1x1 - Episode 1

December 27, 2004

Senior Inspector of the Regional Crime Unit LAM TSI CHUNG is a young, outstanding member of the Police. He is so committed to his job that he never cares about his subordinates’ feelings. He does not believe in love but is most interested in one-night-stands. MO CHUN, a decent character in the Chinese masterpiece “Water Margin”, is always a hero in the eyes of Police Constable HA CHUN YAM. Under the influence of MO CHUN, YAM has always had a feeling of disgust for loose or sexy-looking women. Among those recommended by Superintendent CHUI WAI SUM, FAI MAN BUN, a very brilliant cadet, is chosen as CHUNG’s assistant while YAM is assigned to assist Senior Inspector K Y WONG. MAN FUNG LIN, the owner of Leung-Shan-Pok Pub, gets harassed because of her sexy outfit, during which YAM passes by and offers to get her out of the predicament. YAM points out that it is the way LIN dresses that has caused her trouble, with which LIN does not agree.… ...

YAM falls over and goes into a coma, during which he has a dream that he, being the MO CHUN of 900 years ago, is making an engagement with his blood mother LAM CHUNG on the Naihe Bridge so that they can meet again and complete their mission in the next life. K Y WONG needs YAM to infiltrate into PO’s gang and, for this reason, has arranged a series of training sessions for the lad. YAM realizes that he has changed a lot since he awoke from the coma. He keeps claiming that he is the reincarnated MO CHUN, which is just a big joke to K Y WONG. YAM goes to rent a rooftop as his new accommodation, during which he gets to know LIN’s mother MAN LAI BING. To facilitate money laundering, PO has set up the new Hero Restaurant. PO’s mistress SISTER JANET, along with his assistants DAREDEVIL and the YIK Brothers, KWAN and TSUN, has helped with the grand opening of the restaurant.… ...

YAM discovers that CHUNG has made up a pack of lies about his fight with the robbers so that he can claim greater credit for himself. YAM is disgusted with CHUNG’s behavior while CHUNG has also developed a strong dislike for YAM ever since then. YAM has successfully infiltrated into PO’s gang. CHUNG is chosen as the “Star of the Police” and even has an interview with LIN who works as a part-time DJ. SIMON has come to hassle LIN again and the whole scene is recorded by journalists. Articles on the affair between LIN and SIMON soon appear on all local papers, which infuriates BING immensely. LIN has lived with BING since she was a baby. BING is her only family but they have never been on good terms. CHUNG who is deeply attracted to LIN mistakenly believes that the girl has not only slept with him but also stolen his antique watch. BLACK PANTHER, the gang supervisor in charge of Causeway Bay, has passed away.… ...

DAREDEVIL suffers an epileptic fit whilst being questioned by CHUNG. Luckily YAM manages to save his life in the nick of time. Feeling that YAM has once again embarrassed him, CHUNG just hates him more and more. CHUNG keeps contacting LIN hoping to get back the watch. LIN, on the other hand, believes that he is only trying to make an excuse to approach her, which annoys her no end. YAM has got a stronger feeling that he is the reincarnated MO CHUN. During the lucky draw session held at LIN’s pub, YAM has more than twice drawn the MO CHUN card, which has further convinced him of the relationship between him and MO CHUN. YAM believes that LAM CHUNG is reincarnated too and he is so desperate to meet him again. DAREDEVIL brings YAM and LOK to a nightclub. There YAM happens to meet his old classmate HONG CHI SIN again, who has come to find her stepbrother LOK.… ...

PO has successfully reclaimed control over KEI, KWUN and FAN. With his help, KWAN has become the person-in-charge of Causeway Bay. SIN has been looking out for LOK in every possible way but LOK does not seem to be grateful. To avoid her, LOK even asks to put up at YAM’s home. SIN and her mother TANG YUK CHU are queuing in a bank, during which an armed robber bursts in suddenly. SIN has accidentally picked up the hand grenade left by the robber. CHUNG manages to save her life by grabbing the grenade from her hand. SIN is grateful for his help and has had a very good impression of him ever since then. SIN brings CHU to see her father HONG FUK TAI, who has divorced CHU since years ago. TAI’s sister FUN is surprisingly disgusted to see CHU. On SIN’s first day as a registered Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner, CHUNG suddenly pops up.… ...

