1x2 - Episode 2

April 19, 1988

Pei-chi guns down Cheng Hua while he is trying to escape, and then rushes Hsiao-tien to hospital for emergency treatment. Chou Yung and Hsi-ya hear of the news while in the act of going to the airport to meet Tu Wei-lun, a returned student from Japan, and rush immediately by car to hospital. They are, however, stopped by British soldiers near the British Concession, but get over only through Chou's stick-and-carrot approach. It appears that Cheng Tan bribed the British soldiers into putting off Chou Yung and company while sending a killer to hospital to kill Hsiao-tien. Luckily, Wei-lun arrives in the nick of time to bump off the killers, then combine with the others to rush Hsiao-tien back home for emergency treatment. Apparently Cheng Tan acted on information from Hsu Ping, but to stop him from revealing the truth, he ordered Chen Chi to kill him to destroy the evidence……

1x3 - Episode 3

April 20, 1988

Hsiao-chun and Gigi spend some time in the country villa. They witness how Wei-lun uses ferocious means to handle a thief. Hsiao-chun finds his character disgusting. Hsiao-tien recovers from the coma. He relinquishes all his businesses to Chou Yung, which antagonizes Wei-lun. Cheng Tan employs Lei Kang, the fast gunner, to kill Chou Yung. Chou detects signs of danger and anticipates Lei's attack. As the two men confront each other in a duel, Hsi-Ya comes to the scene. Lei Kang agrees not to harm Hsi-ya so that Chou can concentrate in the duel. Lei Kang loses because of over-confidence. As Lei keeps his promise of not hurting Hsi-ya, Chou let him go. Hsi-ya grows to worry for Chou Yung more and more. She tries to persuade Chou to withdraw from the underworld affairs. But Chou refuses her plea because to do so would disappoint Hsiao-tien. Hsi-ya is in great distress……

1x4 - Episode 4

April 21, 1988

As Hsiao-tien gradually recovers, Chou suggests revenge on Cheng Tan. Hsiao-tien does not want to distress Hsi-ya and turns down the idea. Hsiao-tien seeks help from Tung Pai-nien who would act as conciliator to end the rivalries between Hsiao-tien and Cheng Tan. To pay due respects to Pai-nien, Cheng Tan agrees to reconcile with Hsiao-tien. Cheng Tan then asks Lei Kang to forget about killing Chou. But Lei wants to avenge for his previous defeat. As soon as his injuries are healed, he would invite Chou for another duel. Hsiao-tien arranges Chou to become the manager of Hsia Fei Restaurant so that he could start doing legal businesses. So as not to upset Hsi-ya, Chou reluctantly accepts the offer. As Chouis spending more time on the restaurant, Wei-lun seizes the opportunity to establish his influence over the casino. But when Hsiao-tien finds out, he was severely reprimanded……

1x5 - Episode 5

April 22, 1988

Hsiao-chun finds Wei-lun unbearable. She fakes having a headache, hoping to leave early. Unluckily for her, Hsiao-tien asks Wei-lun to ride her back. The ride ends up in greater antagonism between the two. Wei-lun plans to make use of Pai-nien's influence to strengthen his power. Marrying Hsiao-chun is the means. Both Hsiao-tien and Pai-nien agrees to the marriage. Hsiao-chun strongly objects. Jui-fang stole away the stakes money from the casino. The manager discovers it and forces her to give the money back. Yung Kuei rescues Jui-fang and both of them escape. Jui-fang feels greater affection towards Yung Kuei. Chou Yung plans to expand the restaurant. He has a mind to the pottery shop next to the restaurant. But Chen Chi also wants to use the place for a new casino. The owner's wife has been fed up with Chen Chi's ferocity. She sells the shop to Chou. Chen Chi takes it as a challenge from Chou. He decides to take revenge……

1x6 - Episode 6

April 25, 1988

Hsiao-tien is thrown into great sorrows when he learns of his daughter's death. Chou is in deep agony and swears vengeance. He sends his men out to find out the whereabouts of Chen Chi. He suspects it is the doing of an inside man. Wei-lun kills the driver and succeeds in convincing Chou that the driver is the culprit. In a raid to capture Chen Chi, Chou causes an injury to a foreign woman. Foreign residents assert pressure on the District Director. Both Hsiao- tien and Cheng Tan are given warning to stop large-scale gang fights, or they would be eradicated. Hsiao-tien concedes and gives up revenging. Chou wouldn't agree. He swears to get Chen Chi, even though he has to leave the Clan. His two followers; Ah Ho and Ah Yung stand by him. Chou starts his own casino, but is soon raided by Cho Wen and his team. Cho Wen persuades Chou to join the police force. Chou refuses……

