1x1 - Episode 1

February 1, 1999

SHEK has a conflict with ROCKY, a police dog in an operation of arresting illegal immigrants. ROCKY, with humanity, decides to teach him a lesson. SHEK lives with CHUNG, his uncle, a gambler who always pay his debts with the electrical appliances at home. This always gives SHEK a headache. LONG, SHEK'S neighbor, is a nurse who works with a vet, YAN. YAN is passionate to animals. SHAN, LONG's best friend, whose wallet has been snatched and is found by SHEK. SHEK is very much interested in SHAN. WAH, who is SHAN'S boyfriend and a movie playwright, leads a hectic life. SHAN has a harmonious relationship with her family. SHEK, having difficulty to deal with people, applies to transfer to the canine division. SHEK and CHUNG win the Mark Six Lottery but the coupon is unfortunately taken away by DONG-DONG, a dog raised by LONG.

1x2 - Episode 2

February 2, 1999

LONG reprimands CHUNG and SHEK for bullying DONG-DONG. DONG DONG is found missing in the next morning. LONG. Suspecting CHUNG & SHEK, LONG reports the case to the police and also posts bills to search for DONG DONG. SHEK succeeds in transferring to the canine division but his assigned dog unexpectedly is ROCKY whose uncooperative attitude worries SHEK. SHAN move to village house living with WAH. On SHEK'S exam day, ROCKY, considering SHEK could help him to find the killer of its ex-owner,, co-operates with SHEK to pass his exam. On its beat, ROCKY, running across DUDU, startles at her beauty but SHEK suspects it is the pet of his ex-girlfriend. SHAN and WAH move to SHEK'S downstairs and become neighbor. WAH has an affair with IVY, SHAN'S enemy, and cheated SHAN. ROCKY, who flies into rage and scares gangsters away gets SHEK into trouble as complaints arise.… ...

1x3 - Episode 3

February 3, 1999

SHAN settles down and continues her work. However, IVY has taken the officer position by hook or by crook. SHAN resigns after beating IVY up. When the police escort a suspect to rehearse at his home, he suddenly realizes it is the crime scene for the case of body dissection. The prospective buyer, accompanied by SHAN, is scared off but SHEK takes upon to be her tenant. SHAN appreciates SHEK and moves to the third floor to live with them. On beat with SHEK, ROCKY sees HUIN, the killer, and chases him madly. SHEK can make neither head nor tail of it. ROCKY goes to look for HUIN on its own and let SHEK take the blame again. Running across furious bandits, ROCKY is hurt for saving SHEK whose superior, MAN is dissatisfied with his performance and orders him to be retrained at camp. SHEK thinks MAN is picking on him. New tenants on the second floor are unexpectedly WAH and IVY.… ...

1x4 - Episode 4

February 4, 1999

YAN is entangled by his client, MAY but LONG is mistaken by her as being jealous. In the clinic, YAN insistently refuses MAY and LONG tells YAN no longer brings his personal affairs to the office. Seeing LONG putting on a solemn look, YAN teases at her again and LONG is angry. HONG, SHEK'S ex-supervisor, intends to have SHEK and his daughter, MAN, engaged and SHEK knows nothing about it. Observing YAN'S consultation, LONG thinks YAN is only focusing on making money and not caring for the life and death of the animals. YAN feels bad without saying a word. Knowing SHAN'S family is going to visit SHAN, LONG tells SHAN to be ready for it. SHAN begs WAH and SHEK to help her go through this predicament. SHAN takes courage to speak out her intention to separate with WING but is tongue-tied and fails. In the police station, NAM, SHEK'S best friend, knows much about MAN and decides to chase after her.… ...

1x5 - Episode 5

February 5, 1999

SHEK finishes repairing SHAN'S music box but sees WAH has already given SHAN a new one. SHEK thinks there would be no further chance of developing with SHAN. However, after SHAN'S encouragement, SHEK pours out his heart to her. On one morning, MAN receives a bunch of roses and mistakenly thinks it is sent by SHEK who takes it for granted that MAN knows the flowers are sent by NAM. SHEK congratulates NAM. ROCKY has fought with a fierce dog and hurts its old wounds. YAN announces ROCKY can no longer be a police dog. SHEK and ROCKY are disappointed. YAN suggests to the owner of a seriously wounded dog to put it to sleep but LONG blames him as cold-blooded. YAN can do nothing but tries his best to save it. After operation, the dog is more painful than before. Seeing the pet dying in pain, LONG finally understands YAN and her own foolishness.

