22x1 - Planting Seeds

August 31, 1990

Everyone's planting seeds in the garden, but the birds are trying to eat everyone's seeds. Geoffrey reads a story called 'The Mouse And The Miller'. Bungle thinks singing will scare away the birds, but Zippy thinks making a windmill is a better idea. George makes a scarecrow of Zippy looking angry and it scares the birds away, but Geoffrey thinks if they give the birds some bird seeds in a pot it will stop the birds stealing their plant seeds.

22x2 - Friends

September 7, 1990

Two of Geoffrey's old friends, Terry Hall and Lenny the Lion visit the Rainbow house. Bungle and George are a little anxious about meeting a lion, but they soon discover that Lennie is a very friendly lion and they get along with their new friend very well. But Zippy gets jealous of Bungle, George and their new friends Lennie and Terry and thinks nobody wants to be friends with him anymore. Rod, Jane and Freddy sing "New Friends". Geoffrey goes to find Zippy to cheer him up and then Zippy joins the others where they all listen to Terry read a story called "Alby All Alone".

22x3 - The Wall

September 14, 1990

Geoffrey's busy building a wall, while Bungle builds a bridge out of building blocks. Zippy, George and Bungle act out the story of the 'Three Little Pigs' with Dawn playing the music and Geoffrey playing The Big Bad Wolf.

22x6 - Things Aren't Always What They Seem

Zippy, George, Bungle and Geoffrey are looking at distorting mirrors which makes them look different and they all laugh at how each other looks. They make Bungle look thin and Geoffrey look short which Zippy finds very amusing. Bungle thinks it was funny seeing Zippy with a great big head. Then everyone makes different shadows. An old lady visits Zippy, Bungle and George and brings them some presents, but they find out it's Geoffrey in disguise. They open all the gifts and Geoffrey reads a story called 'Things Aren't Always What They Seem'.

22x7 - How Does Your Garden Grow

October 12, 1990

Everyone's doing some gardening today and Bungle's watering some flowers, whilst Geoffrey and Dawn plant some flowers. Geoffrey shows everyone different types of seeds you can plant. Zippy, George and Zippy look at all the seeds they've planted. Zippy's hungry so dreams about cream cakes, but ends up eating too many. Everyone sings a song called "Little Bean Will Grow".

22x8 - Streets

October 19, 1990

Everyone's bored so Geoffrey tells them about some different things that they can see and do. George dreams he's a shop worker. Geoffrey and Bungle paint the window outside the Rainbow house. Geoffrey reads a story called 'The Street That Moaned and Groaned'.

22x9 - Kitchen Art

October 26, 1990

Geoffrey shows Zippy, George and Bungle how to make kitchen art. Everyone makes models from dough which include a snake and a mouse. Everyone makes different shapes from dough including a star, a dog, a rabbit and a duck. George feels itchy and thinks he has a flea on him, but it turns out to be feather. Whilst the models are cooking, Geoffrey plays a song on tape about a king who had a flea.

22x10 - Sports Day

November 2, 1990

Zippy, George and Bungle have a Sports day in the garden. They split in to two teams with Bungle, George and Jane on the blue team, and Zippy, Rod and Freddy on the red team. Rod, Jane and Freddy sing "Our Big Sports Day". Zippy and George have an egg and spoon race and then everyone plays Tug of War.

22x11 - Safari Park

November 9, 1990

Zippy, George and Bungle pretend they're going to a Safari park in their coach, with Bungle as their driver. Zippy, George and Bungle receive a letter from their friends Charlotte and Victoria, so Geoffrey tells them about the girl's visit to a Safari Park. Geoffrey, Zippy, Bungle and George talk about all the different animals that you find at a Safari Park such as deer and giraffes.

22x12 - Shops

November 16, 1990

Zippy, George and Bungle are bored as there's nothing to do. Geoffrey suggests playing a game of eye spy or doing a jigsaw puzzle, but they're fed up and want to do something else, so Geoffrey suggests a day out at the shops. Everyone gets ready to go out, but it starts raining, so they cant go. Geoffrey reads a story called 'Reggie The Pillar Box'. It's still raining so Geoffrey suggests that everyone can have a day in the shops inside. Zippy pretends to open up his own supermarket called Zippy's, Bungle pretends to have a charity shop called Bungles Charity Shop and George pretends to have a music shop selling tapes and records called Georges Mega Music Store. Geoffrey goes to each of their shops and buys things and then he pretends to open up a fast food shop. Zippy, George and Bungle want to buy some of his food, though Zippy wants lots of food as he's very hungry.