1x7 - Episode 7

April 26, 1988

Leading Ah Yung and Ah Ho, Chou Yung launches the attack against Chen Chi. Chou is able to kill Chen Chi after fierce fights. But Ah Ho and Ah Yung die in bloodshed too. Chou is injured. Ma Ch'ang takes Chou back to his house. His sister Ma Yi comes to understand Chou's past and becomes sympathetic towards him. Chou is to stay on in Ma's house until he recovers. Chu Feng is furious over Chen Chi's death and decides to avenge against Tien Hsing Clan. Cheng Tan, fear of stirring up too much disturbances, tries to stop Chu. Chu regards this as a denial of their brotherly feelings and feels very bitter. Wei-lun asks Pai-nien for the hand of Hsiao-chun. He even fixes the date of marriage. Hsiao-chun is anxious to prove to Pai the villainy of Wei-lun. She and Gigi try to gather evidences to prove his evil tricks. Unluckily for them, it is discovered by Wei-lun, who makes fun of them……

Chou Yung uses a small trick to defeat Yung Kuei. Then they go to Jui- fang about the debts. Jui-fang finds Chou Yung's action admirable, and agrees to postpone the deadline for paying the debts. Jui-fang keeps Yung Kuei's savings from him in order to keep him by her side. Yung Kuei let out his problem to Chou Yung. Hsiao-chun sees through Jui-fang's heart. She tricks her into revealing her affection towards Yung Kuei, and even has her promise to forget about Ah Tung's debts. Tsiao-k'ang greatly admires Chou Yung's skills at flying knife and begs to be taught. Chou Yung refuses to become Tsiao-k'ang's master but agrees to Tsiao-k'ang's learning it by himself. Hsiao-chun is distressed about her marriage with Wei-lun. Chou Yung advises Hsiao-chun to handle the problem and not to evade it. Hsiao- chun then makes up her mind as what she should do. Wei-lun pretends that he does not know of Hsiao-chun's disappearance……

1x10 - Episode 10

April 29, 1988

Chou Yung refuses to have a duel with Lei Kang, however hard Lei presses him. Hsiao-chun is worried of Chou's safety. She begs Cho Wen to help handling Lei Kang. Cho promises. Yung Kuei learns that Jui-fang adores himself and tries to avoid her. On the other hand, Jui-fang displays great tenderness to win the affection of Yung Kuei. Yung finds this irritating. Hsiao-chun loves Chou Yung, who is not ready to accept her love. Gigi acts as the matchmaker, but to no avail. Chou subtly refused Hsiao-chun's love. Hsiao-chun is disappointed, but she is certain of Cho Yung's love. Kawane Yumi orders Cheng Tan's driver to be killed so as to destroy evidence. Saved by Cho Wen, Ah San agrees to appear as witness in the prosecution against Kawane Yumi. Hsiao-tien becomes aware of Wei-lun's ambition. For the well-being of Tien Hsing Clan, he persuades Cho Yung to rejoin the Clan……

1x11 - Episode 11

May 2, 1988

Hsiao-tien's follower, Chang, has betrayed him. He leads a gang to attack Hsiao-tien upon his arrival to Shen Yang. Ho and the regimental commander come in time to his rescue. Wei-lun is behind the assault. He has Lo Wei buy Chang into betraying Hsiao-tien. As the plan fails, Wei-lun uses Hung Tan Chao Clan to get Hsiao-tien. The gang is led by Chou Ta Hu. During the fierce fights, the regimental commander is killed and Ho escapes. Hsiao-tien is grabbed. He succeeds in escaping. But during the confusion, he falls down the cliff. Chou Ta Hu lies to Wei-lun that Hsiao-tien is dead. Wei-lun is sceptical. He makes use of Yumi's influence in Shen Yang to track down Hsiao-tien. Pei-chi learns of the failure and feels worried. Cho Wen discovers that Wei-lun conspires with Yumi's in smuggling explosives. He does not have a chance to make known his finds; Wei-lun orders to have him killed……

