1x1 - Episode 1

January 27, 2003

In the 13 year reign of YONGZHENG, wars and natural disasters were everywhere. There were flooding in the Yellow River, wars in Northwest regions in additional to Uncle Eight‘s conspiracy…Luckily, Emperor YONGZHENG used his cleverness to solve the crises. YONG by chance sees that LUI SAI LEUNG is forced to be a whore. YONG shows his righteous and saves her from danger. LEUNG thus follows him. However, while the anti-Ching members are going to assassinate YONG, LEUNG also takes out her sword to assassinate him. At this moment, a storm suddenly comes and the twister blows the two up to the sky…In the year 2002, at the Hong Kong Shenzhen Highway, YONG and LEUNG fall down from the sky and have been sent to the hospital. LEUNG beats the nurse into faintness after she woke up. She is later subdued by the coach, HUENG YEUNG and the other members of the Guangdong Martial Art Team……

LEUNG says she is LUI SAI LEUNG, YEUNG gives her a satirical remark but asks her to stay in the martial art team. Actually, YEUNG reckons that LEUNG is suffering from psychosis. YONG is helping out in FEI’s noodle shop. YONG generously helps the rich lady, OI , and her colleague, MING, to dispel the gangster and gets back their mobile phones. OI thanks him with gratitude. YEUNG’s martial art team comes to Hong Kong for performance, FEI’s son-in-law, KING, takes YONG to see the performance. YONG is happy to see LEUNG on the stage, but LEUNG immediately takes out her sword and runs into the audience. YONG and the audience run away in fright. YEUNG scolds LEUNG for her screw up. LEUNG is angry and goes away. YONG is unpleased that as an emperor, he has to do the laundry, washes the toilet and writes the gift certificates for others. LEUNG asks a man about where the motel is; but the man thinks she is the whore from the Mainland……

HA (i.e. YONG) goes to “SiuHong Building Materials Co Ltd”, but rejected by the Personnel Manager, TINA. HA, has an opportunity to edit a speech for the big boss, HONG. HONG recommends him to be his office assistant. TINA is displeased. OI blames her elder brother, CHUNG, for mistakenly pulled off the core wall of showroom, but CHUNG shifts the responsibility to OI. On HA’s first day work, he doesn’t know how to refill the distilled water. OI thinks he’s funny. LEUNG performs in the street, and is embarrassed when she sees LAI. LAI is shocked when he picks up the picture of YONG. LEUNG questions and follows him to the showroom. HONG’s first wife, DI and second wife, FUN, are arguing in the conference room for putting a contemporary abstract painting or a Chinese landscape one. LEUNG is hungry and wants to take the food while she is waiting for LAI, but the third wife, FANG treats her as a smuggler and gives her two hundred dollars……

January 30, 2003

At the grand opening of the showroom, FUN grasps LAI to the reporters for photos and interviews. When DI sees that, she immediately asks CHUNG and TINA to steal the scene which makes FUN angry. LEUNG is happy to see LAI again, but when she knows HA has just left, she immediately chases after him. When HONG arrives, WAI comes out and begs him to justify for him. However, WAI has carelessly hurt HONG. LEUNG, who has just gone down the stairs, runs to HONG to rescue him. After LEUNG has subdued WAI, she suddenly sees HA is at the opposite side of the road, so she immediately runs after him. Suddenly, a stone hits her head and turns her into unconscious. So, HA takes her on his back and goes home. HA lies that LEUNG is his neighbor so that FEI accepts LEUNG to live temporarily with her daughter, CHU. When LEUNG wakes up, she finds that her hands have been tied up and her voice becomes cracked……

January 31, 2003

HA has overheard that CHUNG and the lawyer, Mr MA are discussing about the takeover of Hin Tat Building. After that, HA tells HONG a story about the flank beef, and HONG gets something in his mind. HONG orders CHUNG to rent out Hin Tat Building after renovations, but CHUNG doesn’t understand why. CHU reckons LEUNG is expecting a baby, but LEUNG, who knows how to read from the lips, says CHU is saying nonsense. HONG is satisfied to know that there are only three flats of Hin Tat Building haven’t sold yet. HA makes use of LEUNG’s lip reading skill to find out that the three flats are actually owned by CHUNG. HA thinks LAI has potential so he decides to tell him the big secret. OI finds out the problems of the new kitchen cabinets which her elder brother HAU has bought. TINA thinks it’s the chance for CHUNG to show off himself……