YAM has tried every possible way to get CHUNG to remember the past, which annoys CHUNG immensely. K Y WONG knows it is no good for YAM to pester CHUNG in this way. He orders YAM to cease the operation but YAM promises that he will try to control himself. Some patients do not have confidence in the rather inexperienced SIN, which is a huge disappointment to her. CHUNG offers to teach her some skills in dealing with patients, which is found to be work well. LIN goes to visit BING who has recently injured herself. The two of them, however, end up bickering over trivia again. WING is so devastated by her break-up with HING that she has decided to take her life. LIN tries to give her a few words of comfort but in vain. HING keeps pestering LIN but CHUNG manages to drive him away. Believing that LIN has meant to seduce HING, YAM is more steadfast in his opinion that she is a real slut.… ...

January 4, 2005

HING has injured his head and does not seem to be in his right mind. LIN invites CHUNG home for a chat. CHUNG suspects that she is going to seduce him but he soon finds out it is not that kind of thing. PO’s illegal football gambling business has been doing well. He is so happy that he decides to invite all his staff to a celebration party. PO tries to show off his kung-fu skills to his assistants but ends up breaking his elbow, which later causes uncontrollable tremors in his hands. PO suspects that he is suffering from Parkinson’s disease and it comes as a real blow to him. CHUNG is going to arrest PO but since BUN has got the wrong information, only KEI is caught eventually. In fact it is PO who has revealed the wrong information to the Police. He did so because he wanted to reduce KEI’s power. CHUNG has successfully arrested KEI, which has earned him a lot of praise.… ...

TAI’s patients criticize him for having no medical qualifications, which upsets him a little. KEI is facing criminal charges and need to report to the police station every day. KEI claims that he will seek revenge on TAI. TAI’s patients have all gone to consult SIN, leaving TAI alone in a corner. To keep his reputation up, TAI has decided to take the registration examination. CHUNG comes to see TAI, who is busy preparing for the examination. To make it up to CHUNG, SIN offers to give him treatment, thinking that this is a real chance to approach him. PO is said to have stolen something from a department store. Knowing that he is innocent, LIN is not afraid to stand up for him. PO is therefore very grateful to her. JANET is looking for a spokeswoman for the healthy food registered in her name and PO immediately recommends LIN to her.… ...

YAM seems very fond of CHUNG, which has caused a great nuisance to CHUNG. PO has become more and more worried about his health. Feeling that he can no longer concentrate on his business, PO has delegated responsibility to KWAN. PO has been hiding the truth about his health. Some magazines have reported that JANET has an unusually close relationship with a local gang, which makes her so angry. She is going to take revenge but is stopped by PO. This has made her very unhappy. LIN has again got involved in a sex scandal. BING finds it totally unbearable and goes to ask for an explanation immediately. LIN tries to explain the truth to her but in vain. The two have got into a serious quarrel again. LIN feels so frustrated by her relationship with BING. SIN offers to comfort her and manages to bring about reconciliation between LIN and BING.… ...

CHUNG gets injured when he is fighting with the hitman. Strangely, the wound he has just got looks exactly the same as YAM’s, which has further convinced YAM that the CHUNG in front of him is the reincarnated LAM CHUNG. PO has been stressed out since the assassination. He refuses to go out and locks himself in the house all day long. LIN reveals to the press that JANET’s food products can cause harm to humans. Feeling betrayed, JANET claims that she will seek revenge no matter what. CHUNG’s description of the hitman is more or less the same YAM’s. CHUNG’s subordinates say that they seem to be to able to speak to each other’s heart, which irks CHUNG somewhat. As instructed, LOK has come to LIN’s pub to make trouble, in the course of which CHUNG appears and manages to settle the dispute. Having seen LIN and CHUNG together, SIN comes to realize they have known each other for quite some time.… ...

