Then Booth is stabbed with a paper knife during an argument with his stepson, who says it was an accident. Later Booth is found stabbed to death in a car park, and four people are under suspicion: the secretary and her boyfriend, her father, and Booth's stepson.

A clairvoyant tells Lilian Galvin that her missing husband has been murdered. Two guests at the séance ask the police to investigate Galvin's disappearance.

After robbing diamond merchant Charles Pollen, two armed men are pursued by security guards, one of whom is shot and wounded. The Homicide team work on this case with Sgt. Bannister of the local CIB, who is an old adversary of Sgt. Mackay.
