1x1 - Episode 1

October 11, 2010

Taxi owner HO KAU’s goddaughter CHEUNG HIU-MAN works in the garage. She helps KAU to inspect the taxi and discovers some mechanical failures. The taxi-driver refuses to pay the repair fees and KAU decides to absorb the cost. KAU and other drivers go to Beef Ball King NGAI CHIU-FAT’s shop to eat. KAU and FAT are good friends so he asks him to be the referee of his son KA-PO for working an apprentice. KA-PO asks HIU-MAN to inflate the ties of his van. HIU-MAN warns him that the tires are very old already and accidents may occur easily. While driving with his customer KO LAI-SUM, KA-PO keeps exceeding the speed limit and running the red lights. LAI-SUM is actually a policewoman and she takes photos of it. While having lunch, KAU and the other drivers are shocked to learn that the traffic police are coming. They rush back to find the new policewoman LAI-SUM and they are very grateful for LAI-SUM decides to give them a chance……

KA-PO goes to visit CHIU-FAT at the hospital but CHIU-FAT claims that his condition is not serious and he wants to leave the hospital… KA-PO then tries to apologize to the family members of the victim. However, the doctor announces that the victim has died and his wife collapses. KA-PO is eventually sentenced to a 2-year imprisonment and his driving license is suspended for 2 years as well. KA-PO needs to make 7.5 million dollars compensation to the victim’s family and all neighbors discuss the issue with KAU. Somebody suggests KA-PO to go bankrupt… SHUK-CHING wants to drive the antique car while LAI-SUM is away but SAM-FUNG stops her. Even though her grandmother has a driving license, LAI-SUM doesn’t want her to drive because of her eye disease. While preparing the beef ball, MEI-FUN discovers that her husband has great pain on his arm but CHIU-FAT thinks that it is no big deal……

HIU-MAN’s boyfriend ANDY tells her that he has eventually settled the divorce agreement. While they hug each other happily, OI-HEI suddenly arrives… HIU-MAN accompanies ANDY to pick up his son. ANDY reveals his financial difficulties and HIU-MAN immediately lends him 500 thousand dollars… Since her driving license is going to expire soon, SHUK-CHING drives the car with SAM-FUNG secretly but her car nearly crashes with KAU’s car. On the next day, SHUK-CHING finds that there is no car in the garage… LAI-SUM is finding people to repair the antique car but OI-HEI asks for 200 thousand dollars repair fees… On KA-PO’s birthday, KAU rushes to visit him. HIU-MAN’s younger sister HIU-CHING sends her skin care products for she wants her to finance her summer trip in USA. OI-HEI finally discovers that HIU-MAN has lent 500 thousand dollars to ANDY…

HIU-MAN asks KAU to drive ANDY to the airport. She reveals to KAU that HIU-MING will returns from USA in one and a half year. By then, she will fly to Australia to meet her lover… A magazine reporter comes to CHIU-FAT’s noodle shop to interview him. The reporter discovers that CHIU-FAT’s arm is injured and he cannot make beef ball. LAI-SUM misconceives that her granddaughter has thrown away the antique car. However, LAI-SUM still brings SHUK-CHING to the garage and she claims that she will drive the antique car again… CHUNG BIU wants to rent one of KAU’s rooms. KAU finally agrees but he discovers that BIU is a bad tenant. Time flies. KA-PO is released earlier than expected because of his good performance at the prison and KAU goes to pick him up. KAU quarrels with another taxi-driver and KA-PO discovers that KAU has sold his two taxi licenses already…

HIU-MAN reveals to KA-PO that KAU has sold the taxi licenses in order to make compensation to the traffic accident’s victim. KAU also starts driving taxi again. In order to ease his father’s burden, KA-PO starts working for his truck driver friend as a porter but LAI-SUM misconceives that he is driving again without a license… HIU-MAN returns home to discover that HIU-MING has sent back lots of luggage from USA. HIU-MAN calls ANDY but ANDY responses to her coldly. While KAU plans to hand over the taxi to the next driver, SHUK-CHING suddenly gets into the taxi and they nearly start a quarrel. SHUK-CHING discovers that her wallet is missing after the cookery class. KAU arrives to return her wallet. SHUK-CHING asks HIU-MAN to recommends KA-PO to work as a cleaner. KA-PO is accused of sexual harassment while carrying out his duty. LAI-SUM subdues him without checking the details…