With YAM’s persistence, CHUNG can finally get his memories back. KEI is accused of engaging in illegal football gambling activities and is thrown to jail later. PO appreciates YAM’s personality and is going to entrust all his business to the lad, which makes KWAN incredibly jealous. Although KWAN has already taken up the management of the districts which previously fell within BLACK PANTHER’s purview, he is not at all satisfied with what he has. He has not only tried to sow discord among KEI, FAN and PO but also tricks PO into believing that KWUN has been plotting to take his life. YAM will keep K Y WONG informed of how PO is getting on and their meetings often turn out to be full of jokes. CHUNG brings PO to see SIN, who, after a thorough examination, she points out that he is in fact suffering from panic disorder and that it is his elbow injury that has affected his hand and arm.… ...

YAM gets teased by LIN over and over again but for the sake of work, he just has to put up with her. To find out if YAM is really in love with SIN, LIN means to throw SIN’s earring into a pond. Not wanting to let SIN down, YAM just jumps into the pond to look for the earring. CHU is deep in debt. To avoid her creditors, she cannot even go home. CHU claims that her flat is under renovation and asks to put up at SIN’s home. But this proves to be a lie later when the creditors come along. TAI still cares about CHU. To help her out of her problem, TAI even plans to mortgage his property. CHUNG has changed a bit since he reclaimed his memories. Felling so perplexed, CHUNG has gone to see a psychiatrist. YAM expresses his love for SIN but is rejected, which has upset him badly. CHU happens to get some drugs from her friend MAY.… ...

YAM gets hurt while protecting LIN. He ignores his injuries and sends LIN to the hospital as quickly as he can. BING and LOK have suddenly disappeared. CHUNG asks YAM about their whereabouts but YAM says he has got no clue. CHUNG does not believe him, though. BING keeps playing the song that she and PO love the most, which suggests to LIN that she has not yet forgotten about him. KWAN points out that YAM and LOK have been very close over these days. Believing that they have ganged up against him, KWAN decides to pursue LOK and to spy on YAM simultaneously. KWAN is in no way stupid. He gets his assistants to do it for him so that PO will not have a clue that he has been engaged in drug trafficking. LIN reveals to JANET her true relationship with PO, hoping that this will drive her off. JANET, though very unhappy, pretends to be on good terms with LIN.… ...

YAM is arrested and K Y WONG pressures SUM to release him. LOK and CHU plan to escape. Before they leave, CHU calls SIN up to say goodbye. CHUNG blames SIN for not having tried to hold the phone conversation and allow him the chance to trace the call. SIN not only manages to keep her temper but also gives CHUNG a few words of comfort and encouragement. PO tries to look out for LIN in every possible way, which makes JANET extremely jealous. PO is surprised to discover that someone has been making deals with KUPCHAI in his name. He therefore orders KWAN and TSUN to carry out a full investigation. In order to take part in the gang business, YAM means to please LIN so that he may gain PO’s trust. YAM has changed his attitude towards LIN, which makes her very happy. By stratagem, YAM and LIN manage to bring reconciliation between PO and BING. PO asks YAM to investigate whether LOK has stolen the drugs.… ...

YAM has risked his life to save CHUNG, which has helped CHUNG get all his memories back. CHUNG comes to believe that YAM was his soul mate in the previous life. Having noticed how K Y WONG has tried to defend YAM, CHUNG gets a little suspicious about YAM’s real identity. TSUN makes a drug deal in secret but is discovered by PO. To prove his innocence, KWAN offers to hand TSUN over to PO. But PO is so generous that he decides to let him off. LOK and CHU are being protected by the Police. Both of them have agreed to testify against TSUN. KWAN keeps picking on YAM, in the hope that this will destroy PO’s confidence in him. YAM admits to PO that he is in love with LIN, and PO has since allowed him to take part in the gang business. CHUNG seems to have become a completely different person since he gained back all his memories. He has never been this friendly towards his subordinates.… ...