1x12 - Episode 12

May 3, 1988

Chou Yung agrees to a duel with Lei Kang in exchange for his help to save Hsiao-tien. Chou Yung outwits Lei in the duel. Lei is convinced of Chou's superb skills. Chou splits the money among his friends. Ma cheong uses the money to get Ah Hung out of the brothel. The two celebrate her new found freedom. Wei- lun wants Ma Cheong to become his inside man and threatened to kill Ah Hung if he does not promise. Both the two do not yield to his threats. Wei-lun arranges an accidental death for the two. Ma Yi is shocked with grief to hear of Ma Cheong's death. She insists that it is murder, but no one listens to her. To replace Ma Cheong, Chou Yung gets the help of Pai-nien to bail out Chang Li-hsing, who is as good as Ma in explosives. Chang accepts Chou's offer to help save Hsiao-tien. Wei-lun arranges a fare-well feast for Chou Yung and his gang. During the feast, Li-hsing picks up a row with Wei-lun for show……

1x13 - Episode 13

May 4, 1988

Pei-chi persuades Jui-fang to catch up with Yung Kuei, so that through her, she would come to know Chou Yung's activities. Jui-fang is convinced that she should go. Hsiao-k'ang catches with Cho Yung and begs to join him. Moved by his sincerity, Chou Yung agrees. Chou and his gang get stuck with the rainy weather. Jui-fang catches up too. Li-hsing uses dirty means to force Jui-fang to leave. Jui-fang stands the insults and is determined to stay. Yung Kuei is touched by her determination and agrees to her stay. Wei-lun conspires with Yumi to get rid of Pai-nien. They set up a trap for the Provincial Governor's mistress and Pai-nien to fall into. The Provincial Governor is made to believe his mistress has an affair with Pai-nien, and dismisses him. Wei-lun then set him up selling toxic alcohol. Pai-nien then realizes Wei-lun's sinister acts. In great despair, Pai-nien kills himself……

1x14 - Episode 14

May 5, 1988

Failing to kill Wei-lun, Hsiao-chun escapes. Wei-lun declares that he would forgive Hsiao-chun, so as to enhance his image of generosity. Chou Yung and others arrive at Wu Tung county. They witness how Chang Wei-nan grab a village girl by force, which ends in beating her to death. The girl is the fiancee of a villager called Ah Shui. Chou Yung wants to teach Wei-nan a lesson, but is stopped by Lei Kang. To avoid distractions, Chou listened to Lei Kang's advice. Wei-nan discovers that Lei Kang is a great gunner and insists for a duel. Lei Kang refused at first. But Wei-nan would not let go. Lei Kang is forced to a duel with him. Wai-nan is injured in the duel. He leads his people in pursuing Chou Yung and his gang, and is able to catch Tsiao-K'ang and Yung Kuei. Wai-nan takes them to see his father Commander Chang. Yung Kuei is badly beaten. Jui-fang is agonized……

1x15 - Episode 15

May 6, 1988

Pei-chi realizes that it is vain hope to be with Wei-lun. Suppressing her passion towards him, she agrees to Wei-lun and Yumi's joint-venture to run a bank. Chou Yung and the others arrive at Shen Yang. Chou Yung seeks Hsiao-tien's good friend Ah Liang for news about Hsiao-tien, and becomes waried of Ah Liang's evasiveness. After Hsiao-tien has fallen from the cliff, he is saved by Hung, a hunter. He has Hung get in touch with Ho so that Ho can seek help from Ah Liang. Ah Liang at that time has already been bribed by Lo Wei. He informed Lo of Ho's coming and the latter has a narrow escape. Hsiao-tien calculates that Wei-lun will make use of Chou Yung to force himself to appear. He has Hung go and find Chou Yung. Hung mistaken Li-hsing to be Chou Yung and takes him home. Li-hsing slaughters Hung and his family. Ho dies too; only Hsiao-tien escapes. Ah Liang sets Chou up in a mine, planning to bomb him and the others……

1x16 - Episode 16

May 9, 1988

Risking great danger, Yung Kuei baits the black bear into a trap. He rescues Yui-fang, who is gratefully touched. Reaching Shen Yang, Yung Kuei insists on-going up the mountain with the others, but Chou Yung refuses. Yung Kuei is worried for the gang. Seeing this, Jui-fang seeks help from Ma, a coach of martial arts, as recommended by Pei-chi, Coach Ma promises to obtain explosives-for Chou Yung. Coach Ma is actually part of Pei-chi's conspiracy. He leads a raid against Chou Yung, who capably resists. Lei Kang and Ma Yi mistaken Yung Kuei and Jui-fang to be traitors.Chou Yung, though believing the two to be innocent, cannot let them stay. Dejected, Yung Kuei takes Jui-fang back home. Yung Kuei's mother is pleased to see the two back, and agrees readily to their marriage. The wedding is busily prepared. Chou Yung is in vain getting news of Hung Tan Chao Clan. They then resort to seek Yung Kuei's help……

