At the first day of the stream cleansing Erik awakens at 4 o'clock in the morning, but he has to wait for two hours until Svensson and baron Urse turn up at the raft. When Märtha awakens in the morning in the wood, after the night when she lost her virginity, she is alone. The Baron has left her, and gone back to the night camp of the men on the raft.
