A woman in her early twenties is found dead at a local playground. Hrafn, a wealthy businessman, is suspected of being involved in the murder as the woman was with him. Journalist Lára faces serious financial problems as well as a crumbling marriage, and when asked by Hrafn for her help to prove his innocence in exchange for a weighty sum it becomes a difficult offer to refuse.

Not everyone is fooled by him but his charm and good looks soon overcome any doubts Lára and others harboured about his involvement in the murders of the two young women.