22x13 - Going Places

November 23, 1990

Geoffrey's late coming home from his holiday so whilst their waiting Zippy, George, Bungle and Dawn sing "Ride A Cock Horse". Zippy wants to pretend their going somewhere and George suggest the sea so everyone pretends to be going there by coach with Geoffrey as the driver. Then everyone pretends to be traveling by train, but Zippy doesn't know what way he wants to travel. Bungles pretends to travel in different ways such as riding a horse, a motorbike and a boat. Then everyone sings "Down By The Station".

22x14 - Why Did You Do That

November 30, 1990

Zippy, George and Bungle are a bit grumpy today. George knocks down Zippy's house of cards and Zippy messes up George's paper hat. Geoffrey reads a story called 'Zoe's Zoo'. Geoffrey accidently knocks down Zippy's house of cards, Zippy accidently throws a glass of water at Geoffrey and ruins his shirt and Geoffrey accidently squashes Bungle's model flat. Christopher comes in and Bungle accidently gets paint on Christopher's face. Christopher sings "Why Did You Do That? and cheers everyone up.

22x15 - Time

December 7, 1990

Zippy, George and Bungle don't feel like getting up, but go to eat breakfast. Geoffrey receives a parcel in the post and it's a cuckoo clock. He shows Zippy, George, Bungle how the cuckoo clock works and they also look at other clocks to see how they work, but then all the clocks go off together.

22x16 - New for Old

December 14, 1990

Zippy decides he doesn't want any old books anymore and only likes new things. Geoffrey finds an old toy theatre and John comes round and tells everyone about it. Zippy dreams about being in the theatre. John performs a puppet play for everyone. Then Zippy realizes old things can just be as good as new things.

22x17 - Chitter Chatter

December 21, 1990

Zippy, George and Bungle are making lots of noise so Geoffrey tells them all to be quiet. Zippy dreams about the phone, clock and Rainbow storybook coming to life. Geoffrey reads a story called 'Ichabod and the Birthday Cake' and then tells Zippy, George and Bungle about the play he's going to see called The School for Scandal. Zippy, George, Bungle and Geoffrey act out a play with Geoffrey as Sir Geoffrey Laugh-A-Lot, Bungle as Mr Fibber, George as Lady Chitter Chatter and Zippy as her husband.

22x18 - A Lazy Day

January 11, 1991

Everyone in the Rainbow house is having a lazy day, Bungle even refuses to get out of bed.

22x19 - Exercise is Fun

January 25, 1991

Bungle is doing lots of running in the garden as he wants to get fit, but Zippy and George are eating biscuits. Bungle ends up overdoing his running and gets very tired. Then everyone has lunch but Bungle only has a few peas on his plate and thinks he needs to go on a diet. Geoffrey convinces him to eat more food and wants Zippy and George not to eat too many sugary foods. ippy and George feel sick as they've eaten too much and Bungle's hungry. Bungle then does some more exercise, but struggles weightlifting. Geoffrey does some exercises such as weightlifting and press ups but struggles doing them. Bungle and Geoffrey play ball which makes Zippy and George tired. Then they have to join in their exercises.

22x20 - Playing the Game

22x21 - Who Done It

February 8, 1991

Geoffrey's going to write some letters, but can't find his pen. Zippy thinks he could be a good detective and George helps him look for the missing pen. They dress in different disguises and try to solve the case of the missing pen, starting by looking in the bedroom. Zippy and George want to borrow Geoffrey's magnifying glass to find the clues to solve the mystery of the missing pen. Zippy thinks Geoffrey took the pen so they look downstairs for it and they find it under the storybook. Geoffrey reads a story called 'Mr Snoozer's Parrot' Geoffrey's going to write his letters, but can't find his writing pad so it looks like another case for Detective Zippy, until Bungle finds it!

22x22 - Rain and Water

February 22, 1991

It's raining and Zippy, George and Bungle are singing songs about the rain. Geoffrey talks about rain and how you must not waste water. Zippy, George and Bungle put objects into a tray of water and Bungle's rubber duck and Geoffrey's boat float, but George's lump of plasticine sinks. Then Zippy asks Geoffrey to make a man for the boat, but it sinks. Geoffrey reads a story called 'Bessie Bundle's Sinking Feeling'.

22x24 - Shaping Up

March 8, 1991

Dawn's making a jumper for Geoffrey whilst George is cutting out different shapes to make a mobile. Bungle draws around everyone's hands and Zippy's curious to why, but it's a surprise. Everyone sings "Shapes Around". Zippy and George have to guess what objects wrapped up in fabric. Bungle shows everyone what's he's made from drawing around everyone's hands.