1x17 - Episode 17

May 10, 1988

Chou Yung persists in searching Tsiao-k'ang, but Lei Kang objects. To break the deadlock, Lei Kang declares his withdrawal from the mission of rescuing Hsiao-tien. Ma Yi follows his move. On second thought, the two regret and decide to rejoin Chou Yung. Tsiao-k'ang heals himself by cutting the poisoned part. He is then rescued by Yung Kuei. The two are rejoined by Chou Yung and Lei Kang respectively. The gang reconciates and is more united than ever. Yung Kuei learns from Ah Chuan that Feng Piao has betrayed Hung Tan Chao Clan. Chou Yung uses a small trick to get Feng Piao out from his hiding place and tries to elicit information about Hung Tan Chao Clan from him. Feng Piao demands two things from them before he would agree to co-operate. The first is to get seven boxes of explosives in one day. The second is to surmount ordeals he is to give. Chou Yung successfully steals explosives from the Japanese……

1x18 - Episode 18

May 11, 1988

Led by Feng Piao, the whole gang set off for the headquarters of Hung Tan Chao Clan. Overcoming great physical barriers, they finally reach the place. Chou Yung has Hsiao-chun station at the entrance of the secret path, while he and Yung Kuei go to the prison- ward to rescue Hsiao-tien. Feng Piao leads Lei Kang, Ma Yi and Tsiao-k'ang to the treasure chamber. Feng Piao and the others go wrongly to the main chamber and are pursued by Chou Ta Hu. On the other side,.Chou Yung has discovered that Hsiao- tien has already escaped. Then he finds himself heavily ambushed. Feng Piao urges Chou to impersonate a Japanese spy, and sacrifices himself in order to verify Chou's identity. Sceptical of Chou's identity, Chou Ta Hu has his followers investigate. Seeing no chance of rescuing Lei Kang, Chou escapes with Hsiao-chun. Chou Ta Hu has Lei Kang harshly beaten. He wants to rape Ma Yi, who rather kills herself……

1x19 - Episode 19

May 12, 1988

Hsiao-chun arrives in time to help. Chou Yung successfully uses guerilla tactics to divert Chou Ta Hu's force. Lei Kang finally kills Cho for revenge. Yung Kuei die with the scar faced man. Having escaped a narrow death, Chou Yung and the others decide to return to Shanghai to get Wei-lun. In the mean time, Wei-lun is upset to learn that Chou has exterminated Hung Ta Chao Clan. He decides to seek the Japanese power in the North East to kill Chou Yung. Chang helps the Japanese to pursue Chou. Believing that Chang is connected with Ma Yi's death, Lei Kang guns him down. The others witness his cold- bloodedness with shivers. Pei-chi finds out that she has been made used of by Wei-lun all this time and attempts to kill him. She fails and is pursued by Wei-lun's followers. Pei-chi is saved by Chou Yung, whojust comes back from Shanghai. Chou Yung is shocked to learn from Pei-chi that the killer of Hsi-ya is Wei-lun……

1x20 - Episode 20

May 13, 1988

Despite Hsiao-chun's dissuasion, Chow Yung decides to go alone to kill Wei-lun, so that the others would not be endangered. Lei Kang is not to let it happen. He hits Chou hard, so that in his unconsciousness, Lei can go alone for Wei-lun. He fails, and is fatally wounded by Wei- lun's followers. Chou Yung comes to help, but cannot surpass Wei-lun's ambush. At this point, Pei-chi leads the Ching Lung Clan to rescue Chou and the others. Lei Kang dies, and Chou vows vengeance. Pei-chi suggests co-operation with Chou. Though suspicious of Pei-chi's sudden rise as the head of Ching Lung Clan, Chou agrees. Pei-chi tells the French Consulate about Wei-lun's helping the Japanese smuggle explosives. The French Consulate decides to close down Wei-Lun's bank. Wei-lun learns the news and attempts to reconcile with Pei-chi, who refuses. Instead, Pei-chi makes a deal with the Japanese, who would help her kill Wei-lun……