1x6 - Episode 6

February 8, 1999

ROCKY is adopted by SHEK which makes DUDU happy, but under restraint from LONG. LONG recommends YAN to SHAN as a prospective boyfriend but SHAN has already fallen in love with SHEK. After this, YAN discovers he is falling for LONG himself and reveals his heart to her but LONG declines. SHAN, succeeding in transferring to a new post as the production assistant, is neglected by other colleagues on her first day to work. She actively asks for work to do. Giving SHAN some draft papers, KEN, her boss, asks SHAN to type. SHAN has spent a night to finish it. Having read SHAN'S work, KEN gives her work to another colleague to do it again. SHAN feels ashamed.

1x7 - Episode 7

February 9, 1999

To please LONG, YAN has found a boyfriend, KAM, for DUDU. On the day of honeymoon, ROCKY has eloped with DUDU. Realizing they are a pair, LONG allows the two together. MAN mistakes SHEK has changed his working schedule trickily. The two are mad at each other. SHEK prepares a sailboat named SUSAN for SHAN on her birthday but SHAN is busy and cannot celebrate with him. This upsets SHEK. On the other hand, SHAN's colleagues celebrate with SHAN. Being the centre of attention, SHAN is very happy.

1x8 - Episode 8

February 10, 1999

There is a gap between SHAN and SHEK'S way of living. SHEK does not treasure the chance of getting a promotion while SHAN works hard for it. SHEK wants to improve and asks MAN to give him a chance to take the exam for promotion. However, knowing his poor English, SHEK asks LONG to teach him. On the other hand, YAN tries to change himself to suit LONG who pays no attention. SHEK has no hope for promotion since he is late for picking up a document for SHAN on the exam day. MAN feels sorry for SHEK. KEN gives SHAN a chance to work at Taiwan. SHAN feels regret because she has promised SHEK to go together to Japan. Upon knowing SHAN has given up travelling to Japan, SHEK is aware of his importance in SHAN'S heart. SHEK decides to separate with SHAN in order not to influence her career. At a bar, SHEK drinks heavily out of sorrow and even fools around with girls.… ...

February 11, 1999

SHEK captures a fierce robber with a grenade in a Jockey Club's betting center on his own. Everyone appreciates his bravery but only SHEK knows what has happened. LONG encourages SHEK to find SHAN. However, SHEK cannot contact SHAN due to all sorts of accidental mishaps MAN brings SHEK to Whimsy's to dispel boredom. However, SHEK takes care of her instead. SHAN moves out and LONG tries hard to persuade them to reunite. When SHAN and SHEK meet again, they have lost the feelings for each other. SHAN has bought SHEK a compass as a gift. Although LONG has bought the same kind of gift but seeing SHAN gives the same gift to SHEK, LONG hesitates as to when to reveal her heart to SHEK.

1x10 - Episode 10

February 12, 1999

WAH gives SHEK the tickets for the premiere but SHEK, thinking the movie is not MAN'S favorite, does not invite MAN. MAN, on the other hand, out of self-esteem, does not want to initiate the request. IRENE, KEN'S ex-girlfriend, vents her anger at KEN. SHAN is relieved after KEN'S explanation. YAN teases LONG because a man named WU chases her but she has fallen for someone already. CHUNG, longing for FONG'S wealth and beauty, begs NAM'S help to chase FONG. MAN writes a love letter to SHEK but NAM unexpectedly read it and mistakes her falling for him. MAN, however, beats up NAM, because he actively chases her. CHUNG succeeds in inducing FONG to fall into his trap.

1x11 - Episode 11

February 15, 1999

LONG, always harassed by a man named WU by phone, speaks out her true love but SHEK, unexpectedly, is on line. Although LONG denies what she said on the phone when SHEK questions her, SHEK is astonished to find the compass that LONG has bought as a gift to SHEK. LONG raises money for HOME FOR THE DISGRACED but NAM and CHUNG turn up their noses at it. SHEK disagrees with them and helps LONG. When the typhoon signal no.8 is hoisted and SHEK is on duty, LONG goes to the beach to fasten the sailboat but gets a fever.

1x12 - Episode 12

February 16, 1999

SHEK appreciates her and takes good care of her. SHEK can do nothing about LONG'S mood swing. YAN persuades SHEK to give her more time. LONG is touched for SHEK'S selling his beloved boat to raise money for LONG and she falls for SHEK. LONG has made a heart-shaped sushi for SHEK but YAN and JOE unexpectedly eats it up. LONG is angry.Others laugh at their engagement but the couple is sweet at heart.