LEUNG and LAI go to the hospital for visiting HONG, LAI goes upstairs with LEUNG, which makes him sweat and breathless. When HONG sees LEUNG, he immediately says he wants to thank LEUNG with reward. LEUNG says that she wants to go back to the Martial Art Team. LEUNG goes back to the team, but as YEUNG knows that she has already lost her kungfu skills, he refuses her to come back. At last, HONG hires her as his bodyguard. HAU gets the wrong document by mistake, and so he discovers the evidence about CHUNG holding the flats of Hin Tat Building. HAU tells HONG about this and HONG scolds CHUNG. This makes CHUNG in charge no more for the Property Development Department. LAI invites HA to be his assistant. LEUNG dresses like a Chinese doll, HONG is surprised. When LEUNG takes the lift, she feels dizzy immediately. To cope with the fright, she sings classic Chinese songs all along, but this scares HONG……

The big sale received great response. But HONG only shows his acclaim to LAI, which makes OI disappointed. OI discovers Mrs CHOW’s luxurious crystal door hangle has gone missing. HA says he know how to find it back. FEI’s son, ON, takes HA and the others to YING’s place to get back the bangle. YING wants to sell it in eighty thousand dollars, but HA manages to take it back without spending the money. Both Dragon Property Development and Pioneer Construction Ltd are building service apartments. HONG wants them to think about the tactics. HA notices KING is reading the comic “The Storm”, which gives him some light. LAI suggests that they can cooperate with Dragon Property in order to fight against Pioneer. HONG agrees with him as he also thinks this way. MARCO, the representative of Dragon Property, discusses the details with HONG. OI recognizes MARCO is her old classmate……

OI helps LEUNG to dress up. LEUNG at last turns to be a beauty in the banquet. In the study room, HONG scolds at OI that she is flirting MARCO, which makes the public think this is the reason why Dragon Property will join the project. However OI insists she didn’t make use of her beauty. MARCO explains the situation to HONG. HONG finally realizes the truth. OI cries alone in the garden. HA says there’s a bug between she and HONG, which is related to SHUN. OI thinks HA is nosy. HA discovers a type of polyester mimic stone counterfeit from the Mainland that is cheap but with high quality. He thinks this is LAI’s key for success. On the meeting, LAI presents the advantages of the Mainland mimic stones, HONG agrees to give him two weeks to test the market. CHUNG and the others have to think of the tactics immediately. HA checks out CHUNG’s conspiracy, and tells LAI how to deal with it. LEUNG gets a cold and HA cooks her some hot lemon coke……

HONG is satisfied with the sale of the mimic stones, but he doubts at the sales report of the first week. HONG announces that LAI is promoted to Sales and Retail Marketing Manager, HA as Assistant Sales Manager while CHUNG is transferred to Operation Department. CHUNG is displeased. LAI and the others work very hard to persuade Mr CHEUNG, who will be their first client to buy the mimic stones. At last CHEUNG signs the contract, but he claims that he has to see all the goods on time. LEUNG feels strange because everyone is pointing to her. She is so shocked to have seen that the magazine said she is the fourth wife. TINA reckons LAI is using the beauty trick in order to get the power. Therefore, they plan to get rid of HA and LEUNG. LEUNG asks HA for helping her to clarify the scandal, but HA doesn’t pay attention at all. LAI is willing to pretend to be LEUNG ‘s boyfriend. LEUNG is very happy at that……

