Alain De Croes shoots a shop assistant during a failed robbery. When he flees he also shoots 16 year old Dennis Verdonck, because he thought the boy saw his license plate. The only witness is his friend, the 14 year old Nico Van Ham, who is deaf, so his interrogation is very difficult. The police demands help from Nadia Gillis-Barez, Nico's sign language interpreter and ex-teacher. Despite the lack of communication, Matti and Tibo find out the boy is lying, because his story keeps changing. Apparently their friend Sarah also has something to do with it. In the mean time Reggie searches for the robbers gray Escort in the midst of all the cars in Brussels. Thanks to his minute research he can shorten the list severely.

Criminals Jos Van Mierlo and Danny Borré plan a robbery. Danny's mother Irma "Printemps" Lentedecker, a former diva from the Folies Bergères, has a relationship with Gustaaf Peeters. He has a job with an exchange office. Nobody suspects that this old, silly guy, who walks his dog daily, has a few million in his bag. Except for Mierlo and Borré. Borré could use that money very well, because he has a debt with some Moroccan loan sharks. They need a getaway car and plan to steal one from the parking of the Kinepolis. And from all the cars they could steal, they steal the car from the son of the attorney general. Bad move!

Nina Heylen has car trouble at night and gets raped in a dark alley and murdered afterward. The forensic team find traces of building material on her body. But finding clues at a building site is like searching for a needle in a haystack. Underneath Nina's body a tank card is found. This is the property of Nicole Callens, an editor of a woman's magazine. Her boyfriend René Stevens, who is unemployed, is known by the police as an aggressive drunkard. Nicole lies when she says her friend never uses her car. But is this evidence he is involved in the rape?

The gangster Arnold Somville escapes from prison. His cell mate, junkie Dirk Van Hout, tells the police he might have shot his mouth off against Somville. Dirk's parents have a luxurious boutique in the Louisalaan and they have Canadian obligates, worth 3 million Franks, at home for grabs. Tibo, who is a regular customer there, warns Arthur Van Hout, but he can't arrange police protection, which pisses Arthur off very much. To be safe, he brings his obligates to the bank. That same night Somville pays him a visit and when there is nothing to steal, he shoots down Arthur. The attorney general, a personal friend of the Van Houtens, furiously blames Snoeckx, because he knew there was something going down and he did nothing.

The two not too bright second hand car dealers Paul Antonis and Marc De Laet, try to earn some extra money by selling paintings in the showroom. They do earn a little extra now and again, but no so much as Paul spend on his mistress Rita Coppens just before he gets murdered. At the scene of the crime John sees "Het Baronneke", Clément Goeminne. He's a spiv who lies and cheats people of their money all of his life. John believes that if he's in the neighborhood, he must have something to do with the murder. No matter how charming he may sell him self.

February 2, 1997
Joel Mattijsen breaks in at his former employer, remembering a million is kept there in a safe. But Hugo De Pauw, the night watchman, shoots Joel. An anonymous witness, a man from a couple who made love on a car park, saw a white car driving away very fast. This confirms the testimony from De Pauw and explains why the bag with the million has disappeared. Frank, the son of Mattijsen, has exactly the same white car as seen at the car park. Besides that, De Pauw lied about the fact he knew Mattijsen from the past.

For Tibo and Nadia it gets tricky when they witness an accident. The little boy is hurt very badly and the car didn't stop. With their statement Nadia's husband will know they have an affair. So it's time to come clean and tell him. The driver of the car had just been involved in a robbery on the pensioned wine merchant Raymond Kronenbergs. His son André tries everything to minimize the robbery. He doesn't want the police to poke around in their incestuous family. But that gets difficult when one of the stolen check's is used in the local supermarket and with the robot photo looking exactly like grandson Filip.

Doris De Caluwé works at an express delivery company. She is caught in the act when she holds back packages with expensive contents. At her home they find mostly jewels, but there is also a package for the undertakers firm of Arnold and Chris Van Beek. Between two panels the police find a rather big stash of heroin. After questioning it seems that Chris is put under pressure by Patrick Lemoine, an underworld figure. Chris has to pay off his gambling debts by drug running. In return for a reduced sentence he agrees to help getting the big guys of the gang. But it totally goes wrong. In the mean time Matti feels sorry for Doris, because Doris stole to pay for a breast prosthetic. She lost one due to breast cancer. But is such a compassion justified?

All of rural Dworp is upset to hear blue collar Raf Cauwenberghs's soccer-gifted son Kevin (11) went missing during a late wood run after group practice with coach Roger Poelaert. As if the locals' hostility against 'impertinent, lazy' federal cops weren't bad enough, the three involved police departments bicker amongst themselves. The captain puts John in charge as he wife is about to give birth. The team discovers the coach's adolescent son Patrick deals in stolen motorbikes. Gay teacher Peter Fonteyne tutored Kevin, according to unsubstantiated rumors with pedophile abuse. the crowd turns on him when Kevin's corps is found by his uncle-godfather Maurice Cauwenberghs in the part of the wood indicated by a 'medium'.

[Continues the previous episode] Lt. Capelle takes formula command of the team since the captain takes paternity leave. Gay teacher Peter Fonteyne's dubious alibi seems completely compromised after his Brussels lover Guido Pauwels declares they broke op weeks ago, but the painstaking chase of male prostitute Zoran establishes it to be trough. Forensics on Kevin's corps found traces of oxidation and protective paint, steroids doping and muscular injuries gravely questioning his athletic future. The soccer league actually reveals they notified coach Poelart, who admits he made a financial deal with pa Raf, Kevin called to refuse any recruitment. .