As soon as YAM has got the password, CHUNG comes along. CHUNG manages to conceal YAM’s real identity as an undercover police officer but is later accused of trespassing on private property. As a sort of punishment, CHUNG is assigned to deal with the most trivial cases. PO has introduced a more advanced computer security system. PO and JANET hold a wedding banquet for themselves. To seek revenge, LIN gets all dressed up for the banquet, managing to get all the attention. This has made JANET incredibly jealous. YAM tries to console LIN and takes her for a walk, during which he discovers that he has developed a special affection for her. LOK has disappeared without a trace. SIN is so worried about him and turns to CHUNG for help. CHUNG has successfully located LOK. As a token of thanks, SIN has prepared a meal for CHUNG. LIN expresses her love for YAM during her radio programme.… ...

KWAN has come up with some evidence to prove that YAM is an undercover police officer. He tries to make YAM reveal the truth by threatening to kill CHUNG. YAM has no choice but to tell the truth. Now that his identity is revealed, his mission has proved to be a total failure. PO feels so disappointed in YAM. Feeling cheated, LIN has lost her confidence in YAM and is resolved to separate from him. YAM resumes his role as a police officer while CHUNG is suspended from work for having breached the Code of Practice. YAM apologizes to LIN for deceiving her but LIN refuses to forgive him. LIN is devastated by her break-up with YAM, so SIN offers to accompany her and gives her a few words of comfort. KWAN tries to persuade LOK not to testify against TSUN by giving him some rewards. Being so desperate for promotion, LOK agrees to his request. PO shows no more interest in his business and entrusts everything to KWAN.… ...

Having been informed that KUPCHAI will make a deal with KWAN in Hong Kong, K Y WONG has hatched a plan to arrest him. CHUNG who is in financial difficulty has to sell his car and property. YAM sympathizes with him and offers to put him up. SIN is so frustrated by her relationship with CHUNG. To show his support, YAM offers to accompany her whenever time allows. LIN is upset that she cannot go any further with YAM. To help herself get over YAM, LIN decides to spend all her time on work, which is supported by CHUNG. Upon KUPCHAI’s arrival in Hong Kong, PO seriously reminds KWAN not to mess with the Thai drug dealer who is being pursued by the International Criminal Police Organisation. KWAN does not listen to him and continues his secret deals with KUPCHAI. PO rarely goes out in public and stays with the pregnant JANET for most of the time.… ...

PO asks KWAN if he has been carrying on an affair with JANET and KWAN confesses. KWAN is about to kill PO but changes his mind within just a few seconds. He decides to keep PO’s life so that he can make use of him and get him to initiate contact with the munitions dealer LIN MAU LAM. Having lost everything, PO is so hopeless and tries to take his life by jumping in the sea. PO is rescued and later diagnosed as having panic disorder. KWAN does not believe it and even starts to spy on him. YAM has been seeing SIN on and off although they know they are not the one for each other. KWAN forces PO to meet LAM. During their meeting, FAN appears suddenly and even requests to join the deal. As FAN is about to conclude the deal, KWAN gets aware that K Y WONG is already ready to arrest them. KWAN sets a trap for K Y WONG but, with the help of the information supplied by CHUNG, the Senior Inspector has turned out fine.… ...

YAM believes that CHUNG has something to hide but CHUNG denies it. After a secret meeting with CHUNG, PO pretends to be mad and picks a quarrel with KWAN. CHUNG suddenly proposes to LIN. Although she is still waiting for YAM to change his mind, she accepts CHUNG’s proposal of marriage, only in an attempt to make YAM jealous. BING moves to PO’s house so that she can look after him full-time. In order to wipe KWAN out, PO offers to supply CHUNG with information. Knowing that KWAN is going to make a deal with KUPCHAI, CHUNG hurries to their meeting place to stop them. KWAN runs into CHUNG while he is making his escape. CHUNG is going to kill KWAN who is claimed to have a clear intention to attack him. But YAM manages to stop CHUNG in the nick of time. FAN is arrested. All the munitions have to be confiscated, which has angered LAM and KUPCHAI.… ...