While in Shenzhen, WA forces KING to go karaoke with him. WA even puts the pills in KING’s glass of wine. Next day, when KING wakes up, he discovers he has been unfaithful to CHU. KING hurries to the storage to check the goods, but WA tells him he has already checked most of the goods. WA loses his concentration after he has come back from Shenzhen. HA thinks there is something wrong, so he and WA go to the storage to check the stock again. They find out 90% of the goods are of bad quality. KING doesn’t want to bring trouble to LAI, so he decides to resign. But HA blames him for his impetus. CHU slaps at KING when she discovers KING had called a prostitute. HA suspects WA because he puts lots of money on horse gambling. However, WA has already fired by HAU. CHU asks KING to leave the home, HA and the others are helpless. CHEUNG wants to purchase other agents to buy foreign goods……

LEUNG escorts HONG and FONG to worship SHUN. HONG says it is OI who makes SHUN died. HA gets a CD by chance, and sees all of the news clippings and pictures of HONG, suddenly HA has an idea. At the beach where SHUN has died, OI burns the diary and tells SHUN only the good news. HONG and FONG cries when they see that. HONG finally forgives her. Some magazines say LEUNG got advantages with both HONG and LAI. LAI is very angry. TINA notices that HONG has changed his attitude towards OI, and has good reputation towards HA and LEUNG. Thus, TINA thinks she needs to do something. FUN has great response when she hears that LAI has a crush at LEUNG. OI has thought of the interior design of the service apartment, but HAU says he has already hired the famous designer, KENNETH to in charge. So HONG asks them to work together. HA inspires OI about the idea, OI really gets some light about it……

HA worries that LAI will sacrifice others for his own success, like the cunning Uncle Eight. He tests LAI and finds that LAI is actually foxy. HA notices OI is very nervous of her first debut presentation, so HA gives her an amulet. OI feels better at once. Though OI’s design has been rejected, KENNETH admires her concept. OI returns the amulet to HA and when she knows the story of the amulet, she thanks HA very much. LEUNG finds HA attractive because he is showing his charisma while discussing with HONG. CHU knows that LEUNG is puzzling on whether choosing HA or LAI, she encourages her to choose LAI. TINA thinks the success of LAI is because of HA, so she asks CHUNG should get HA in his team. TINA tempts HA to help her, but HA rejects. HAU suggests property developing in the Mainland and capital raising. HONG is pleased at his idea, but LAI is jealous……

LAI suggests HONG to take over Prosperous Marble Factory, because he thinks it is beneficial for the company listing plan. HONG promises to take some thought about it. After seeing the martial art competition with LAI; LEUNG pretends to be not hungry in order to act like a lady. CHU says her new born daughter has to use her surname, but HA tells her that this will affect the healthy development of the child. CHU at last compromises but she insists the divorce. HA questions LAI about the takeover, but LAI says this is the highest confidential information of the company. HA realizes that LAI no longer trust him. HA and OI discovers there is something wrong about the insurance of Prosperous. OI wants to give LAI some advice, but LAI on contrary says HA is making use of her. HONG and the others pay a visit to factory in Mainland China. However, they think the price is too expensive. HA knows this is HONG’s strategy……

LEUNG wants to mediate the dispute between HA and LAI, but unsuccessful. However, LEUNG feels strange because LAI doesn’t unhappy about that. LAI says this is because of her. LEUNG is puzzled. OI asks MARCO to recommend HA to work at Sky Dragon. But HA suddenly comes, and OI is embarrassed. HONG is surprised when he sees HAU and WA are having conflicts. LEUNG makes use of her lip reading skills to know their conspiracy. HONG is disappointed to HAU. HONG meets HA privately to analyze the strength and weakness of the three sons. HA says the idea of only sons can succeed to an estate is old fashioned. HA thinks that only OI is the one who will make the company prosperous. Everyone is shocked that HONG has appointed HA and OI to be the Assistant Manager of the Property Development Department. Everyone is surprised that CHU has been sacked off; LEUNG voluntarily adds the rental fee to CHU. CHU thanks her a lot……