1x13 - Episode 13

February 17, 1999

MAN discovers their harmonious relationship and mistakes SHEK has betrayed her. Then MAN vents her anger at NAM who does not give up chasing MAN. MAN cries when she realizes there is no hope for her to engage with SHEK but other colleagues tease at her. SHEK rebukes them and treats her as a good "brother" CHUNG and WAH fight each other for FONG. LONG thinks both are childishly in love but SHEK disagrees. LONG feels hard to mix with SHAN who is riding on the crest of success. On the other hand, SHAN arranges ROCKY and DUDU appearing on a TV advertisement and unexpectedly has taken an affectionate advertisement with SHEK. SHEK tells SHAN he is engaging with LONG. SHAN also reveals she is dating with KEN.

1x14 - Episode 14

February 18, 1999

SHEK'S sister, YI who is unemployed, reports to work at LONG'S clinic. YI starts to fall for YAN. On a barbecue party, SHEK and SHAN appear as a good pair. MAN helps suck blood for SHEK who has been bitten by a snake. Seeing them, LONG feels sad. FONG admires the ambition and the professional writing of WAH. CHUNG misunderstands and speaks ill of FONG to others. FONG reprimands CHUNG severely. SHAN hesitates to accept KEN'S proposal in marriage but she finally agrees after consideration. NAM mistakably has a fight with a man who only escorts MAN home. MAN threatens to transfer NAM who later seeks for help from SHEK. This, however, makes LONG misunderstand SHEK and SHAN more. SHAN persuades SHEK to pay more attention to LONG. Finally, SHEK and LONG clear up the misunderstanding.

1x15 - Episode 15

February 19, 1999

SHAN, KEN, LONG and SHEK go to take wedding pictures together. SHAN stares at the photo taken with SHEK and loses in her thinking. WAH, as a mediator, finally succeeds in placating CHUNG and FONG. MAN and NAM using pseudonyms on the Internet, coincidentally communicate and develop to have a date. NAM, however, knowing she is his net-friend, gives her a miss. SHAN'S brother, LUNG dates YI. Though YI bruises LUNG's eye, in no time, they are nice to each other again.

1x16 - Episode 16

February 22, 1999

SHAN still misses SHEK and proposes separation with KEN. In the studio, LONG and SHEK, watching the photos, call SHAN but she has not replied. KEN finds SHAN to ask the reason for their separation. On the other hand, seeing that SHAN is depressed, SHEK buys SHAN an ice cream. Unexpectedly, SHAN drops her wedding photo taken with SHEK. When SHAN goes back to the office, KEN is glad to have his partner back. LONG, thinking SHAN is in good mood, gives her a photo frame as wedding gift. SHAN puts her wedding photo taken with SHEK inside the photo frame and loses herself in deep thoughts.

1x17 - Episode 17

February 23, 1999

NAM, trying to date MAN at the net. MAN cannot accept him. NAM eventually gives up dating MAN. He then tries at almost every girl on the internet. In a bribery case, KEN is investigated and have SHAN involved into trouble. SHEK help SHAN's to relieve her boredom. SHAN thus wants to find out what is in SHEK's heart. On the other hand, YAN sees through SHAN is still hoping to be with SHEK but LONG who is not aware of it asks SHEK to help SHAN pick up her miscellaneous articles. Seeing the picture SHAN taken with SHEK, LONG is speechless. LONG tells SHEK that SHAN is still fixed on him. SHEK questions SHAN but SHAN denies which clears up LONG'S anxiety.

1x18 - Episode 18

February 24, 1999

MAN blames NAM who involves into trouble with a blonde girl again. LONG'S grandmother, MUI is knocked down by a container truck. The doctor certifies MUI has cataract and other diseases. Knowing MUI'S illness, SHAN recommends the best doctor and pay the fee for the operation of a cornea transplant. LONG decides to repay for SHAN'S kindness. CHUNG, seeing FONG fooling around with BIAO, persuades FONG but is rebuked by FONG. MAN meets the blond girl again on the street and accidentally finds out the true side of NAM which makes MAN thinks highly of NAM. In a pub, SHAN tells LONG that she will study abroad and finds a part-time job. KEN arrives and asks for the reason for separation, while LONG, in the alley, overhears SHAN speaking the truth in her heart.

1x20 - Episode 20

February 26, 1999

NAM escorts MAN to go home. When MAN is missing, NAM'S nervous reaction makes MAN realize she has found her real love. YAN is seriously falling for a lady named CHAN KI. LONG is happy for YAN. SHAN tries all her efforts to buy SHEK'S sailboat. After learning by chance from YAN and another girl that LONG has sacrificed herself for her, SHAN makes up her mind. At dawn of the following day, SHAN arranges SHEK meeting LONG and explains everything. ROCKY and DUDU also help. SHEK finally has his dream come true. SHEK sails out with LONG and SHAN. Upon completion of their mission, ROCKY and DUDU affectionately stays by each other's side.
