HONG who always bothered her family. SHAN and AH are shocked. BEN receives a call claiming that there is a bomb at Ting Fung. He immediately evacuates all customers. It was a false alarm. TO reports to the police station that his wife has disappeared. HONG investigates WAI’s departure record. YAN invites NAM to have lunch.… ...

NAM encourages YAN to develop herself and find a job. NAM sees HONG again at her home. She makes up her mind. HONG arrives at the pier and finds that NAM has asked a group of girlfriends to join them, he is very disappointed. HONG is very heart-broken to see that NAM is trying to match-make him to other girl. He even jumps into the sea and is drown. HONG frankly tells NAM that he is an orphan and he just wants to have his own family. NAM promises HONG that they can become good friends. HONG is very excited. HENG knocks down an old woman and leaves the spot frightfully. KUK knew that it was HENG’s deed. He hopes that HENG will confess his crime. HENG asks TUNG for an advice. TUNG asks him to report car loss at the police station. BEN points out that HENG had knocked down somebody to death. BO is shocked. Meanwhile, HENG returns home and lies that his car was lost. The police find out that WAI’s lover called PATRICK. HONG and YU investigate a pub where PATRICK was used to go. They find out that PATRICK has gone overseas for a vacation with a woman. HONG suspects that this woman is WAI. He believes that PATRICK is related to WAI’s disappearance. BO wants to work at Ting Fung. YAN also wants to work at Ting Fung too. YAN loses her way when she is trying to send a drawing to the workshop. She meets GUY. GUY teaches YAN how to remember the way by drawing. TO tempts FU to meet him. He points out that FU is very similar to his first love who had passed away. TO demands FU to reunite with him. FU is shocked. JACK unveils that KEI is the real murderer who is responsible for CHONG’s death. BEN is at ease. BEN asks YAN to send a box to NAM. NAM finds a pendant in the box. She is very confused. FU suddenly resigns and claims that she wants to further her study in France. BEN lets her have a long holiday.… ...

FU gives BEN a call before she leaves Ting Fung. Unexpectedly, he hears TO’s voice. TO tells FU that he has caught BEN and requests to see her. BEN finds that NAM and him are being locked up in a drowning car. They are shocked. BEN tells NAM that he has never killed CHEONG and wishes to be with NAM again. NAM is touched. TO told FU that BEN has already drown to death. FU is shocked. BEN and NAM escape from death. BEN goes to the pier to look for FU immediately after the escape. However, he is shocked to find out that TO is dead. The police arrive. Both FU and BEN claim that they have killed TO. BEN decides to defend for himself and asks JACK to defend for FU. LUN and SUM are the prosecutors. BEN is being prosecuted. NAM is heart-broken to see BEN admit that he is a murderer. BO worries a lot for BEN. TUNG proposes HENG to take over Ting Fung at the moment. HANG and BO support.… ...

HENG is the acting Managing Director. Both HONG and SUM believe that BEN is the scapegoat. However, there is no substantial evidence to support their belief. LUN proposes BEN to turn to a witness. BEN prefers to put in jail together with FU rather than accused FU. NAM begs BO to persuade BEN change his mind. NAM sees BEN and persuades BEN that the only way to help FU is becoming a witness. BEN refuses NAM. JACK proposes BEN to sacrifice NAM and tells BEN his plan. BEN agrees. LUN helps BEN to apply for an exemption from prosecution. However, BEN gives different testimonies at court. LUN is shocked. All are very surprised. NAM is very heart-broken to see BEN betraying her. FU also gives different testimonies. She even unveils her relationship with TO and discloses that she loves BEN deeply. LUN and JACK speak for and against the offender respectively at court. FU is very nervous.

The judge is very disappointed to the jury returned to a verdict of not guilty and reserves the right of charging BEN of impediment to the course of justice. When the reporters question NAM whether she has deliberately protected BEN, she felt being betrayed. HONG helps NAM to get rid of the reporters. FU feels very sorry as she has spoiled BEN and NAM’s relationship. However, BEN expresses that he does love her after the case closed. FU is very glad. HONG blames BEN who has betrayed NAM and ruined her reputation. NAM speaks good words on BEN calmly. NAM apologizes to NAM. NAM understands him and knows that he will take care of FU. BEN’s decision breaks NAM’s heart. BEN embraces NAM and expresses that he is very reluctant to leave her. All are glad to see BEN and FU become lovers, only JACK knows BEN’s heart. NAM resigns. Her superior, KEUNG thinks that NAM should not take the responsibility upon oneself and resign.… ...

