The sub plot is Mrs. Raven convincing Piers that he is going to be on ""This is Your Life"", and uses this to milk all sorts of 'goodies' out of smarmy Dr Piers.

She does so and picks up his (local) accent. Meanwhile, Mrs Raven asks for a better deal for the job she does, Piers decides to let her go instead.