While Taxi driver YIU-TSUN and MEI-WAI check out the interior decoration works of their new home, CHIU-FAT suddenly comes to stop the work. They fight with each other and the flat is accidentally on fire. During the time, OI-HEI arrives with HO-KAU to visit their niece MEI-WAI… LAI-SUM tries to join a Thai boxing contest but KA-PO hurts her accidentally. LAI-SUM blames him for taking a revenge on her intentionally… Not able to join the contest, LAI-SUM goes to visit DAISY. She originally hoped to win the trophy for her ex-colleague DAISY because DAISY has saved her life. KA-PO cannot withstand the rumors at work and he quits the job. He meets his good friend YAT-TUNG on the street and YAT-TUNG invites him to work as a supervisor at his karaoke. HIU-MING returns from USA and he brings home lots of souvenirs.

When YIU-TSUN and his family members are having dinner, they hear that CHIU-FAT has broken something… While eating noodle at a shop, HO-KAU finds some bruises on MEI-FUN’s arm but MEI-FUN claims that she just hurts herself accidentally. Before getting married with ANDY in Australia, HIU-MAN asks HO-KAU and his son out for she wants them to reconcile with each other… LAI-SUM is having party with her classmates and she finds KA-PO working at the karaoke. MEI-WAI’s son TSZ-HIM is missing. HO-KAU discovers that he is hiding at the rooftop. He suggests YIU-TSUN to punish his son but YIU-TSUN communicates with his son in a special manner… HO-KAU persuades KA-PO to quit the job at karaoke and they break up in discord. The suspension period of KA-PO’s license is over and YAT-TUNG asks him to join an illegal car race. MEI-WAI and her husband discover the injured MEI-FUN at the staircase…

Somebody is trying to molest SHAN-SHAN at the coffee shop and KA-PO rescues her. KA-PO asks SHAN-SHAN to go home but SHAN-SHAN blames him for ruining her family angrily… KA-PO reveals to YAT-TUNG that he doesn’t want to join the car race but YAT-TUNG convinces him to join eventually. While driving to the car race location, KA-PO discovers his father’s taxi by the side of the road. HO-KAU is sick and KA-PO decides to quit the car race. SHUK-CHING tries to create an opportunity for LAI-SUM to say sorry to KA-PO and they reconcile with each other. KA-PO goes to have dinner at SHUK-CHING’s place but he accidentally damages the trophy with KWAN SHU-YAN’s name on it… KA-PO accompanies HO-KAU to the hospital for second medical consultation. While returning home, he meets HIU-MAN who returns to Hong Kong earlier than expected. LAI-SUM brings HIU-MAN to wedding dress shop but HIU-MAN reveals that she

The drunken HIU-MAN returns home and reveals that ANDY has deserted her. SHAN-SHAN tries to stop CHIU-FAT from hitting her mother in public and CHIU-FAT slaps her on her face. In order to help SHAN-SHAN, HIU-CHING asks her mother to allow SHAN-SHAN staying in their home temporarily. While going to work, MEI-WAI meets SHU-YAN and she presents her company’s financial plan to him. She doesn’t realize that SHU-YAN is her company’s new boss… CHIU-FAT urges his family members to return home angrily. He is almost out of control and HO-KAU stops him from making a mess… LAI-SUM invites KA-PO to do voluntary works at DAISY’s drawing studio but DAISY kicks him away after knowing who he is. HO-KAU allows MEI-FUN and her daughter to stay in his home temporarily. He also suggests MEI-FUN to get a taxi driver’s license so that she could work as a taxi-driver……

YIU-TSUN drives a pair of clandestine lovers to an hourly hotel and he discovers that MEI-WAI is coming out from the hotel… HO-KAU meets MEI-FUN while handing over his taxi to the next driver. MEI-FUN is suffering from leg cramps after long hours of driving and HO-KAU assists her to walk home. Somebody suspects that they are committing adultery and people starts gossiping about this at the noodle shop… SHUK-CHING is having a meeting with the director of Harmony Education Centre. The director wants to borrow money to settle their current financial problems. SHUK-CHING voluntarily helps to make a request to SHU-YAN but SHU-YAN rejects her right away. While driving HO-KAU to join an activity, KA-PO meets SHU-YAN in a sports car. Because of SHU-YAN, KA-PO is caught in a traffic accident and HO-KAU is injured. The police carry out investigation on SHU-YAN but SHU-YAN is eventually released after providing an alibi.

