Mr. Magoo inadvertently wanders into the TV studio of the game show "People Are A Scream" (a parody of a real show at the time, "People Are Funny"), which plays vicious jokes on its contestants. The obnoxious host tries to get the nearsighted fellow to take a ride in a car with the host's assistant Ralph. They plan to scare him by disguising Ralph as a gangster who wants to "take him for a ride." But Magoo, thinking that the place is Al's Used Cars, takes control of the car and creates havoc along the way. Magoo leaves the show happy, and it's the host and Ralph who are screaming!

The only "catch" is that Magoo prefers the crap in the junkyard next door! He thinks that a used stove is the salesman, and he ends up buying a baby buggy for a compact car.