To secure and maintain support from his subordinates, KWAN has handed over the disco to LOK, which gives LOK a great thrill. SIN has been having doubts about her relationship with YAM. She cannot afford to waste any more time and has finally decided to break up with him. LIN knows she does not really look forward to marrying CHUNG. To make it fair to all, LIN asks to cancel the wedding. YAM has discovered a photo of CHUNG and PO which was taken a long time ago. He is shocked to learn that they have known each other for so many years and decides to probe further. All these years CHUNG has been working for PO, who in return sends him money through investments. PO goes to meet CHUNG, in the course of which YAM comes along. PO tries to escape as soon as he notices YAM. YAM flies off to catch him but is stopped by CHUNG. YAM asks CHUNG about his relationship with PO while CHUNG blames him for stealing his girlfriend.… ...

LIN is leaving Hong Kong, which is supported by BING. Not knowing that CHUNG is working for KWAN, PO continues to supply him with information about KWAN. YAM does not want to see LIN go but lacks the courage to tell her so. Realizing that LIN is still in love with YAM, SIN seeks to provide the pair with some good opportunities to spend time together. KWAN sets a trap for YAM by tricking him into believing that PO and LAM are going to have a negotiation. KWAN tries to make YAM a scapegoat after killing LAM. CHUNG points out that YAM, in collaboration with PO, has killed LAM. YAM tries to explain the truth but in vain and is suspended from work with immediate effect. KWAN finds out that PO has been pretending to be mad. He reveals to PO that CHUNG has joined him as his sidekick, which shocks PO to the core. Believing that PO can longer pose a threat to him, KWAN decides to let him off. YAM runs into CHUNG at LIN’s pub.… ...

1x24 - Episode 24

LIN shows great concern for YAM but YAM is not at all grateful. LOK has offended TSUN and is being pursued by TSUN’s assistants. He has nowhere to go but to SIN. On their way to meet LOK, SIN and CHUNG get attacked by KWAN. KWAN reveals to SIN that CHUNG has been working for him all these days, which disappoints her greatly. To win KWAN’s trust, CHUNG has no choice but to kill SIN, as instructed by KWAN. CHUNG goes to see LIN at the pub in order to investigate SIN’s disappearance, as if he has nothing to do with the matter. YAM falls out with CHUNG again as soon as he catches sight of him. KWAN kidnaps LIN and forces CHUNG to rob the munitions warehouse by threatening to kill her. To keep his reputation clean, CHUNG suggests leaving the job to YAM, which is agreed by KWAN. For LIN’s safety, YAM takes all the blame and claims to have been working for KWAN for quite some time, which lets LIN down so badly.… ...

1x25 - Episode 25

KWAN finds out that there is something wrong with the munitions. Suddenly, CHUNG takes out a pistol and points it at KWAN. Knowing that it is in fact a trap set by CHUNG, KWAN gets to flee at once and CHUNG, together with the police officers, runs after him without hesitation. A horrible gunfight has then started. KWAN and KUPCHAI are both arrested. YAM asks KWAN about LIN’s whereabouts and KWAN says that he has kept her in a secret place and that the bomb around her waist is about to blow up. YAM manages to save LIN just before the bomb explodes. YAM and CHUNG go to visit LIN at the hospital. LIN is surprised to see them together and the guys reveal the truth to her right away. CHUNG explains that he pretended to fall out with YAM and purported to have killed SIN, which was only for the purpose of winning KWAN’s trust. This is all a plot to catch KWAN and the truth is finally out.… ...