HIU-MAN gives KA-PO a cheque of 100 thousands dollars for him to pay the court expense but HIU-MING and OI-HEI come to stop her… SHU-YAN goes to look for YAT-TUNG at his karaoke. It was YAT-TUNG who helps to provide SHU-YAN’s alibi. SHU-YAN dines with MEI-WAI. SHUK-CHING suddenly comes to reveal that she will be the witness against SHU-YAN if he doesn’t surrender himself to the police. KA-PO is found guilty. When SHU-YAN comes out from the court, HIU-MAN slaps him on his face on behalf of SHUK-CHING. While looking for SHU-YAN at his finance company, KA-PO finds YAT-TUNG there and YAT-TUNG claims that he is borrowing money there. KA-PO asks SHU-YAN not to sue HIU-MAN but SHU-YAN rejects him. HIU-MAN and LAI-SUM try to look for witnesses secretly at the traffic accident location. They eventually find a witness but the witness is a voyeur. In order to chase for the voyeur, both of them are injured…

In order to help KA-PO, HIU-MAN is injured. OI-HEI and HIU-CHING persuade her to sell the garage so as to help setting up HIU-MING’s laboratory… LAI-SUM checks through the records of DAISY’s injury during a traffic accident and she discovers that SHU-YAN is one of the suspects in the case as well… HIU-CHING is nearly raped by a friend at the karaoke and YAT-TUNG rescues her. LAI-SUM arrests a speeding driver and the driver admits that he is the one who caused KA-PO’s traffic accident. The driver is driving YAT-TUNG’s sports car and KA-PO realizes that YAT-TUNG has been working for SHU-YAN for a long time. He cannot bear to question YAT-TUNG about it… KA-PO makes use of SHUK-CHING’s secret recipe to make curry and this helps to wake HO-KAU up. While everybody celebrates at the rooftop, MEI-WAI suddenly calls YIU-TSUN to inform him that their neighbour CHIU-FAT is harassed by the loan shark.

The loan shark posts a lot of debt collection notice at CHIU-FAT’s shop. When MEI-FUN arrives at the shop, OI-HEI reveals that the loan shark is distributing CHIU-FAT’s debt notice to all neighbours on the street. MEI-FUN sells the noodle shop and the bank takes over their apartment as well. HO-KAU asks MEI-FUN and her daughter to stay in his house temporarily. In order to please his wife, YIU-TSUN buys dessert for her with high price. Discovering that YIU-TSUN is coming, SHU-YAN pretends that he is falling and he hugs MEI-WAI deliberately… LAI-SUM brings KA-PO to see the victims of the traffic accident and KA-PO kneels down in front of them… KA-PO declares his love to LAI-SUM and LAI-SUM agrees to be his girlfriend……

HIU-MAN discovers that her family members are cheating on her together and she is enraged. However, after thinking through the issue, she finally mortgages her garage to MEI-WAI’s finance company in order to borrow 2 million dollars… YIU-TSUN returns home to find that MEI-WAI has already returned. MEI-WAI has actually taken HIU-MAN’s advice to spend more time with her family. SHU-YAN has promoted MEI-WAI as a manager but YIU-TSUN believes that SHU-YAN has other intentions… CHEONG TAT takes over CHIU-FAT’s noodle shop. KA-PO suddenly reveals to everybody that he is dating LAI-SUM. SHU-YAN asks MEI-WAI to work in his new investment firm in Philippines with him and he claims that she can bring her family to Philippines as well. In order to buy flowers for MEI-WAI, YIU-TSUN leaves his son sleeping in the car. SHU-YAN uses the case to alienate MEI-WAI and YIU-TSUN…