JACK points out that BEN may win. However, BEN insists to confess his crime. JACK goes to see LUN and comes to an agreement that BEN will sentence to a six weeks imprisonment. HONG invites NAM to go fishing, NAM does not say she will go or not. HONG waits for NAM for a long time. NAM appears when HONG felt very depressed. NAM discovers that AH has got a lot of invoices from restaurant. YU tells NAM that AH bought all dishes from restaurants and pretended that all food was cooked by her. They hear that AH refuses SHAN to go picnic as she has to attend cooking lesson. They suspect her and follow her. They find that she is taking jewelry design course instead. SHAN’s novel again won a prize and the TV station interviews him, he urges AH to join the interview. NAM works in a law firm, HONG prepares a home-made lunch box for her. NAM praises his cooking. HONG tells his family how he makes use of lunch box to win NAM’s heart.… ...

BEN is glad to find that the sales revenue of Ting Fung increases when he released from prison. HENG proposes to set up an investment company. BEN thinks that it is not the right time as he believes that they should concentrate on the gold business. All support but HENG is very disappointed. AH wins the champion in a jewelry design contest together with an jewelry designer agreement with Ting Fung. She is both glad and full of worries. NAM encourages her. SHAN opposes AH to go out to work. His daughters blame SHAN who is a male chauvinist. HONG also joins to persuade SHAN. AH meets her old-lover, HANG on the first day of work. They chat with each other happily. NAM sees them and recalls what she had seen years ago. HANG sends AH home and quarrels with SHAN. NAM sees that SHAN blames HANG and AH are old lovers. AH denies. NAM points out what she had seen when she was young. AH denies but they do not believe her.… ...

BEN and FU are looking for an apartment. FU is shocked to see TO and shouts. FU worries a lot for her illusion. YIU thinks that it is her pre-marriage phobia. YAN applies for a job in a fast-food shop. She meets GUU. GUY teaches her basic interview technique. BO does not allow YAN to work in a fast-food shop. YAN is very upset with BO who does not support her. BEN persuades BO to let YAN work at Ting Fung. AH vents her anger on food. She eats too much food and vomits. LIN thinks of a device. NAM is shocked to hear that AH has committed suicide. SHAN knows that it is a plot. NAM and HONG arrive. NAM wants to call for an ambulance. All find that it is not necessary. HONG knows that it is a trick. SHAN is very unease. He goes to the hospital when AH is sending to the operation room. SHAN tells AH his heart. AH is glad. YAN is instructed to deliver a bag of diamonds to the safe. YAN loses the diamond.… ...

FU is under great pressure since TO died. She decides to leave Hong Kong after seeing the psychological doctor. BEN respects her decision. BEN sees NAM and HONG who are dating and buying small tortoise together. He fills with emotion. HONG invites NAM home to see his parents. NAM refuses his invitation. HONG requests NAM to take some sticker photo with him. NAM again refuses him. HONG is very disappointed. HONG lies that he does not want to bring NAM home. All do not believe in his word. HONG by chance learns that BEN and FU have separated. TSUI warns HONG how delicate NAM and his relationship is. HONG is very depressed. YU finds HONG very frustrated. YU tells NAM that HONG is lack of confidence. NAM does not respond. HONG tells NAM that BEN and FU have already separated. He will bless her and BEN if she is going to reunite with him. NAM claims that she will consider in light that they have just started. HONG is very upset.… ...

HONG apologizes to NAM. NAM takes the initiative to take sticker photo with HONG. HONG is glad. YUK encourages TSUI to take the initiative to court the guy she admired. TSUI then dates HENG with an excuse of showing him the dolphin photos. However, HENG does not show up. TSUI thinks that it was YIU who spoiled their appointment. BEN asks HENG to prepare a market analysis report. HENG excuses that he is busy in doing the investment plan and wants to decline BEN. However, HENG does not succeed. TSUI finds that Ting Fung is looking for a junior clerk. She makes up her mind. HONG is very dissatisfied with his family who occupied his time with NAM alone. He kisses NAM in front of them. YIU is shocked to learn that TSUI is the new clerk. They quarrel again. HENG is vexed for the market analysis report. TSUI offers HENG help. YIU thinks that TSUI will make a mess.… ...

TUSI brings HENG to a disco. A gold-hair guy takes advantage on TSUI. When HENG is negotiating with this gold-hair guy, HONG and his team arrive for an inspection. The police find out that HENG has got some illegal drug. TSUI knows that HENG is innocent. HONG ignores TSUI’s comment. The gold-hair guy is under arrest. HENG and TSUI are then released. KUK asks TSUI not to get acquainted with HENG. KUK opposes TSUI to date HENG. He even tells YUK that HENG had knocked down somebody to death. HONG eavesdrops at their conversation. BO knows that BEN and HENG have had a quarrel. BO asks HENG to forgive BEN. HENG is sick of BO who spoke too much good words for BEN.
