Greg understandably doesn't want his brother involved in his romantic life and refuses to divulge any information about her, which sends Maxey straight to a private detective. When the detective finds that Greg's girlfriend is the wife of a convict, Maxey confronts Greg with the news, who, in turn, gets furious with his brother for interfering. When the newly released convict comes looking for Greg, Maxey, feeling bad about what he's done, lets the convict think he's Greg and takes the bruising intended for his brother.