KA-PO asks MEI-FUN to accompany HO-KAU to the hospital for medical consultation. When they leave, they discover that CHIU-FAT who has been missing is picking up things from the garbage bin. They follow CHIU-FAT and realize that he is living in a cardboard house now… While doing part-time work, SHAN-SHAN breaks the dishes carelessly for she is worrying about CHIU-FAT. YAT-TUNG realizes that CHIU-FAT is in debt… CHIU-FAT earns a living by picking up cardboards on the street and he suffers a lot. When he returns to his cardboard house, he discovers MEI-FUN there. YAT-TUNG cheats SHAN-SHAN to eat soft drugs. KA-PO finds SHAN-SHAN talking nonsense on the phone and he rushes to the karaoke. He finds SHAN-SHAN standing at the edge of the rooftop dangerously so he asks CHIU-FAT and MEI-FUN to come… SHUK-CHING finally discovers that LAI-SUM and KA-PO are dating. SHUK-CHING asks KA-PO to help picking up two persons at the airport……

LAI-SUM’s family members invite KA-PO to dinner at the police club. SHUK-CHING asks KA-PO if he has any future plan and KA-PO reveals that he is studying vehicle maintenance. SHUK-CHING asks KA-PO to memorize a Chinese poem “Mulan” within five days if he wants the KO family to accept him as LAI-SUM’s boyfriend. HIU-MAN discovers that YIU-TSUN has been sleeping in the taxi and she persuades him to stop the cold war with MEI-WAI… SHU-YAN would like to appoint MEI-WAI as the managing director of his new company in Philippines and he asks MEI-WAI to sign the agreement. YIU-TSUN wants to celebrate MEI-WAI’s birthday with her but MEI-WAI rejects him. YIU-TSUN seeks help from HIU-MAN and HO-KAU. HO-KAU allows YIU-TSUN staying at his place temporarily…

KA-PO studies vehicle maintenance at night. During the day, he works in HIU-MAN’s garage. The staffs in the garage tell HIU-MAN that they find HIU-CHING and YAT-TUNG acting intimately at the karaoke… SHU-YAN and MEI-WAI set up a new company in Philippines successfully. SHU-YAN tries to please MEI-WAI in every ways… HIU-MAN meets HIU-MING and her mother while going to work but a van suddenly comes to take HIU-MING away… HIU-MING returns home and reveals that he is blackmailed for three million dollars after having sex with a minor girl… HIU-MAN follows him and discovers that the truth is a lot more complicated and she decides not to raise the money for him. OI-HEI blames HIU-MAN for being cold-blooded… HIU-MAN runs away from home and she discusses the issue with HO-KAU and KA-PO. She then decides to stay in YIU-TSUN’s home temporarily. MEI-WAI finally realizes why SHU-YAN has promoted her as the managing director……

LAI-SUM discovers that HIU-MAN is making flowers with shoelace as a way to bless for KA-PO’s well-being and she voluntarily joins her. KA-PO’s condition is getting better and he is moved to the general wards. Since he is still unconscious, HO-KAU helps him to clean his body. LAI-SUM accompanies HO-KAU to visit the doctor. She accidentally sees SHU-YAN who is supposed to be traveling. LAI-SUM and HO-KAU follows SHU-YAN to an abandoned car park. LAI-SUM asks HO-KAU to wait outside but HO-KAU cannot bear to go inside eventually. He discovers that SHU-YAN has been shot by the gun while LAI-SUM is lying on the floor with a gun in her hand. LAI-SUM’s parents believe that the evidence is very unfavorable to her. KA-PO asks HO-KAU to help LAI-SUM by telling lies to the police but HO-KAU rejects him. YIU-TSUN is notified by the Philippines government to visit MEI-WAI who just recovers after being unconscious for some time…

YIU-TSUN airs his grievances to HIU-MAN at the restaurant. He cannot bear to think if his wife had committed adultery with SHU-YAN in Philippines. OI-HEI asks the estate agents to bring people home and check out their house but HIU-MAN arrives to kick them away. OI-HEI reveals to HIU-MAN that she has no choice but to sell the house so as to raise money for HIU-MING but HIU-MING disappeared after getting the money. OI-HEI and HIU-MAN discover that HIU-CHING is not going to school so they go to the karaoke to look for her… YAT-TUNG and HIU-CHING quarrel with each other on the street. HIU-CHING wants to tell everybody that YAT-TUNG has killed somebody and YAT-TUNG wants to stop it by killing her. Luckily, HO-KAU and HIU-MAN arrive on time. HIU-MAN’s head is injured while trying to save HIU-CHING. HO-KAU asks all taxi-drivers in town to help searching for YAT-TUNG…
