Fired off a soap opera and deemed unemployable by his agent, Simon relishes the opportunity for some time off and heads off to visit his favorite ex-wife, Kate. While she invites him to stay the weekend, Kate's wary that Simon hasn't matured a bit since their wild but tumultuous parting 20 years earlier. Though he quickly proves her right, it is exactly that impulsive and care-free spirit that allows Simon to endear himself to everyone he meets—even Kate's two children.