LEUNG makes fun of HA that he is reading romance fictions in order to learn how to pursue OI. HA wants LEUNG to teach him the right method to date OI. KENNETH recommends OI to design the renovation of the Golden Club, OI is surprised. LEUNG helps HA to cook an ancient Chinese banquet, but HA is picky and at last hurt by the heat. LEUNG is worried. When OI sees the meals all over the table, she is so moved and kisses HA. LEUNG feels bitterness when seeing the scene. KING is arrested because of keeping the drugs. KING says he is innocent, but CHU and the others do not believe him. OI thinks of a design which combines both Chinese and western culture. Mr TANG, the Manager of Golden Club is satisfied about the design. KENNETH also recommends OI the sole agent for the marbles. OI thanks him a lot. TANG scolds at OI because OI is using the counterfeit marbles. OI is shocked. HA and OI go to find KENNETH. But KENNETH only says sorry to them……

LAI begs HA and OI to keep in secret regarding the HAU’s video. However, OI is hesitated. LEUNG resigns and joins “Po Kee” when she knows there is vacancy. A muscle man called LAM WAI MO comes to “Po Kee” to find KING, everyone thinks that KING must have stirred up trouble again. However, MO actually comes to thinks KING for rescuing his cousin, GIGI. CHU immediately becomes uptight when she hears GIGI has to marry to KING. OI walks home with MING, who has already drunk. MING takes this opportunity to declare his love, but scares OI. HA and the others have a lunch appointment with TONG, the Director of Wan Tat Development. They have discussed the joint venture regarding property development in the Mainland. HA has mixed feelings when he sees his candle stand in the curiosity shop. An old man asks HA to give up the candle stand, but HA rejects and realizes the old man is TONG……

HONG interrogates HAU. HAU finally speaks out how LAI has threatened him and how they have put OI into the trouble. LAI pretends to feel guilty; HONG then expels him out of the office. HONG honestly tells HA that he is difficult to accept HAU’s sexuality. HA comforts him. LAI swears that he has to go back to “Siu Hong” and becomes the President. LAI tells CHUN the plans. LAI persuades MING to join him so as to fight against OI and HA. MING agrees. ICAC comes and says OI and HA have committed bribery. However, they at last found not guilty. While LAI is questioning MING, HONG comes and says he is going to separate the father and son relationship with LAI. HA takes LEUNG to visit the show flats, LEUNG thinks that he wants to have an affair. OI suddenly comes and slaps his face. LEUNG deliberately escapes from HA, and blames him that he has hurt others in exchange for his own happiness. OI is injured in the Mainland……

LAI and CHUN claim they hold 33% of “Siu Hong”’s share. Therefore, the President has to be acted by LAI. HA and the others are all provoked. HA suspects LAI has other tricks rather than only using “Wan Tat” to strike against “Siu Hong”. So HA and OI, together with HONG, go to “Wan Tat” to find TONG. However, their visit has been rejected. However, HA has a plan on how to make TONG to take the initiative to find him. HA and the others tell TONG about the disadvantages of letting LAI becoming the President. However, TONG doesn’t change his mind. When LAI and CHUN are doing an interview with the press, HONG suddenly comes out and says he will be the President again. LAI and CHUN are shocked. LAI goes to “Sai Po” to find LEUNG. He meets YEUNG and the Teaching Assistant, HUNG. He and HUNG have an argument which turns to be a fight……

HA is happy to see LEUNG coming to his home to cook the late meal for him. They drink together and LEUNG later takes HA, who has already drunk, to the bed. He suddenly asks LEUNG to stay with him overnight. LAI makes a dodge so that LEUNG tells out the truth of HA’s identity. LAI shows out the evidence and tells HONG and the others that HA is the real Emperor YONGZHENG. Everyone is shocked. HA and LEUNG are chased by the press regarding their real identity. HA and the others are thinking of the strategy and hope that HONG with give them a hand. OI has decorated HA’s room into an ancient Chinese Emperor’s room, HA is touched. LAI is proud that to wait HONG for signing the selling of the shares. HA and the others come and give out evidence that HA is not YONGZHENG. However, LAI has prepared for this. While everybody is worrying, LEUNG suddenly jumps up to the table and yells that HA is YONG ZHENG……
